Congrats SpideyMom! You are an inspiration to everyone here. I just recently hit -100lbs myself and am now at -104. I feel like I have my life back. Everything is so much easier. Lots of hard work and sacrifice but just like you said, I would "do it again." Cheers

Greetings all. I was just banded on March 7th and I feel great :Banane01:. No pain at all and looking forward to exercising again soon. Not sure when I will be eating solid food but am doing well on the post op diet. Have had some hunger but not overpowering though. Protein helps with the hunger. On full liquids currently. Will find out Monday when I have my post-op appointment when I can progress to solid foods. Cheers :Banane34:

I feel great 5 days out. Can already feel the results. Everything is shrinking and fitting looser.

I am 5 days out from surgery and I feel great. Have been taking it easy on the chores due to being told not to do any bending. The Protein shakes that I use are from Jay Robb. They are somewhat pricey but taste better than a lot of others. You can find Jay Robb's at the Vitamin Shoppe. I take a chewable vitamin that I got at Target. Best of success to you. Cheers :tea:[

Hello March bandsters. Have surgery in the morning and am totally wide awake. Really excited and have been reading the forums tonight. My mom is here with me and we have both gone over the paperwork. You all are inspirations and best of luck to you all as we begin the journey. Cheers

I will be banded on Monday, March 7th :bananajump: Beyond excited. Have been on the 2 week pre-op diet and have done fine so far although starting to get sick of eating Soup. My mom is coming up on Saturday to help me out for a week. Have begun to go through my clothing and will be giving most of them to a friend of mine but keeping some while I am "transitioning" to the new me. Can hardly wait. This website has been a huge inspiration and a big help to me. I found my surgeon here, Dr. Ferrera out of Fort Worth. I go to the support group meetings every Tuesday night. Every little bit help. Well gotta go now. Gotta go make a Protein shake and then will have more soup :smellie:. Cheers :cheers2: :welldoneclap:

HI ALL.....Can't wait to begin my journey!!
Meloveme replied to Raz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have begun the journey and am so excited. I will be banded on March 7 :bananalama: Have been going to support group meetings and have been inspired by all the people there. Took over 2 years to get to this point. Needed to get my support system in place before I even considered this. For me, this is not "the easy way out". It took a lot of courage for me to get to this point. Can hardly wait to see the new me and shopping for the new clothes that go with it  Will be awhile but I am ready for this journey and the challenges that lay ahead. Cheers :cheers2: -
Dr. Adam Smith - Has anyone used Dr. Adam Smith?
Meloveme replied to heflinl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I too can hardly wait to purchase the little black dress. I will be banded by Dr Ferrera on March 7. I am so excited Have done a lot of research and took 2 years to get to this point. I am inspired by Dr Smith though as he has been through what we are all going through. Great staff. Cheers -
Greetings. I am a proud spouse of a retired Army NCO. Received approval in 2 days from Tricare. Have only had to pay for the Psych and Nutrition appointment out of pocket, $225. I know that fills will cost but have some luck in that if I go to support meetings that my doctors office offers, they give you a free fill. Guess I need to check with my doctor to see what fills run. I have yet to be banded but will be on March 7. Can hardly wait. Looking forward to the simple things like buying a dress. Check with your doctor to see if you go to support meetings, if they can give you a break on fills. Cheers

Am I really at THIS point?
Meloveme replied to bigbipper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am at this point. Have been thinking about having WLS for awhile but my insurance, Tricare, did not cover. Recently found out via newsletter that LapBand is covered 100%. Called my Dr's office today and they said that I am covered . Have tried WW, Nutrisystem and even starved down a significant amount of weight 15 years ago. Have spoke with hubby, :tt1: God I love him, about it. Have not had any appointments yet but I am excited to finally be starting the process. Bless everybody  -
Katherine, I am in the same boat as you. Went to a seminar and received a call from the Weight Management Institute today. They are going to check the insurance and get the records from my PCP. I am so looking forward to the "new me."
