    Back in the 80's

Awesome! You are on your way.
  5. I would have her up the intensity of her exercise. Find a challenging road with hills or go run the stairs at the local football field. I think just one to two days of high intensity would do the trick. Ive seen people go to the local park that has a slope down into the softball field and walk around it but go up and down the slope as they walk around the park. She can even do it at a slow pace just make the course a little more difficult. Just an idea.
  6. Well after my puking episode I didn't eat for 12 or so hours at least. I finally had a couple crackers then worked over the next two days to start eating again. Maybe I will try to start a different PPI. I know even after I call doctor it will take a couple days to get in, he is really busy. It is gurgling right now and burning. It really blows.

    YIPPEE!! my thyroid is shot

It stinks but at same time having an answer is better then being left trying to figure out what the heck is going on huh? Hope things work out and you can get those pounds you want off!

    Few days out

I didnt worry about protein or calories the first two weeks. For me it was all about hydration also. If you can get it in then awesome. Just getting my fluids was a booger at first.

    Few days out

I totally agree with the restlessness! OMG at the hospital I felt like I couldn't wait to run out of that place. It felt like the walls were closing in. Thank god I took my anti anxiety meds with me and the doc let me take it on the second day. I noticed as soon as it kicked in the less discomfort I seemed to be in also. Those helped so much and when I got home I took about 400 showers a day. I would sit in the bottom of the shower and just let the water beat on me. It is totally relaxing.

    Sharp Pains in stomach area

I don't know if they has anything to do with it but every morning I wake up to that. When my tummy is empty it lets me know it wants some damn food. It stops being such a pain as soon as a drink a glass of water and take my PPI. It is still hungry but less sharp about the pains.

    Stuffing

I am so sorry people can be harsh. I agree with Goodlife, some counseling would be good for you to help start looking at some deeper issues and help you work the band. Last but not least, people treat us the way we allow them too. I firmly believe that. I mean I also believe they respond to the way we treat them and thus we should be polite and as obliging as possible. I have no problem just avoiding those I do not care for and if I am forced to deal with them in the office I can keep it professional because when it comes down to it. My opinion of them does not matter. It is work (PERIOD). However I will not allow someone to treat me in a derogatory manner. You need to work on standing up for yourself and pointing out to them that they are being a horses ass (without making a scene in the office if possible). food isn't the answer (though I DO LOVE ME SOME DONUTS!)

I know it won't bring world peace but ...

Heck no I haven't even lost all the weight I am going to lose and I am barely 5 1/2 weeks out and I can tell you I see things looking up. Can it make you happier HELL YA. Will it solve SOME problems FOR SURE. Will it pay the bills? Well maybe if you turn it into some carreer (work that pole JUST KIDDING) but who knows the added confidence may motivate you to try for that promotion...or leave a job your comfortable at and get out of comfort zone and make more dough. The possibilities are endless when you make healthy changes in your life. I think in another thread someone who had high BMI but no comorbidities asked if she was a healthy large person should she be having surgery. I challenged her to just ask herself if it will improve the quality of her life. I think for all of us the answer is yes. The answers are personal and it may mean something different for each person. So yes it can make your happier, stronger and possibly more fullfilled.
  16. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your decision. It is wonderful that you and Crafty are local and can meet. That will be a great support. I had surgery at a lower BMI and had no comorbidities. I just constantly yo'yo dieted and could easily have gained more and more. I knew I was torturing myself and my body by the abuse of diet pills and up and down weight fluctuations. Plus I was just damn tired of getting to a certain spot and not pushing forward. I felt like I was running in place. 125 pounds is a pretty good amount of weight to be carrying. I think it is inevitable that you would probably gain more and some comorbidities but I am no doctor. I also challenge you to ask yourself. Would losing this weight improve the quality of your life? Would you have more energy. Are there things that your weight prevents you from doing physically. Or perhaps you don't allow yourself to do them because of your weight. Camping, swim parks, amusement parks, picnics, doing things with your children? Yard work. Are there some projects that you would like to do but just don't have the extra energy. Just some food for thought.
  17. 4ROmatl: I am so sorry that you have had this response to the surgery. You are correct this surgery isn't the answer to all lifes problems or even all weight issues. People need to think about it long and hard. I can imagine that if I was having the difficulty you were having that I would feel the same way. I hope that the nausea and other issues clear up and that you are able to live normally. I can state from my own experience that I feel 100% like my old pre-op self only I can't eat a whole lot but I do crave food that is better for me and make better choices. Thank you though for putting out there the other side of the coin. I think it is always important for people to understand that no weight loss surgery is all roses and candy.
  18. I started at 199 I am 5'4(almost) and I weighed yesterday and I weigh 169. I wont update my ticker until friday which is my official weigh in date. The last two weeks I have lost a ton which is almost unheard of for lower BMI'ers. I have been tracking my food I try to get between 750-900 calories a day. I get my 70 gram of Protein. I don't really stress on the carbs I just like them under 50 and I don't get them from white breads or Pasta normally. I did have a slice of pizza and a bite of cake at my sons birthday party. I exercise a few days a week for 45 minutes on the treadmill and I have been doing one day a week of extreme fitness, where I go walk this hill up and over and back. It takes about an hour and fifteen minutes and burns around 800-900 calories. It is great toning for the legs too. It is not easy, I feel like I am having to work but I feel full with very little so that helps a TON. I just know now while I watch what I eat and do the exercise it is not futile. It makes a big difference.
  19. Miss Diva I live about an hour north of Bakersfield...so in the middle of nowhere! You must have driven right by me. Our cow pens are right up against highway there lol.

I wonder if you can order it online somewhere? It is worth it let me tell ya. That was the best beauty tip I have EVER gotten online. Thanks again EmilyGrace. EDIT : woot woot http://www.americarx.com/Products/4760.html?CAWELAID=598947441
  23. I had a strange sensation today. I woke up from a small nap and I had a sweet taste in my mouth. At that point I had only had refried Beans and cheese to eat in the day. Anyone else experience something like this or is this totally not sleeve/weight loss related?
  24. It depends on the doctor's post op diet. Some people still get Protein drinks and Clear liquids. Others get to move on to mushies like creamed Soups, cottage cheese etc. Some doctors have a rule that if it can fit through a straw then it is fine (so they puree different things). I hate to be so general but if you give us an idea of what your post op states we can give some solid idea's on what has been used by other sleevers :scared0:
