  1. I want to get advised to eat some donuts.....anybody have a doctor that might do that for me? LOL I do hope you get relief with your ice cream and get that bp to a normal level...have fun doing so!
  2. I am with Blackberry juice...we are on track with each other we have around the same weight loss and I think our surgery dates were a week apart and we had similar BMI to start. I also eat around 1000 calories a day. I am exercising and I am toning and slimming at same time. I think you need to feed your body, people who are advised to get between 500-600 calories a day just seem baffling to me as to why they are told to do that. Not that I am the poster child for weight loss by any means lol. I just know mine has been steady and consistent and for someone who didn't start off with a bunch to lose I think I must be doing something correct. I try to limit the simple carbs, keep my Protein way above the amount of carbs I do get and eat lots of different veggies. I can say I don't crave the sweets like I used to. I don't crave Snacks. I just eat three good meals and sometimes a little something after dinner. Everyones weight loss will vary and stalls happen though I am crossing my fingers that I can at least get a pound or two a week until my goal. I just don't see the logic in these really low low cal post op diets. I see more people struggling who are trying to stay really low too. I wonder if docs think that we are going to cheat so they give us the low number and hope that by doing so if we do eat a couple hundred more that it will still be within the correct range? Who knows. Blackberry what is Goal weight: 145 and jacked ? hehe . btw that is my first goal weight also, I dont see myself wanting to go any lower then 135...but i think 145 would be perfect for my body shape.

    36 BMI

I started at BMI of around 34.5, that was 8 weeks ago and I am down 35 pounds. The sleeve is a tool and I am working it, I eat small healthy Protein rich foods and I work out 5 days a week including one day of high incline climbing where I burn about 1000 in an hour and fifteen minutes. I think low BMI people can be decent losers if we put in the work, and if we don't put in as much I think we still lose just a little slower. I don't know about anyone else but before surgery I was frustrated that I could work really hard and lose some weight but it was really slow and I would get burned out and give up. Now I feel like I put in the work and my body is responding it is much easier to stay motivated.

5 days til surgery and I'm SCARED!!!!

First it is wonderful that you have such support and it will surely help you with your recovery! Second I think we all felt bad that we were causing undue stress to our loved ones and considering all the what ifs, but put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself if you would resent it if they were doing it for themselves. The answer is probably that you would support them, love them, wish them the best but naturally worry for their safety but would never want them to not go for it. I am 8 weeks out and I have eaten some really spicy chilli Beans the last couple of nights (my mom sent them over and she warned me she went a little haywire with the spice) they were delicious but spicy. I eat so little that they didn't seem to bother me a bit. Best wishes and keep us informed of how you are recovering...I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we are all here for ya.
  5. I had to laugh because I read the thread topic as are there REALLLY GAY people here...as in not a little gay but a lot gay. Then I reread it and figured out where the emphasis was in the sentence...im slow. Either way im a tard but welcome to the forum.

    Previcid

Prilosec and Prevacid were not cutting it for me so my doctor put me on Dexilant which is twice as strong as 40mg Nexium. It has worked wonders after a month of it he wants me to try Prilosec OTC again. He is hoping to get the acid under control then take a modest approach if I can get away with it.
  8. I dont know if it is fortunate or unfortunate that it gets better lol. By week 4-6 food is much more appealing...now at 8 weeks I am eating pretty much everything and sometimes all I want to do is throw a much but I get full really fast. By the time I get full the need to throw a munch is satiated however sometimes I wish I was one of those people who has no appetite.
  9. Thoughts, prayers and best wishes coming her way. Please keep us informed as we all are pulling for her. I will pray for speedy healing, peace and for her to rest comfortably.

    Feeling Guilty

Ignoring top post for my peace of mind, lol. To the real matter at heart...our sisters and my self struggling on this journey and trying to edify one another. mp8btpc, Praying for you, dear heart. He is the great physician, Jehovah- Rapha, "God our Healer". Praying healing for you body and peace for your mind. He loves us unconditionally, no matter what our decisions are. Here are two of the many scriptures that I hold close to my heart during this journey. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2Timothy 1:7 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 I never got notice of the responses I got after my post here. I am so sorry I did not see them. I thank you all for your words of wisdom and of the prayer of peace and healing. Here it is 8 weeks out, I have been successful thus far and soon after my original post I really did find peace with my sleeve and my decision. I still thank god for my healing and pray to give me strength to continue my healthy eating and my focus on exercise. Thank you Cleosan Anio and Sleeve 4 Me You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. Isaiah 26: 3
  12. Congrats! You are doing great, I dont blame you for being happy. You have more courage then I did, I was too scared to get on scale until close to two week time, but look how great it turned out for you lol.

Congrats and I wish you a wonderfully safe and swift surgery and recovery.
  15. Wow so stinking awesome. You look so different and so much younger!
  16. Still trying to like this new setup. I just find myself avoiding the site all together. Sorry to be a negative Nelly.

  17. I agree that it is entirely from the surgery. You would have had to consume somewhere around 15000 extra calories since removal of your gall bladder...I hardly think with your sleeve that is possible. It is one of those side effects of surgery fluids etc. Just focus on recovering from this other surgery and continue eating your protein and getting your fluids. It will drop off there before you know it. Don't be caught up in those pounds, though I know it is hard to see them on the scale. Just think logically and you will realize it isn't a true gain. Don't be sorry about your first post being a cry for help. We welcome you and congrats on your success thus far and welcome to the site!
  18. When I showed my mother the video of the procedure yesterday and some of the before and after photo's of some of the people on this site she brought up a good point. She basically is concerned that I would have the surgery lose the weight only to end up working my way back up to overeating etc and stretching my stomach out and then gain back the weigh. She has a few friends that had stomach stapling of the 80's done and they regained to end up having gastric bypass, another friend has bypass about 6 years ago and has gained all the weight again. Now both of those people I mentioned were women that were extremely overweight to start with and had weight issues pretty much since childhood so I don't know if that might be a deciding factor also. Since the studies on the procedure are only on the record here in the US for 5-6 years (I think) I wonder if in the long run it may be one of the statistics to reckon with? Would having the lap band keep that from happening due to the adjustability of it? Any thoughts or theories?
  19. Has anyone figured out how to set a default font/size/color choice on the new site?

    Cost of vertical sleeve

LOL your earlier post says 350,000. I think it was the typo that made her inquire on what the heck was going on for that to be the amount of the bill. :tongue_smilie:
