Good morning gals. I am starting to feel like myself again. Thank God. Vacation was wonderful. A much needed respite! To update, we did not go to any strip clubs as originally planned. I was game either way, but DH decided it was a waste of money to see something he has at home. (surprise!). I think he just liked the idea of it more than the execution...worked for me. We really had a nice time together but man was I exhausted. I think I slept a total of 10 hours over 3 days. I didn't drink a lot but I drank more than I usually would. I probably had 7 drinks total, but who did I think I was having bloody mary's at 7am in the casino???? That was not me! ha. It was really a good time. Steph-your pics are amazing! I love the skirt and shoes. It is a nice classic look that does not go out of style which is why you can't tell it is 10 years old. BTW, I bet you look as young now as you did when you last wore that skirt. Hot Hot Mama! I am really happy for you. B-man-I am giggling over the marine/cell escapade. That is a riot! BTW, you looked frickin amazing in that halloween outfit. Funny, I was thinking about getting some fishnets for Vegas. I have never worn them before...didn't follow through. But man your legs are smoking! Hot stuff. I am in awe! Your hardwork really shows. Sweet-wtg on the workout. I cannot believe how fast you run. I am definitely on the slower side. I feel like the 4.6 or so jog suits me fine. I am amazed that I can walk at 4.0. There was a time that 3.4 was a struggle! Keep it up. I finished week 3 day 1 today and felt great. Sorry to hear about dh. I am praying for him. I truly appreciate all the sacrifices you guys make for the rest of us. Thank you so much! Where is my Nat? Nikki-how are you and baby feeling? Boo and Claud-are you guys together yet? I feel a little out of the loop! Okay girlies-milestone for me...I hit 70 pounds down!!!! I am very excited. I have 6 pounds to go until I am in onederland. Things are really happening all of a sudden. I think the changes are becoming much more obvious lately because a lot of people are commenting. Weird! I feel great though. Have a great day....

Couch to 5K - Week of 11 ? 17 November
Kaydotrn replied to losingjusme's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good morning, I was considering doing week 2 again since it is Thursday and I have not run since Monday. Being on vacation this past weekend fouled up my routine. Not to mention I have a really bad pain in my neck (not my husband but an actual pain) that is from the plane ride home from Vegas. I tried to workout yesterday but it hurt too much. I usually can tough that stuff out. At any rate, several days late, I started week 3 workout 1. This time I did it at the gym as opposed to outside and I found it a little easier. I want to condition myself to run outside, but I know that with the weather getting cold, I will be better off doing it at the gym. Well, I got through the workout and felt fine. I actually did a good weight circuit too so I feel caught up for the week. Or at least I am trying to convince myself of that. Hey losing, what kind of shoes did you get? I am laughing at the Herman-munster-esque reference. You wouldn't believe the orthopedic monsters I am picturing...but hey, whatever works. Good luck on week 2 to you and jm. I think it is a good idea to listen to our bodies and take this slow. There is no point in rushing and then hurting ourselves...then where will we be? JM-have you tried South Beach? I have done that off and on in the past and found it really helpful in getting the scale moving. It is pretty simple to follow. If Atkins fits you better though, stick with that! We all need to find what works! -

This drives me nuts too. Can you imagine losing those big numbers every week? What the heck! And then even the trainers are disappointed. That annoys me. I finished week 2 Sunday (instead of Friday) while I was on my vacation in Vegas. I am proud that I actually did it. I used the treadmill where at home I jog outside. I cannot say which one I find more difficult. I didn't have all the natural hill of outside, but I think my speed was a little faster and more consistent on the treadmill. At any rate, I felt like I needed a hip replacement later that day...but I also walked for miles through the hotels and on the strip. I am afraid of week 3 (never mind week 4 or 5). Does anyone remember it being a tough transition? I am so impressed with everyone's success so far. Keep it up guys and thanks for the continued motivation. I lost 3.5lbs this week..but I attribute a lot of that to my bodybugg as well. It keeps things in perspective. -
Much love girls... I am back and completely exhausted. I just read everything but my eyes are freaking crossing and I need to go back to sleep. I think I slept about 10 hours in the past three days! The hardest thing was not having a scale. ha. I had not been away from one in so long. First thing I did when I got home today (after hugging my girls) was weigh....down 3.5lbs! How cool is that? I did my workout (finished week 2 of couch to 5k) and walked and danced....I am awestruck that I lost weight on vacation. Personals later...I am going back to bed. Love you love you!
-
LOL..I ate the white chocolate cookie and nearly hurled. I couldn't even finish it. Blech! The candy one wasn't as bad. Maybe it would be better if it were heated. Or maybe I should just go eat some chicken. ha. I lost 2.5 pounds last week with my bugg after being on a plateau. Naturally I wanted to lose 10 but I know that is silly, and I am just glad to be in the losing game. I am off for my run. have a good day!

MOrning all... I am here stalling but I know I need to get out and do my run in the next few minutes to fit it in before I pick up the girls from school this afternoon. Thanks so much for all of your encouragement. It is a great feeling to have all of your support. Sweethot-you are my girl and I love that you brought the c25k to our steady thread. It was great to be reminded that I can run. it has been months, but I am glad I am picking it back up. Thanks! Losing-btw, I am loving those latte shakes. I think of you whenever I have one. Trystelle-way to go on the misses clothes. Feels so good doesn't it? Delta-not braggy at all! It is nice to see what we can do if we stick to it. I appreciate the encouragement. Whosya-love the picture! You are a ray of sunshine! JmCambra-glad you are feeling better. Sorry about the nausea. Weird, huh? It must have been a fluke. Take care! -
MOrning all... I have been substantially MIA on the postings, but reading everything. I have a HUGE HUGE exam tomorrow night that I am freaking a bit over. Plus, I am leaving for my trip Friday. That and trying to get the kids settled for their trip away to Grandma's while Mommy and Daddy play is leaving me with NO time to chat and it is killing me. I wish I could just pick up the phone and call you all. So, I have minutes to spare and wanted to say hi. I am totally digging my bugg still (thanks for asking B-man) this thing is super cool. I cracked the plateau and lost 2 pounds this week. I would have preferred 10 pounds, but I know that is not realistic. Damn biggest loser show makes me think it is, but I am not exercising hours a day. I am off to do my day 2/week 2 couch to 5k run. Loving it. Way to go Brandi on your run. It feels great when you just keep going, huh? Run, Forest, Run! Nat-love love love the NSV. Give yourself a big hug! I had that happen too. I notice when I do my after workout stretches, my legs and arms go to places they have not in a long time. Never mind when DH and I are intimate...wooohooo them is some goood positions. HAHAHAHA Okay girls, I cannot get any more personals. I love you all and love hearing all the good stuff..i totally keep seeing hot guys dipped in chocolate now..thanks a lot girls. haha. I hope to be on after my test Thursday and before I fly out Friday. Wish me luck on this freaking exam, so much rides on it. AAARGH!

Good evening, Thanks losing for starting this thread. I felt desperate to report today that I did week 2/day 1 this morning. I feel silly being so excited that I ran a 90 second interval but it felt great. The 2nd to last one was all uphill and I thought I was going to die. In the past I have run a greater distance if I am on the treadmill but I want to try to train outside as much as possible. I don't know if it makes a big difference. Happy Birthday Trystelle!!!!! -

Looking for a new C25k thread????? Is it up to anyone to start it? -
OMG-the boards was down since last night and I was freaking because I wanted to check in so badly. I think I have checked online 50 times and now that I have to leave for my clinical, it is up. Figures! I have just a minute to say hello so please excuse the lack of personals (i love you all). Annie-I am so happy for you. Normal, huh? I have no idea what that must be like. I think I jumped over normal in about 10th grade. I got close to normal once as an adult and that felt great...can't imagine what real normal feels like. Rock it!!! I am psyched for you. Sweet-I started week 2 of the couch to 5k today. My second to last running interval was all uphill. I was freaking but did it. I know it is only 90 seconds but it felt like an eternity. Let me know how week 3 went today. I have to tell you this whole podcast thing has opened up a new world. I actually downloaded some yoga programs and did one this morning. 20 minutes. I sucked a little bit but I know if I keep practicing, I will get it. It was cool. According to my bodybugg, I have burnt 68% of my target calories already today and now I have a shift at the hospital. Today will be a good calorie deficit! Psyched. As far as the cost, I don't know why the price keeps changing. For those of you interested, in the exercise forum there is a bodybugg thread. Check in there and they will keep you updated on price changes so you all can snatch one up next time there is a sale. If I hear of it first, I will definitely let you know. Love to you all. I may see you late night tonight.

