Kalew is exactly correct, since the tummy tuck my arms are bigger and my butt gained weight up high on it. The distribution of fat after an area is removed is odd.

Scheduled for June 10th!

Congrats on your surgery date! I too have a lower BMI and though my insurance covers the procedure I am not medically needy enough to get approved. Welcome to the forum. -
They may have billed it incorrectly to the insurance company. That will happen a lot or they may not have included the preauth information. I would be calling first thing but more then likely it is a billing issue.

Post Op Clothing Dilemmas
mp8btpc replied to pnw218's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was at the flea mart today and I decided I would be using that route on the climb down in sizes. Its not best quality but can get some cheap basics to get by on. Even the new clothes are cheap. -
Ahh neighbor of mine, I feel sorry for you and you gotta cut both you and the boyfriend some slack. You are still healing and though your intentions were good for the weekend there has been a big change in your body literally overnight. Things will take some time to get used to and from what I have read it gets so much better. Just give yourself time to heal and adjust. Try to relax and start fresh tomorrow.

I am wondering what sort of pain medication I should have on hand for after surgery. I have a bottle of Vicodin that I thought might be useful because I don't know if I can legally come back across border with the pain medication that the doctor is going to give me in Mexico. I don't even want to go there and try it. Of course I will run it by the doctor before hand but thought maybe others would have some input on what their doc's prescribed. I have a 6 hour car ride home and want to be as comfortable as possible. I also have some tylenol with codeine on hand and I bought a pill crusher. I am trying to get all my ducks in a row before surgery. help?

Oh god don't even say that word (percocet) the doctor prescribed that for me after my tummy tuck and I woke up hallucinating in my living room one night, I saw people moving around in my living room it was nuts. LoL it was a scary trip. Needless to say I tossed that stuff out.

Cant decide / please help

When I decided I was going to do something about my weight a couple months ago I had no idea about the VSG procedure. I do not know anyone personally that has had it ...at least nobody has told me they had it. I was actually posting on the lapband talk website when the ads for the VSG procedure kept popping up and I got curious. After reading back and forth between the two sites and then thinking of the people that I know of with the lap band I was really excited about the VSG procedure. I was concerned with the cutting of the stomach but once I was explained the procedure and watched a couple of video's on them actually being done I was more at ease with the safety of the sleeve. I was concerned with the band slipping and getting fills and being overfilled and on and on with the issues that can pop up with the band. It appears to me with the sleeve that once you get it and you recover it is a done deal as far as the complications. The band can be great then suddenly you get overfilled and your on a roller coaster figuring out how to get it back to being comfortable. Then you get sick and start vomitting and the band slips and you get all sorts of secondary issues. I like the once and done finality of the VSG. I don't want to be wondering if and when the band may just turn around and kick my a$$. -
I had to bump this thread because I can already foresee that my breasts are going to shrink and I am going to get p*ssed. I was always a small C then I gained weight and I am a D (which is nice) but I know it is inevitably going to go south and they will shrink. So I decided today I am going to open a separate savings acct and start the boob fund right now...why wait ya know? At the bank you can name the acct so you keep track of where you put the money...could you see me telling them to name it The Boob Fund or Fun Bag Trust or something like that HEHEHEH. When I ran it by the hubby he said heck ya as long as he gets to pick them out. Sounds typical.

I just resigned after 4 years with the Health and human services (formerly known as the Welfare Dept). I was a case manager for Medi-Cal (same as medicaid)/food stamp program. I may go back in February. I really needed a year off, the last few years with the crappy economy etc was a rough time dealing with the cases etc. I am such an empathetic person that it just drained me. I get to stay home now and help take care of my grandma (my grandpa passed day after xmas) and enjoy the dairy farm we live on, it has been nice I have to say.

Lucky duck, I am so jealous my date just seems like it is not getting any closer. If it wasn't for the damn passport I could have done it already! GRR anyways sorry I got distracted with my selfish thoughts hehe. Congrats and prayers for u! -
Believe me you still wouldn't be happy with the extra weight. I had a tummy tuck about 3 years ago, because even though I was the same weight I am now I HATED the hanging skin from my two pregnancies. I gained about 60-70 pounds with each of them. I started off in around 140 or so with each, so my stomach took a beating. I don't regret having the tummy tuck because it made me a little more comfortable in clothing etc over the last three years but I think the best result would have been to have it after the VSG but I guess time will tell. My tummy is pretty rockin for someone who still needs to lose 40-50 pounds but I still hate my fluffy arms etc. Plus though its flat my waist is still 8 inches bigger then it was pre-baby. I wish I would have put the money into this surgery first (didn't know about it back then) then had the tummy tuck. So after VSG, if you still need the tummy tuck you will have the BEST results. :scared0:

I was just discussing with my mother that being able to enjoy shopping again is what I look forward to most about this process. That and losing my chin fluff and getting back my cheek bones again! I for one can't wait to have to donate my clothes cause they don't fit! Congrats -
Yay congrats on the safe return. Keep us posted!
