StephC's PS journey/I got approved!!
StephC replied to StephC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
No he didnt' say anything about extra vitamins. But I do have some C tablets here. Do you think I should start taking them? How about your daily vitamins, did you double up on them or anything? I dont' like the iron chewables but I've been taking them just bc I figured it'd help build my blood. -

I found out last night that my daughters athletic banquet is on May 4th. It wouldnt' be such a big deal to miss it except that she's a SENIOR!!! Dang it anyway! I dont' even know if I'll be out of the hospital by then. I plan on going and figure if I'm not feeling up to it I'll just have dh and dd get my food and stuff. Hopefully I'll be out of the hospital by then. The surgeon said plan on 3 days in the hospital. I'll just have to get better fast. -
How much weight have you lost?????

I am VERY excited about the tt! I can't wait. I have my ticker counting down the days and every morning I want to post just to see it go down. I do have to have pre-op tests but nothing like the band and I dont' think they'll ask me to have some of the things like chest xray and stuff since I just had them less then 2 years ago. They said since I'm not a smoker and I'm in good health everything should be easy. I have all my pre-op testing on the 23rd. I just found out last night my daughter has her athletic banquet on the 4th - I dont' even know if I'll be out of the hospital (dr said to plan on 3 days). So many things going on this time of the year! -
:biggrin2:Yep - 20 days! I'm so flipping excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're just 5 days behind me! WOOfreakingHOO! A tummy tuck is something I could only imagine in my wildest dreams. When my sister had hers done I was so jealous but knew it was something that I'd never be able to afford - at this stage of my life anyway - so when insurance said they would pay for it I was thrilled. Now its getting closer it just feels so surreal, like someone is going to call me and say oops we made a mistake. Pinch me please! Faith - hon so sorry your fill didnt' go well. I had one fill that I went in for and we ended up going down to xray for fluro. The last one I had the needle was bent at an angle.

I can't wait to see the pic! You know its so crazy shopping now. Do you find yourself looking at the plus size clothes? I will catch myself and then go wait a minute, move to the ladies and still I've bought two tops in a large that I should have had a medium in, but bc they were t-shirts I didnt' think I needed to bother trying them on. A pleasant waste of money. I need work clothes bc nothing from last season fits but I'm still holding off until after my tt, JUST incase I go down a size! -
Bman I'm so happy for you. Enjoy falling in love. My dd who just broke up with her boyfriend (almost fiance) has started seeing a new guy and thats what I told her. Just enjoy the time you have together, let all the other stuff work itself out. One of the good things about having had a loser bf, is that now you know what to look out for.

Unfill for PS - how to avoid gaining weight?
StephC replied to juliegeraci's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Oh Cheryl so sorry you can't get in until May! My band dr has a fairly small practice so its not too hard getting a fill when you want one. I can usually get in within a day or 2. But just to be on the safe side I figured it was better to schedule a month ahead. I work at a country club with a great chef, with the kitchen just outside of my office with those wonderful smells enticing me all day, without a fill I'd be a gonner. Even with the fill I still struggle with the temptations. -
In a Bit of a Panic - Not sure what to think
StephC replied to jjsmiles's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I feel the same way. Last night while walking with my niece I was telling her that it all seems so surreal. I remember years ago when my sister had her tt, I was so envious - but yet I knew it was something that I'd never be able to have done, definitely not something I would spend money on at this point in my life, but here I am with insurance paying for it. I feel so blessed! I still feel like I'm going to wake up and it'll all be a dream. -

Isn't that the best thing about marriage? I also love my dh more now then when we first got married. I try to tell young couples that if you just get through the tough years it really does get better. -
Unfill for PS - how to avoid gaining weight?
StephC replied to juliegeraci's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Julie I scheduled my unfill for the day before my tt - my band dr wants me completely unfilled for surgery - I was getting scared that I'd start to gain and I've really been working to lose 10 lbs prior to tt so I didnt' want it all to be in vain. My only advice it start using fitday.com or thedailyplate to track your calorie intake. Make healthy choices and try to pysch yourself out by telling yourself you aren't allowed to gain anything before surgery. I also scheduled my re-fill for one week post op. We figure we'd play it by ear and if I happen to be too tight at that time to get refilled then we'll wait a week. I sympathize with you, I actually told my dd today that for supper the night I get unfilled I'm going to have a cheeseburger and fries. How crazy is that. OH and I said, I'm going to guzzle a whole bottle of water. LOL thats my crazy FAT mind working. Yep the best thing for me is not to get my unfill until 3:15 the afternoon before my surgery. -

LJM - you stayed home that first week right? So you had the weekend and then a whole week to rest? As I read everyones ps adventures I have taken notice that those who had lipo seemed to have more pain then the ones who didnt' and also the mulitiple surgery people also seem to have more pain. Thank you for your advice on the lunges. I dont' really know how strong my legs are so thats something to think about. My surgeon said he doesn't see doing any lipo, I don't have any back fat (believe it or not) and he says the only part he's worried about is that inner fat that I have below my ribs and I understand he won't be able to lipo that. I take a hot bath every night and just try to imagine what it'll be like to have a flat stomach - seems almost surreal that I'm really going to get a tt! -
You'd just look like one of the guys.

Cheryl - you must be teeny! I wish you'd post some pics! My youngest dd is 5'2" and she's 115 and a size 3. I can't imagine being so little. Thanks for your encouragement. I'm really excited. I guess I must have been this excited for the band too but all I remember was getting through the pre-op diet. -

I think I'll be ok. My surgery is on a Thursday, and I'll be in the hospital on Friday, hopefully I'll get out before Sat. (dd's sr prom) - anyway I'll have dh and dd to help me around until Monday and I think I should be feeling pretty good by then thats a good 4 days of healing. I'm thinking about going into work on Monday for a couple of hours. Just bc we are closed on Mondays (everyone but me) so I could go in in my jammies and not have to worry about anyone seeing me. Get my payroll and bills done and go home. Then I think I'll take the rest of the week off and not go in again until the following Monday. That'll be day 11 or 12 of my healing. As far as dh being away that week, not a big deal - less of a worry on me. I'm old school - I still get up and pack my hubbys lunch and make his coffee in the mornings, have his supper ready when he comes home from work - all the little wifey things. So for him to be working away from home is a mini vaca for me. Let me clarify dh would never expect me to get up with him or make supper after just having surgery - he doesn't expect me to do it now, its something I like to do. I've been doing it for 28 yrs - its just kinda habit now. Speaking of dh - he's been very supportive about every decision I've made, from the lapband to the tt - he's just so funny about it all. Last night I made porkchops in tomatoes for him, and I took a small bite of the tomatoes and it gave me a tummy ache - I was telling him about it and he said, well after you get that surgery you can just go back to normal. LOL what like I'm gonna get the band removed? Silly men. But he's a sweetie, he's been working for 2 weeks around the yard, cleaning out my flower beds bc he said its better to get it done now before I have my surgery. All that is true, but I never plant my annuals until after memorial day anyway. BUT we have a beautiful looking yard - long before the neighbors - thanks to my tummy tuck! -

My day is fast approaching. I can't believe its just 3 more weeks! This month is moving fast. So many things going on and to top it off I'm back to work full time so that makes my day go so much faster. Bad news is it sounds like dh will be working out of town. Its a good thing bad thing. The good is that the job he is going to is just 30 miles from my oldest dd, who is in college. So that would be really nice for both of them, they can have dinner together and stuff. The bad side is he won't be around after my surgery - and still thats got a good side. He would definitely take the day .. or weekend off for my surgery but then the next week he wouldnt' be around, and yet it would be less for me to worry about. Hmmm And I have my youngest dd, who's almost 18 to help me and take care of me. Its always something. -
From what I've read they can do a little "lift" at anytime, even in the dr's office. I also read about them doing the lipo too.

ok maybe its just me bc I know my turn is coming up soon but geesh LJM it looks so painful! Didn't someone say something about being cut in half? As much as I love the result pics I can't help but cringe and think geesh steph thats gonna be you in 3 weeks. All in the name of beauty! Thanks for sharing LJM, its so good to see how good the results can be. -
Jill - good to hear from you! Breast feeding is good for the baby, I lost alot of weight when I nursed. I always lost weight really fast, it takes so many calories to produce the milk, so if you eat normally your body will take all those calories for the milk and you'll lose weight. Have fun on your cruise. I want to hear about the marine too - details Bman!

First Plastic Surgeon Visit!
StephC replied to crispypanda's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The truth be told I have no idea what my surgeon charges. He was very adament about getting the insurance to cover everything and he has never even brought up the cost. But the first surgeon I saw said the tummy tuck was 10k and he didnt' want to talk insurance at all. I'm kinda anxious to see what the insurance is paying when its done.