WELCOME BACK BETTY!!!!!!! She is looking hot Booboo---not as hot as you of course. VA-sounds like you are having another fun weekend. enjoy. I will be thinking of you while the Pats trample those Colts (hehe B-man). Let me know what happens when you talk to your MD. I bet it has a lot to do with not having had a fill and losing weight. I could eat a ton before I got this last fill and I had that same time span as you have now in between fills. Nat-I love you too girl. Y'all crack me up! I hear Britney say that too. So freaking funny..."it's Britney bitch" hahahaha. So glad you had that R&R day yesterday. And you are right, it is only money, so buy yourself a bugg if the price is right...join me in debt as we work our way to skinny bitches... I LOVE MY BUGG! I should be a spokesperson. ha. It is totally keeping me accountable and I love seeing my calorie burn. I am a solid 208 this morning. HELLO....after weeks of plateau. AND I actually went and did my run thing in the pouring rain today. How is that for motivated. I just hope it lasts. I am sorry that you all will have to deal with my excitement and blathering on about this thing but deal..that is what friends are for! ha. Steph-how was the anniversary dinner? Today is my anniversary. We are having a little Nor'Easter. It is cold, my heat is not working, and it is dreary outside. AND I have to study. Happy flipping anniversary to me......hehe Have a great one..I am sure I will be back later to check in when I get SICK of studying.
-
OH NOOOO!!!! We are going to have some brawling on the board. I am a diehard Pats girl (even back when they were horrendous!). Me and VA and going to team up on you Brandi! Ha! At any rate, it should be an exciting game with the 2 undefeated teams playing each other. We'll see on Monday who gets the bragging rights. I just look forward to an exciting game. Go Patriots!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

I finished week 1 of c25k today. I am anxious and excited to start week 2. I need to download the podcast. That really helps me a lot. Does anyone doing the c25k use podcasts? I NEVER work out on the weekends, I just like to take the time off...but I knew I needed to do my run today. ::::patting myself on the back for something I should be doing anyway::::: Suzzie-I can relate to the flappy arms issue...I have been desperately trying to work out my arms, they are getting stronger and a little less saggy, but are still flappy..waaaaa. Let me know how it goes for you.

Whosya-sorry to hear about the knee! Take it easy though. I am not sure what the right answer is, but I would listen to your body and not push the knees too much. They used to be a big problem for me (just walking up and down stairs) and I still struggle with lunges. I hope you get the advice you need. I just finished week one! YAY. I went out in the pouring rain and wind, so I feel super proud of myself today. The old me would never have walked or run in the rain (god forbid I get wet). hehehe Have a great weekend. BTW Losing, caramel latte atkins shake=yummy! Thanks for the info. -
one more question: Has anyone flown on a plane with their bodybugg. I am going on vacation next week and I am wondering if I can take it with me. I am afraid that with the new travel regulations, it may get confiscated. Anyone have any idea????
-
Morning bbusers! I am in love with my little bugg...he needs a name....hmmm. I will have to think of one. Can I just tell you, that in 3 hours I have reached 65% of my target calories burned for the day!!! Psyched! I worked this morning (I caer for a quadriplegic woman) so it is a 2hr mini workout, then I just did my couch to 5k run. I am thrilled. Sherry-i have a similair feeling. I too am finding that this is keeping me more accountable to the food thing. I am measuring again and noticing how off I have been on the portions. Not to mention I am floored by how many calories I can actually consume if I am not careful. I had to go out for a walk last night to hit my deficit because I had eaten a little halloween candy. I am shocked how quickly the calories add up (I won't eat anymore of it, since it is not worth it). I am already down a solid 2 pounds. YAY. I hope your DH gets into the logging of food. It is a tough transition, but I think it really helps keep things in check. He is banded too, right? To all of you just getting the bugg..enjoy. I am so pumped and I thank everyone else's enthusiasm here for convincing me to splurge. 3 days in and I feel it was worth every penny.
-
Whacked..I just pretended to buy another bugg to see about the discount, and now it is 329 plus 6.98 shipping. To those of you that got it for 180..way to go, do a happy dance. Weird though, huh?

