pmsl? LOL I'm glad I made you laugh - wow what I life I've led! Sometimes I amaze myself at some of those memories. I'll have to tell you all about the biker party I was at where it became a shoot out - THAT was a trip!

Nikki I love that poem, I think I posted it here a while ago. But I agree with it 100%! Thanks The strip club saga continues - I have to tell you guys about my experience with male strippers. I think I'll post it on yahoo. I just typed it out and thought its better left for private A fairy princess and Darth Vader came to visit me last night (my neice's kids)

Boo the clubs and the girls I knew ... way back when... were full of drugs and the girls were all wasted ... that was down on the trail in Orlando ... and so needless to say theres no way I would ever venture in again. I've heard that there are nice clubs its just that I never saw one. Bman - I'm so stupid when it comes to this ipod stuff - I really want to do it so I guess I have to ask my teenager to do it for me. I don't even have an ipod but I can use hers. Its so funny that Sweet told us about it bc when dd was home last time we walked she told us how the girls at school do something like it. I'm going to send her the sight so she can do it too. As far as being lazy... ugh... I'm with you on the walking and I really enjoy it but now that its starting to cool off I'm just dreading the treadmill. I've already started to make a list of movies to watch while I walk. I get bored so easy, even Ellen can't keep me entertained. Sweet - wtg on the size 10!!! I'm proud of you and thanks for the info on the couch to 5k. Don't even begin to think we don't care bc we do - I seriously need all you, even when I ramble and you have to skip over half my posts, I still need you. So post all your excitement bc it encourages all of us too. VA - its good to take the dog walking, when I don't feel like walking they (my 2 little girls) look at me like 'please mama we wanna go' so then I get off my butt and take them. Now my big dog (a chesapeake bay retriever) has to come too. She has the underground fencing and she wanted to come so bad she broke through.

I've been to a strip club before - like 25 years ago - I hated it, it wasn't classy at all. My sil was a dancer and it was sleasy and gross and nasty! I only went in to pick her up - it disgusts me even now. I'm still up 3 lbs, Aunt Flo still hasn't shown up. I walked 3 miles yesterday. I've been good about getting my walks in so hopefully that darn scale will move soon. Va - you asked about my daughter in cosmo, she is in vo-tech right now, she should have enough hours in so that she can take her state test in Feb. so she'll graduate from HS with her license. I don't have a problem with her choosing cosmotology for a career, my neice does it and makes about $20-$25/hour (thats with her commission and clientel). What worries me is that she's been dating the same boy for 3 years and I would like her to expand her horizons, if you know what I mean. Sorry I'll have finish this later, can you believe they expect me to work today?

    What's in a Name

I'm real original too - Steph is my name and C is the intitial of my last name. Kat - my hubster calls me woman too - I don't really know how it got started but he always says it lovingly.
  6. My eval was no big deal. He just asked me a few questions about my support - family, friends - said it sounded like I had good support. Told me how it could affect my relationship with dh and he asked me about past diets and also talked about why we eat, stress, boredom, etc and then told me ways I could avoid those situations. It was a breeze.

    Office Worker tips.

I also work in an office... in a private golf club with a dinning room and a chef! Its not so much the sweets but the all the "bar" food - ugh. Thank goodness the season is almost over!!! I drink coffee in the morning and I also use the calcium chews as a treat. Now that I have a good fill I really don't struggle much with the temptations - and as for eating a danish or doughnut - all I can say is OMG I'd be stuck and puking if I even thought about it for too long. With the proper fill it just ain't gonna happen. But I will admit I do give in to a piece of chocolate now and then, bad thing about the band it still allows me to eat chips and candy :boink: So will power is needed in those areas.

hello! I had a great weekend with my daughter. I found a consignment shop near her and got a couple things. We went to dinner, to dessert, to chinese, to the movies (with popcorn), it sounds like alot of eating but truthfully I was very cautious and although I had dessert I only ate about a 1/3 of it and passed it on to someone else to eat. Same with chinese, just a tbsp of my favorites - BUT I'm up 4 lbs!!! I'm a week late on my period, so I'm sure that has alot to do with it and then the chinese always makes me retain water, a double whammy. I'm so sick of this pre-menopause crap. I just either want to get it or not - the guessing game just sucks. Va - did you get the job? Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Bman - hon I know you are depressed, you always do this when you are down. 'This' being going mia ... hon we're here for you, we care about you and if nothing else get on here and tell us life sucks. We want to hear from you, we know everything is sucky right now and we all miss you and care about you. Kay - I think I'm that tight too. I get alittle reflux, not acidy, just yukky, but I try not to over eat. I get the feeling that I need to burp and it just doesn't happen or sometimes I burp 10x! I can't eat anything for at least 2 or more hours when I get up, I drink coffee until 11 or 12 and then I'm hungry. I think I'm only eating about 1/2 cup to one cup of food and I'm stuffed. I eat my protein first and then vegies but I know I'm not getting enough veggies. So keep taking your vitamins. I take the calcium chews and having one of those with coffee in the morning feels like I ate breakfast. :boink: I've had many thoughts that I might be too tight but then I read the boards and I kinda think this might be my sweetspot. I'm at a place where I feel like I'm in control of my eating. Nat - are you mia again? Nikki - congrats on the babster. I always wanted another baby boy - I was just afraid I'd have another girl - not that theres anything wrong with that but my son just wanted a little brother so bad. Transformer, Maurden, Jill - hey girlfriends! good to hear from you!
  10. I supose it would depend on how busy your surgeon is. I had my last doctor visit (had to have 6 months of pcp visits) on Oct. 11, 2006, I had my insurance approval Nov. 11, 2006 and had my surgery Dec.11, 2006 - 1 month from the day of approval. But like I said it will depend on how busy your doctor is and how soon he can get you in. During the 6 months prior to approval I took care of all my other visits, pysch, nutrionist, sleep study, and pre-op testing.

Thank you all for agreeing with me, just one more reason to emphasize men are STUPID!!! Its always double standards with them. Like my dd said to dh, its no different then when a guy sleeps around, all the guys say, oh yeah he's the man, he got his peice... but if a girls sleeps with more then one guy she's a slut. Double standard. Va - you always sound like you have so much fun, winerys and now pj parties? You lucky lady, see there is an upside of being single. Let us know as soon as you find out about the job - we're wishing you the best. The first one off to college is the hardest - kinda bittersweet. My youngest is also a senior and is hard set against college - she's in cosmotology and loves it, believe me we're still pushing school but she'll have none of it. I just pray for the best. Nikki - just wondering about the morning sickness, has it hit or is it over? Hows the band reacting to that? So did the little one have a broken foot, have you heard? Boo - sexy panties...woohoo... watch out dh someone might be horney. LOL But so true, I was just checking out my tags today, I'm thinking I could go a size smaller. I really like Delta Burke's line for the larger ladies, I'm not sure if I'll fit into them still or not... thats a good thing. Nat - still basking in the teensunshine? Its so good to hit those milestones! Are you busy at work or what the fugg? LOL we need your humor here girlfriend. Bman - girlfriend we're worrying about you. How ya holding up? Pull yourself out of that rut and get that pretty face smiling again. Kaydoll - I've been watching your countdown to Vegas. When is your anniversary? Mine is the 2nd - 28 years. Geesh half of you girls could be my children... LOL I'm old. But I'm really young at heart.

Kay - I've been thinking about the bodybugg but I don't want to spend the money, I even ebay'd it - ugh. But please keep us informed on how its going. Didn't Annie have one? Or someone else here? VA - I'm glad you feel over the ex - and I agree poor girl. but ::::more good vibes in the dating game:::: we love ya girlfriend, only the best for you. Bman - feeling any better hon? I wish I could make it all go away for you. Just quick hello's to everyone - I went on so much about my drama that I don't have time for anything else.

