It is a great show and motivating but unrealistic. They work out like 8 hours a day it becomes their "job" and they lose it fast which is awesome but I have also seen the people that were on the show a few years ago and a lot of them can't keep it off. When going back to the reality of life, jobs, family etc it just isn't feasible and old habits die hard. I know lately every time i see a jenny craig or nutrisystem commercial I think to myself that maybe I should give it one last shot at losing weight and save myself a some major cash, then it hits me that I have tried them all and sure I could probably lose about half of what I really want to lose and be semi satisfied but would I ever be able to keep it off? It hasn't seemed to work the last 7 years so I am going forward with the surgery, god willing.

I had to look up what DS was (duh) .....so while I was at it I added DS weight loss smell to the search engine and google pulled up 150,000 hits about the smell in about half a second lol. Yikes. -

I was reading some information on stomaphyX procedure which is done through endoscopy....isn't that basically the same as VSG, though it is done to patients who have had RNY previously and stretched out the stomach? StomaphyX - Bariatric Revision for Gastric Bypass Surgery Would sure as heck be nice to have it done without incisions.

So your surgery got moved up a week? Lucky you. I am so excited I can't wait for the 28th of June.

Will I ever be able to enjoy a Pepsi again? Or should I just say goodbye and drink my fill now before surgery?:confused1:

I am on cenarion circle. I have both Alliance and horde characters. I have a 80 blood elf rogue, an 80 blood elf holy priest, a 80 undead mage. I also have a 72 human priest and a 42 night elf hunter and a few other 30'ish toons i mess around with when bored. I love to do battle grounds! That said those are my accumulations since the game started day one. I only play once or twice a month these days. I don't play much in summer at all. I love to be outside. I had gained to my highest weight when I was really involved in the game in about 2005. I decided at that time if I had 6 hours to play WOW i could be getting in better shape during that time. So I pretty much quit for about a year and lost 35 pounds. I have managed to keep that off but I try to not get sucked into that gaming addiction again lol. Though it is SO FREAKING AWESOME OF A GAME!

Thank you, thank you for sharing. These are the stories along with the daily struggles and the small victories I love to see. It is awesome to see someone meet and exceed their goal and I know it didn't happen overnight but it proves the journey is worth it. -

That is awesome and that should be helpful to those with BC/BS California knowing they can always try that route! -
Still 5 or 6 weeks out but I'm obsessing as usual!
mp8btpc posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a control freak worrier. Nobody around me needs to worry because I worry and overthink everything enough for everyone! I am obsessing over the surgery. I am not thinking about bad things, I just find it occupies my thoughts and now my dreams. I have had several dreams about the process. I have now moved on to cleaning, it is almost like I am pregnant and I am nesting or something. I feel the need to have everything organized. Was anyone else like that or is it just me? p.s I was cleaning out a book shelf and I came across three diet cook books, three books on dieting in general and in a closet the full six week body makeover kit I purchased 3 years ago. The medicine cabinet had 4 bottles of over the counter diet pills and one prescription diet pill bottle:cursing:. -
The nickname for this medicine is Alli-Ooooops for a reason

Is this really better than band?
mp8btpc replied to sam30204's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually started my search looking for lap band information and had never heard of the VSG procedure. I came across it while on the lap band talk web site. I started viewing this site and was sold (along with looking up the difference in the procedures). I know too many people with the band and all it's fill issues...the unfill issues, the slipping and eroding that this procedure seems more straight forward and once the initial wounds heal...is a done deal. IMO. Scares me a little about the cutting through the stomach but with the leak tests etc. I feel it should be a manageable variable. -
YAY Neighbor, glad to hear you have made it home even if your having a little pain. Keep taking the meds and being positive. Congrats and keep updating as you feel able!