:kiss2::kiss2::kiss2:Steph:kiss2::kiss2::kiss2: Happy anniversary! Yup, mine is tomorrow, but we aren't celebrating. I am working and studying this weekend. woohoo. Actually, I want to save all my $$$ for Vegas next week so I don't mind not doing anything this weekend. Hubby sounds sweet...take a pic of the flowers, I will live vicariously through you. My DH is not a flower guy. Enjoy your dinner tonight wherever you go (hopefully the heartburn will be gone soon). Nikki-what a gorgeous baby boy in there. I love those ultrasound pics. I am thinking about how excited I felt when I first saw mine...awwwww. So sweet. I cannot believe we are going to have a band baby! How are you feeling? Nat-love ya as usual. How was your day in bed? It sounds divine. I could really use a day like that. BTW, how the hell do you keep yourself to 600 cals/day???? I actually try to aim for 1200/day per MD orders. Some days that is tough since I am pretty snug. Yesterday was about 950 cals. I think today I will hit 1200 no problem. As long as I know I workout enough to have a 1000 calorie deficit a day than I am cool. I need to get moving though since I don't have a big enough deficit today... Enough cal talk...have a great weekend. I hope work is better on Monday! Oh an I also wanted to say "yumm-o" and "evoo" per Rachel Ray...hahahaha Claud-good luck on the fill tomorrow! VA-why do you ask about the pouch stretch? I actually have no idea myself. Thininde-please post more often. All of our struggles are better to get through together. We all have them!
-
I was told that when you put it in your cart, it goes to $180 or something. Look in the exercise thread for more info. I just tried to go on the website and it is frozen...hmph! I want to get to the bottom of this.
-
chopping...uhhh...broccoli! That was one of my favorite snl skits. hahahaha

Morning ladies...drumroll please::::::::::::::::::::so I saw 208.5 on the scale this morning! I technically cannot change my ticker since I have told myself the weigh in day is Monday. But I am still so flipping excited to mention it. I hope it stays since I have a tendency to dip and come back up. Regardless I have NEVER seen that number before. I have not been under 200 since before kids 12 years ago...I can see the light.....:::basking in the glow:::: I love this bodybugg! Okay NAT-a quick overview-it is a device that is on an armband. It has some weird sensors when you wear it on your skin and it somehow counts your steps and the heat (joules, which are calories) that come off your body. You sync it with your computer and it tells you how many calories you burn. It is really neat. Then you have to log in your intake and it tells you what your calorie deficit or surplus is. It is so motivating! I am telling you, it made me want to park farther away yesterday and walk more. It kept me out of the kids halloween candy. I don't know how long it will keep me motivated but I am psyched right now. And another FYI, it is right now on sale for $180 at 24hr fitness. I paid 229 last week...just in case anyone is interested. There are some threads on it in the exercise forum. I did my day2 of couch to 5 k yesterday outdoors. I love the podcasts. That really helps. Thanks again to B-man who put in the link. Today I hit the gym for some cardio and weights. I was there about 1hr 45min. Worked up a good sweat. Okay, sorry I am being so self centered..I am just excited. Nikki-I am not sure I know how to add the pics here. If I figure it out, I will def help! Transformer-wtg on the fill...keep us posted and don't beat yourself up! You are losing and doing great. VA-so how was the vineyard? No details???? I hope it was a great day. Steph-is your tummy feeling better??? In my house we call that booboo belly. yuk. I am going to go fold laundry (dread) and watch Greys Anatomy. Talk to you later.

Couch to 5K - Week of 28 October ? 03 November
Kaydotrn replied to losingjusme's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
LOL losing-I notice on one of the intervals on week one he doesn't say "go" either and it throws me off for a second or two and I usually try to run an extra couple of steps on the other end of it. Funny, I noticed that too. I will run day 3 tomorrow of week 1 so today I went to the gym and did 30min of other cardio and some strength training..and some nice stretches. aaaahhhh. BTW, I found those Atkins caramel latte shakes and I am really excited to try them. Probably tomorrow since I already had a nectar fuzzy naval before the gym today. I'll let you know what I think. Thanks for the info about them. -
Beautiful pic whosya! Thanks for sharing. Exercise for me today: 35min elliptical beast, 40 min weight training (upper and lower body as well as 100 crunches). Feeling strong and motivated thanks to all of you. Luckily, glazed donuts are not my weakness...hahahaha
-
Nice job on the bargain shopping people! Way to go. I am a little envious about the price drop, but at the same time I am so excited to be sporting this thing that I don't even care!!!!! Okay, so I wore my bug yesterday and after battling the scale between 210 and 211 for weeks, I actually saw 208.5 this morning...HUH???? Is that possible??? I don't know what it is...this thing motivated me to get out and walk more, jog a little, park farther away from my class, actually run up 3 flights of stairs to get something instead of being a lazy arse and sending my kids....Plus I didn't eat the halloween candy because I didn't want to log it in. I think this is just the kick in the pants I needed! I will be in onederland by Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your buggs everyone.

Can I play? Day 2/week 1 of C25K. Feeling good today. Will hit the gym for strength training tomorrow.
