mp8btpc replied to settebee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please make sure to include shot size drinks. I just need a few sips of my favorite drink with my food. I feel horrible ordering one that I take 3 sips of and leaving the rest. -
Sunday Praise and Worship 10-3
mp8btpc replied to Cleosan52's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love that song! My motivating song is ...Aaron Shust My Savior My God. I am not skilled to understand What God has willed, what God has planned I only know at His right hand Stands one who is my Savior I take Him at His word and deed Christ died to save me; this I read And in my heart I find a need Of Him to be my savior That He would leave His place on high And come for sinful man to die You count it strange, so once did I Before I knew my Savior My Savior loves, My Savior lives My Savior's always there for me My God: He was, my God; He is My God is always gonna be -
I paid 6.5k in August in TJ Mexico. That included 2 nights at facility and 2 nights post op in a hotel that connected to facility.

That looks DELICIOUS! I am going to have to try that one day this week. Could a person use chicken instead? If so what cut of chicken should I get?

VSG in May 2009 -- not happy with myself
mp8btpc replied to ShannonPA-S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Shannon, I am really sorry that this has not been the answer for you. It sounds like you are well aware of what you need to do but just can't get it done. I really hope you find the strength to start slowly and drop the things that are making you feel worse, like the coffee drinking (that is the worst for the reflux), the bad carbs that are keeping you craving more and more. It also sounds like you are doing all the things one would suggest for you to do, like seeing a therapist etc. I think you might benefit from trying to start back at the Clear liquids stage and cleanse yourself and start over. I know there is no easy answer but you are going to have to pull up the bootstraps and use this as a tool. You lost a good amount and you can continue to lose more. Wouldn't that be a wonderful testimony for yourself and the sleeve for you to turn this around for youself! You can do it! Now that you have pushed yourself is your stomach stretched out or are you still just grazing and eating too much? -

So MB20, can you pay the difference in the cost of the pan and the tummy tuck? -
Well you two it took me a bit to google and translate kilos into pounds lol, but I think I got the gist of the weight gains and losses. Like Chilo said there are many band to sleeve revisions on this site and they will be able to give you the low down on that idea. I was just curious though, I heard the port and metal on the bands were titanium like the staples used for the sleeve. If this is so you may need to go with a physician that uses threaded sutures and glue vs the staples if this is possible or maybe go with the gastric plication which is not excising the stomach only folding it within itself and suturing it up, to avoid the titanium. Hmmm

mp8btpc replied to jamigirl67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya I agree with Peatie maybe they will just call it a wash and do the sleeve instead? By-the-way Jami, I love the spelling of your name...mine is spelled the same way! -
Anybody watch dr phil today!?
mp8btpc replied to sleeveorbust's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That game alone will help you gain a ton of weight! Plus it is probably a lot more satisfying for you to date in real life then to have your undead mage dating a hotty tauren hunter in game huh? LOL -
~*~ WORKOUT Challenges and Chat Thread ~*~
mp8btpc replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Fitness & Exercise
My cousin is a personal trainer at our best local gym and she does the bootcamps there! My aunt (her mother) just asked me to be her workout partner so I will start next week doing 3 days of boot camp, 1 day of the cycling class which she also teaches and on Thursdays we all leave the gym and meet in the foothills to run this 6 mile steep paved road. It kicks our butts, but it feels so awesome after. I can't wait to get off the treadmill I have been using 4 days a week and into a program. I guess I am lucky that I have such an active family. My mom runs marathons at the age of 55, my cousin is a trainer, my aunt works at the gym and trains there also, my other cousin is training for half marathon with my mom and so anytime I am inclined to want to go run or workout there is always someone ready, willing and encouraging. Part of the reason it was so hard for me to be the chunky one in the family too though I suppose...lol:thumbup: -

mp8btpc replied to sleeveorbust's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeve check in and let us know how you are doing when you get a chance. Don't worry if you could care less about posting right now. I was in a funk until I got home from Mexico. All I could think of was...GET ME THE HELL HOME! Hope you are well. Check in when you can. -

I would say first thing to try is the appeal. The consider your other options. I am sorry that you are having these issues with the insurance. I was sort of in same boat. I did not even attempt with the insurance because of my lower BMI and lack of comorbities. -
Did you get insurance to pay???
mp8btpc replied to stephany48463's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think each individual policy is different. I have BCBS of California and my husbands employer included bariatric coverage. Someone else can have BCBS of California and their employer may have chosen to NOT cover that, so it will depend on the policy not necessarily the carrier. -
I'm offically sleeved

mp8btpc replied to sleeveorbust's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeve I have been thinking about you all week, knowing it was getting close to your turn. Saying a quick prayer for a safe and successful surgery. Keep positive! -
THat rocks! So happy for you. Congrats

I think I read that the powder form works better then the cream one, as you can make it into a thick paste. What I did was use an old mason jar and a plastic spoon along with an old plastic gift card for scraping:thumbup1:. I store them all under the counter in the bathroom. I used it on bikini line the other day, I hadn't used any since I had surgery 6 weeks ago and as usual it worked great!

There are are couple doctors around here that prescribe a really really hardcore low carb diet for around one month (you wouldn't want to stay on it for a long time) then they transition into regular ole Atkins. It is effective to kick off that weight loss. It is the Egg, meat and cheese diet. You can have those along with sugar free Jello, mayo, mustard and clear diet drinks.

Post-op 10 days - has not been easy!

I had bathroom issues during the liquids phase too, it was liquids in, liquids out. The next stage was the mushies and well the bathroom consistency followed that stage also. I am hoping you are able to stay hydrated even with the loose stools. Signs of dehydration: Mild Dehydration: (increase Fluid intake -- and for babies, call a medical professional): Thirst, dry lips, dry mouth, flushed skin, fatigue, irritability, headache, urine begins to darken in color, urine output decreases Moderate Dehydration: (call a medical professional): All of the signs of mild dehydration, plus: skin doesn't bounce back quickly when pressed, very dry mouth, sunken eyes, (in infant - sunken fontanel, the soft spot on the head), output of urine will be limited and color of urine will be dark yellow, cramps, stiff and/or painful joints, severe irritability, fatigue, severe headache Severe Dehydration: (call emergency number): All of the signs of mild and moderate dehydration, plus: blue lips, blotchy skin, confusion, lethargy, cold hands and feet, rapid breathing, rapid and weak pulse, low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, high fever, inability to pee or cry tears, disinterest in drinking fluid The easiest way to tell is if your urine is not clear or a light color of yellow. -

17 Days Post Op - Energy Levels
mp8btpc replied to SlimPickens's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My energy level was so sad for the first month, around week 5 I noticed it picking up and now that I am going to the gym I have even more energy then before the surgery. I think it is a combo of getting over the surgery itself, starting to get more from the food you are cleared to eat and losing weight and getting into that fat burning mode. Just try to stay hydrated, get at least 60grams of protein a day and take a good multivitamin. I think your levels should even out. If you still feel really run down by two or so months out you may need to have some blood work done to see what might be going on. Otherwise it sounds pretty normal for day 17 to me. -
A couple times a week I will treat myself to a regular coffee (Pike Place Roast) from Starbucks, with one shot of sugar free vanilla and sweet and low along with a teaspoon of half and half. I usually will have that and my protein bar for breakfast after I drop my kids at school. I haven't noticed it affecting my hunger it actually feels warm and filling, but I am trying to keep my body as cleansed as possible and trying to stay with as much clear liquids as possible.