    Daughter Jealous

Jeanie I'm also closing in on my daughters size. In fact I've already been in her closet and can actually wear a few of her things, bad thing is that she's in college and her closet at home is pretty empty. She doesn't seem to be jealous but instead she has gotten encouraged to lose some weight too. She's not heavy but was about 15 lbs overweight and she's down 6-7 lbs and her goal is just 8 more pounds. She also is planning a May 2009 wedding so she wants to be at her ideal weight then. The one thing that has really helped us is that we are different body types. She is a total hourglass, busty with a small waist, her butt is kinda flat (which is a joke between all of us) and I'm an apple, I have a thick waist and a small round butt. I just keep telling her even if I do get into a smaller size then her we aren't going to look the same. Even if I have a tummy tuck we won't look the same! LOL I think she likes the thinner me better, I'm sure I'm alot more fun to take shopping now.

The dh (and its not DEAR) and I have been fighting for 2 days! Over the kids. For 20 years we never fought over our kids, and now we fight. I'm going to Philly tomarrow, thank goodness, Lord knows I need a break, my dd is homecoming princess at college so I'm going for that and dh has to work so he can't go (YES!). OK so this is the deal - I feel I'm right and that he is playing a double standard. This is long so if you dont want to read it skip to the next message. DD dated L for 3 years, broke up with him before leaving for college, just knew he wasn't the "one", but after 3 years we were all very close, he to us and her with his family (his aunt even took her on a cruise for her hs graduation). DS and DD were very close and DS was great friends with L. So the break-up was tough. DD and L continued to talk and stay friendly that first year she was at school, but L had a new gf, who he wasn't completely honest with. Alot of crap went on and DD and DS weren't as close as they once were. And then the new gf suddenly became best friends with DS wife - yeah whats up with that? - so whatever - they're friends. The new gf lays down the law and theres not to be anymore talking between DD and L - thats understandable - so DD totally breaks off all communication. Things were good for about 6 months or so. Meanwhile DIL and new gf have become closer, L has began to hang out with DS again - so at a shower for DIL's sister the new gf is sitting near me and tells me how L's dad has been in an accident, so I tell DD about it, she calls L's mom to let her know she is praying for him and thinking of them all. That was back in Aug. So 2 weeks ago when DD was home and I was so happy we had such a nice visit with DD, DS and DIL, she lets it slip that she had called L's mom, well DIL ran right back to the new gf and told her. Last week DD gets an email from L (I personally think it was the gf) telling her that he was over her 2 years ago and she has no business calling his mom or talking to his sisters and finished it off with "I'm engaged now" - so DD responds with I was also over you 2 years ago and I'm sorry you got mad about me calling your mom, I was only concerned. I won't call again and I'm very happy for you and her I wish you a blessed life. So thats that. BUT then this past weekend DS, DH go hunting with L - I say thats bullcrap! This is what DH and I are disagreeing about. I say that if DD can't call his mom or sisters then L shouldn't be over at DS's house or out hunting with her dad. My dh says it was her fault for calling his mom, she shouldn't have opened a new can of worms - bs! I say its all DIL's fault for running to the gf and telling her everything - I think she's the trouble maker and if I wasn't so worried that she'd cut me off and I'd never see my future grandkids I'd tear into her. So am I right? The other thing is everyone is so concerned about the new gf and her feelings what about DD's new bf? I think it was totally wrong of DS and DH to go hunting with L, don't they care that it might hurt his feelings? Can you believe this stupid drama? The hardest part is I have to sit back and keep my mouth shut (except to dh which is why we're fighting) so when my daughter calls me and tells me all this of course I'm siding with her, she's hurt, but I don't dare say anything to my son or daughter in law, it pisses me off just thinking about it.

Paragirl - what you are feeling is normal. When you get your first adjustment you'll feel the restriction. I remember begging my dr for a fill at 4 weeks but he didn't budge. At 6 weeks I got my first fill but since then I've had to get 5 more. Everyone is different. Theres a man from my dr's office who has had his band over a year and is close to goal and has never had a fill, then theres me whos had 6 in the past 10 months. Dutchgrl - of course we'll pray for you. Those fires in CA are frightening!

    Why the Band?

I was actually looking into the bypass when I read about the band. I feel its just so much healthier, theres no malabsorbion and the long term results are much better. I know we (I) may not lose as fast as the gastric bypass but I was more concerned about the health issues. Once they cut that part of your intestine away you never get it back.

