Geeez, thanks for the butt comments. haha Happy New Rear and all that... I probably should have included a side shot so you can get the true "booty" dimension. It is definitely smaller than it was though. I just want the belly to go away, it would make the butt seem more acceptable. Anyway-just got back from the gym. Feeling good even though I wasn't up for going today. For those of you that have not made the jump to exercising, I promise you if you commit to it for the next month, it becomes addictive. I remember the first day I drove to the gym in September, and I sat in the parking lot not wanting to go through the door. I actually called my sister from my cell phone and figured if she were home, I would visit her instead. Luckily she wasn't there and I got off my butt and walked in there. I have been a regular since. Take it slowly and work up to a regular schedule. I am there 5 to 6 days a week now and at least an hour a pop. I never thought I would be able to do that! I don't have time now to reply to everyone..but I will tonight when I am at school! Happy Friday.

Okay--phewww 4 pages read. You guys are fast, but at least I know you all. Jill-to answer your question, some of us were trying to reach out to our girls that we felt we bonded with fromthe beginning. I am still planning to be a member of the December thread andthe rest of LBT, but this is a place where I hope we can all expand our friendships. The exclusiveness is not meant to be hurtful, it is more of a filter so we can chat with our friends. I will still look to give and get support on the original thread, but I will come here first to check up on my "steady girls". I also do not oppose having a private group on yahoo or something where we can post pictures and things that won't be broadcast across the WWW a la Paris Hilton. hehe Transformer-congrats on the loss and great checkup. I know I could do a backflip right now if I thought I could eat some tuna. Sad but true! Sweethot-do you need some tough love? :::looking for Nat:::: (btw, I don't think anything Nat said was remotely unsupportive) Anywho-wakeup fresh tomorrow and have a plan for the day. if we don't take the time to plan, we will all be faced with that type of temptation. We should not get ourselves to the point of being so hungry that we make bad choices. It is a learning experience. Please ask for ideas if you need some for foods. I am sure one of us will be in a similair spot and will have the answer. BKwalling-I too have a pain about an inch below my port that I equate to having someone pull hot thread through my stomach. Sometimes it hurts like a Mo'Fo' and other times it goes away. I thought forsure I flipped the port or something, but I gather it is normal and part of the healing process. Nat-all I keep hearing is "I don't think you're ready for this jelly my body's too bootylicious..." I hope you got your jelly onthe elliptical beast. You know what it takes. Don;t be down. It is just one day on the long road that will lead to great things. No sense in asking how you got here either. The fact is , you did, (as did I) now start moving in the other direction. Dawn-are you potty training? Those days are fun ::sarcasm::: I think I drove around with a potty seat in my loser cruiser for about 6 months. I had a potty on wheels. haha. But whatever it takes. Good luck. Get some rest. Levi-congrats on the transition to mushies :::green with envy!!!::: Chubby-I too measure..I think it is vital! I am totally scale obsessed right now. I think I am on it at least 2 times a day (bad girl). I haven't had it go up yet, but I am still on liquids. I know my slowdown is right around the corner. Now get measuring! Steph-sorry to hear about that kneecap. ouch. Laughing my behind off at barrellbelly and shelf butt. I think I have it on both sides. Though I don't mind my butt that much. It is big,but the shape isn't too bad. )okay, I think I am going nuts...I am totally going to post a behind shot! hahaha) Sorry to hear about the crappy TOM too. ugh...any sooner than 28 days sux! Hang in there and stay away from the sweets. Okay, I know I am missing a bunch of people so I will send a collective hug! I will try to catch up more. There was a lot of reading and typing and this girl is tired. I had my midterm. It was fine and we got to leave at the end. I cannot go to sleep yet because my 10 year old is at the Bruins game and I need to wait up,,,hohum. Got an hour on the treadmill today. Burned 600 calories-or so the machine says(more than I ate--scary!). There are probably 10 more posts in here in the time it took for me to type this. hehe. Talk you lovelies later!

I signed up. I would love tohave a real private group since I am an anonymously banded chick in my area and I would love to share photos andstuff of my progress that I cannot post here. Just an idea.

Hello Everyone! Back from my stinkin' midterm. Phew.... I am still compiling the surgery list so if you want in, please continue to send me PM's (not to be confused with PMS since I need no help in the chocolate/saltcraving department). I will continue to gather info and post it later this evening. As it stands, I have 20 people on the list. Wow! Sx date, screenname, place, weight at time of sx Maybe then we can expand the list to follow weekly or monthly loss. We'll see. I had a good committed day today. I am sucking down my liquids..adding horrific Protein powder to my crystal lights (not too tasty, but it won't be forever). I was on the elliptical beast for over an hour today. Unfortunately now my upper back is sore thanks to the arm movements. I do love my gym though. One week until my post op visit. I am so excited! I really am looking forward to the mushy stage. Continue to kick @ss fellow bandsters!

I would love that...anytime is good for me as well. Does anyone have a time that is best for them? If possible, I would love to meet before the lunch rush gets to be too much. What do you all think?
-
Seal??? As hungry as I am, I think I will pass. hahahaha Okay, VABandster was the first to email her shtuff..so email me those surgery dates and I can get the list going!
-
Nat-thanks for the yummy food ideas. I love turkey sausage. Looking forward to that stage. I would be more than happy to compile a surgery date/name list if anyone wants to PM me the info. Let me know. I think it would be a good thing to have.

Hi everyone, I am writing out of curiousity about a pain I am experiencing off and on. It is just below my port scar line and it feels like a tearing sensation..sort of burning as well. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would put it at about a 6. It is not currently hurting but it really freaked me out for about 10 minutes today. I still ahve some swelling in that area from the surgery and I am wondering if as the swelling goes down, things are just adjusting and I am feeling some pain. I am also off the pain meds for the past 2 days or so so maybe it was there before and I wasn't feeling it. Of course, paranoia sets in and I am thinking that the port is flipping or something..argh. Does anyone remember this type of discomfort? It is obviously not so bad that I felt the need to call the MD yet. I hope I don't get it again. Thanks in advance.
-
Congrats on DH's date! It may seem far away, but it will be here before you know it! I know it is hard to leave the little ones, but I am sure the kids will be okay. It will be worth it in the long run!
-
I have not seen the MD yet! I go on the 11th. I do think it odd that I had no follow up after the surgery for 3 1/2 weeks but what do I know. I did get a follow up call and I know if I had any problems, I would be seen in a heartbeat. The support groups are 2 times a month but they are on nights I have school so this is my only support too. It is great so I am not worried, but I would like to physically get together with people. Anyone in the mood to visit Boston???
-
Oh my this thread is busy today! I am sure by the time I finish this message, there will be a dozen more posts! I am in school right now and totally not paying attention, which I may regret when I have my midterm tomorrow. Ah, it's open book so I am not too worried. Nat-thanks girl for the Protein list. I had no idea that meats had that much protein in them. I only knew about cottage cheese, milk and my Protein drinks. I like your whip ideas. I cannot wait for mushies next week!!!!!! As far as Water, I am drinking enough but not near as much as I was before surgery. I make a water/protein shake in the morning, then usually have another 24 oz bottle throughout the day and a giant travel mug of decaf tea at night and about 6 oz before bed. Then I pee three times before I wake up (hopefully not in my bed though-haha). mystique-hang in there girl. You will learn how to fight the head hungries. We all will, but it is a battle. I especially feel right now like I have to fight since I don't feel much for restriction, I crave real food, but I know I cannot eat it. It is frustrating though. I want plenty. I want a grilled chicken sand from Wendy's, I want a hot dog-something I never eat or crave until now. UGH. I hate that food has this wacky hold on me. It is a journey we are on though and we will get through it. Denise-glad you are here. I know it is busy, but there is a lot of support here. I think if you are getting enough protein, you should not experience hair loss. I hope that is the case anyway. B-man-wtg on the exercise. As far as the elliptical, once you get past that wall and build up on the minutes, time flies. I do around 45 minutes, but I have stayed on for an hour because something good was on tv at the gym and I wanted to finish watching it. You just get used to it. I remember when I first did it and 5 minutes killed my legs. The only drawback is if I am on too long, my feet fall asleep. BTW, you don't want to challenge me to a race...I am a vicious competitor! hahahahaha you wait and see. BKwall-I have a sister in law like that too-butthead. Whatever. Don't let it bother you. I think that is one reason I kept this to myself. I don't need a crap load of opinions or people policing my weightloss-I will lose my mind! Hang in there. You are kicking butt and the weight will come off-BTW, you are beautiful now. I know we all keep referring to you cute hubby, but hey, you are a catch too! Okay-keep the topics rolling. You all make my boring 4hr/night class fly by. pgducote-wtg on the positive attitude. I think you are right on with that theory. I am upbeat but definitely not loving this whole liquid for 3-4 weeks thing. bleck. Maybe your happy way will rub off on me
-
Yeah, that doesn't sound too appealing. But I too am eating things I don't love for the sake of getting in my protein. I put ascoop of 20gram unflavored protein powder in mywater bottle with one of those 4C flavored Water mixins. It is foamy and a little thick but palatable. We do what we have to do. I am trying to make my goals fitness oriented, but secretly I would love to be at 232 by my MD appt on the 11th. Doubtful but it would be SWEET!

((Jill)) hang in there. 15 pounds is great. You are still healing. Give yourself some time to adjust. I know it is frustrating. RNY definitely means faster weightloss. Your weight will come off in it's time as well. It is so hard to not want it off yesterday! I understand. B-man-can't fight you girl! Love ya too much. hehe. BKWall-WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING AT ME? just kidding. How are you doing? Are the kids back to school today? Mine are-woohoo (is that terrible? I just like the routine and I could get my butt back to the gym) Douglas-nice to meet you and thanks for sharing. Your diet seems similair to mine except I am liquids for 3 weeks (but not clear). Can't wait for mushy food. Carol-glad to hear you are doing well and the jeans are getting bigger! Exciting. I went back to the gym today. I plannedtotakeit slowly and just do30 minutes onthe elliptical, but I did 45 since there was a good show on tv that I was watching. I wanted to do some nautilus but I canot do weights without MD's okay. I cannot wait. It seems weird to be there and not do as much as I usually do. I know it will change in time. Have a good day all.

Steph- As promised I found the "Mom Jeans" commercial from Saturday Night Live that made me giggle when you were talking about hating the lowrise jeans. If you get a chance, check it out. So funny.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eoa5ACQnRm0]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/ame]

Yup, I too had a fatty liver and my liver enzymes were above normal. This horrified me before surgery and really helped me to stick to my self inflicted pre-op diet. I was so afraid when they went in for surgery that I would have a giant liver that would get in their way. The liver is an amazing organ that is good at cleansing itself if we stop eating the crap that made it fatty in the first place. I am not sure what my levels are now but my first words upon awakening from surgery were "how was my liver?" and the surgeon said it was beautiful. He also told me about one patient whose liver was so bad they had to do biopsy and it had cirrhosis-despite the fact that she doesn't drink. I was floored to know you could get cirrhosis from a poor diet. There is an incentive to eat better!

(((Nathalie)))) Good luck back at work tomorrow. I hope the day goes okay for you. BTW, how is the new daycare or have you used it yet? I thought I was your only steady...now I have to compete with B-man??/ hmmph! Me thinks there will have to be a stuffin-shakin competition. hahahaha. I too am amazed at how steady the board is! It is great though to see so much support. I am so excited for thekids to go back to school tomorrow and get my butt back to the gym. I have missed it immensely. I am afraid of feeling wiped out since I am not getting much for calories/day. I am not feeling much restriction at this point and I am assuming the healing has made my swelling go down. But I am not starved. I am bored to tears with my Protein shakes, Soup, and runny mashed taters that have become my daily diet, but I am plugging along okay. I look forward to variety and dream of some roasted veggies-zuchini, peppers, asparagus etc. I wonder if they will be well tolerated. Only time will tell. 9 more days until my post op appt and my diet transition. Woohoo. I can get through it! I am really excited to start mushing some food! haha. I ordered the starter kit from Bariatriceating.com to try out some different protein samples. I am not digging the ones I have (Designer Whey) as they are pretty gritty. I will let you all know what I find when I get them. Have a good night all.