Va - woohoo! New guy makes me say... told you so. Did I not say there were more fish in the sea then that guy who couldn't choose between 2 of you? Sounds like a fun way to get in some exercise. Natster! You go girl!! Feeling fine! We CAN DO it! All these little goals are getting us to the big one. Boo - so why not do the barium? It sucks you went in for a wasted visit. You have done so well I'm sure you'll get those last few pounds off. Did you read that girl...EarthtoRachel.. she posted in the before/after thread and she takes pics? She said she lost the first 100 in the first 3 years and the last 30lbs took her 2 years. You are way ahead of her, dont' worry, those last few pounds will come off. Hi Annie!

    Christian bandsters

I may have said this in the other Christian bandster thread but when I was thinking about the band and if it was the right thing to do my sil who had gastric bypass said she felt that the scripture about if your hand offends you cut it off, if your eye offends you pluck it out gave her peace. Her stomach was offending her so she did what she had to. As for me, I prayed about it, started researching bypass surgery and found out about the lapband (I think it was the Lord) then I tried to get it done with my dh's insurance and they said absolutely no bariatric surgery. So I prayed some more. I was able to pick up insurance at my job, I qualified and it paid 100%. I feel it was God the whole time. He just kept opening doors. I feel very blessed to have the band.

Bman - I'm so glad you posted! I'm sorry you're feeling down. Maybe you need rechecked for the mono? I can't believe you aren't losing with the way you are eating. I hope this fill helps. As far as the trial goes, we are going to keep praying for you and I'm going to pray the judge throws the case out immediately, the whole thing is so ridiculous!
  23. StephC

What do you do for you???

I have my nails done. I read - I always have a book going. I spend Sunday afternoon on my bed - reading, watching tv, whatever I want. I play Bunco once a month with my girlfriends (although we're on hiatus right now) I have dinner with my best girlfriend at least once or twice a month. I don't get my hair done in a salon bc my dearest niece/shouldbe daughter is a stylist. I save hundreds $$$ bc she does it for me at home for free! I think I'd like someone to clean for me but I'm such a fruit that I'd have to clean house before they came to clean. But its a wonderful thought. Diaper days are done and long gone! Looking forward to a grandbaby within the next couple years.

Was anyone banded in December of '06?

Scorpio - do you count your calorie intake? You may be taking in alot more calories then you realize, if you have good restriction then you need to resist the "easy" foods, chips, ice cream, foods that go down easy. Then start switching it up to protiens, meats, cheeses, vegies - some go to the south beach diet to get it all going again. Maybe try that? Denise - I don't think you'll gain 5 lbs from a few dinners out and birthday cake. You may not lose anything but I think we can eat those thing in moderation now and then and still maintain. I know for myself I was eating whatever I wanted and my band allowed me to for a couple of months and didnt' gain a pound. In fact over those couple months I lost a pound or two. Doesn't it make you want to say.. I LOVE MY BAND!

Kaydoll - wtg on the 10 lbs. Do you think its due to the new fill? I'm glad your bp is down too, I'm sure all the exercise has really paid off. BK - hows the house coming along? Are you still going to school? I remember last year you were trying to juggle job, school and life. Sweethot - I printed out phase one of sb and thought hey I can do this. Then for supper I ate pirogies - I only ate 2 and was miserable, I don't know why I push the fricking dough issue! Sorry to hear the little one was sick. Bman - hon we're worried about ya, check in soon. Claud hang in there, its gotta be terrifying. You're in our prayers. Boo - good to hear Betts is coming along, if you are picking out paint it won't be too much longer. Va - I know what the grazing is like. I'll be fighting it next month when I get laid off. Once you get back to work you'll get back into the bandway again. You sound like you have alot of supportive friends, thats good. Nat - what up ladylove? Nikki did I tell you that you look great? And how exciting to feel the flutters of a new life. I am one of the few and insane who absolutely LOVED being preggos. The only complaint was when the babe got hiccups at midnight when I was trying to sleep. How's the challange coming? I walked in the drizzly rain last night, did 3 miles. I said to my neice please walk with me bc I did this challange and if I don't walk with you I have to walk the treadmill. So she walked with me.
