Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA
StephC replied to kareyquilts's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Karey - I'm walking about 45 minutes a day - not a whole lot but I'm finally moving again. I was a lump this winter. Question for you who are tucked. What happened to your band scars? I didnt' see any on Amy. My band dr said they'll just be lower, he joked that we won't be able to use the scar to find the port anymore and it got me thinking about where they might end up. -

LOL yeah that must be it! He's doing another lady from my support groups panny - I'm anxious to see how it comes out. I hope he does a good job. I don't know if I mentioned this but the first dr I saw is young, 40's I think, and the one I'm going with is older - I'd guess late 50's early 60's - on the one hand I like the idea of a young dr who's fresh and up on everything, and on the other hand I like the older more experienced dr. What do you guys think? -
thanks Boo - its good to see the scale move. I told my dr that I'm only losing about 1 lb a month and he said thats perfectly normal at my stage. hmmm so I guess I'm gonna have to kick some normal but and become abnormal if I want to lose 10 lbs this month!
-
Boo - what happened?
-
I love it when you all post! Bman - hey 18 monthes will fly by, and you'll be down so small! You must be close to 100 lbs gone now, aren't you? The gym at work sounds WONDERFUL, I wish I had something like that. Boo - get well ((((boo)))) Va - I'd say you need a fill, time yourself. I ate 1/2 a toasted sandwich and watched the clock, I was only staying full 2 1/2 hours. But if I ate the wrong food I would pb, so I don't think the pb'ing has much to do with the fill, I think its more about how well you chew and what it was you ate. I got on the scale this morning and I am down to 163! 2 lbs this week! woohoo - I'm going to update my ticker. I started walking with my neice again so maybe just maybe I'll get to 150 before ps.
-
good for you Julie. I wish I could lose 4 lbs in a week!

Jill were you there tonight? I had to run out right away bc I was meeting my neice to go walking. You have to grab me and say hey I was talking to you on LBT. I went in to my band dr and got a fill today. I guess that means I'll have to update my signature. He told me that he wants to remove my entire fill before my ps. He said you don't want to risk the chance of vomiting from the anethesia. I said well how will you put it back in, I don't want 2 cc's this week and then next month another couple, and he said a week after I'm out he'll put the full amount back in. So thats cool. I told him I was only losing about 1 lb a month and he said at the stage I'm in thats very normal. I really want to get down another 10 before the tt so I'm going to be working my butt off. The fill is good, I'm tight tonight. I've been on broth all day and thought I was starved until I ate a few nuts. Wrong. They found the toilet. So I'm sipping hot tea and feel much better now. This fill just might do the trick. -
I love reading everyones opinons. I am approved for the tt and panny, the insurance is paying 100% so that tells you I definitely need one. I also have the hanging, swingy boobs but dh doesn't care, he loves me just the way I am. The rest of me is pretty tight, my arms, butt and thighs are ok the way they are. I'm sure I won't have any more surgery after the tt. I haven't even thought about how I'll look in a swimsuit, I've always had to wear one with a skirt bc my "apron" wants to fall out the leg opening. OH geesh the visual on that! yuko! Can you imagine a young kid seeing something like that, it could damage him for life!

hello everyone! I've been missing in action - checking out the plastic surgery threads. I got approved for a full tt and I'm just sooooooo excited! I hope to have it done by the end of April. I go in next thurs. and will get my date then. I'm going in for a fill today in hopes of losing 10 more lbs before the tt. Scrappy-Friend had her band surgery yesterday - I'm sending warm hugs and praying for you.

StephC replied to jetdeck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hello ladies - I'm not from your area but my dd goes to college in Phoenixville, and nannys in Exton. She also has a friend who nannys in the Exton area who's employer was recently banded, its not one of you is it? My dd gave me her email address and told her about LBT and I lost the email address - I'll be seeing Erin (the nanny) this weekend, she's coming here for Easter so I'll get her email address and let her know about the site... and you local bandsters. -

Karey, you are taller then me. I'm only 5'3" and right now I'm 165, so I have more on me then you did when you had your ps. I'm really trying to lose 10 lbs before the surgery, that will put me 10 lbs from the "normal" bmi. I started at 231 and a 40 bmi, and I'm thrilled with my band. I can't wait for the tummy tuck, I'll be thrilled with it too. I go for a fill today so hopefully that'll kick me in the butt and get me started losing again. I just noticed yesterday that it had been 6 months since my last fill, and I've lost 20 lbs. Not a whole lot but enough to make me know that even without trying my band has been doing the work. -
Bman - YEAAAAAAAAAH! That is great news about the tt! I'm so happy for you. Have you been reading the ps threads? I'm addicted. I had gone to see a ps back in Oct who basically told me insurance won't pay and he didnt' even want to talk about it, I was so disappointed but I had also made an appt with the dr I'm with now, only he couldn't get me in until Jan. (I'm sure you all heard all this before) So last week when I found out this dr couldnt' do my surgery as soon as I wanted I called the Other dr I had seen back in Oct. He wasn't in but his PA said that they'd need to do a new set of pics and then it'd be 6 weeks to hear from the insurance. So I said well forget it, I guess I'll just stay where I'm at. (all of this was done in one hour of insanity caused by my severe disappointment over not getting my own way) All that said ... yesterday I get a call from Dr #1 - saying he heard I had called and blah blah blah, he just wanted to me to know that he hasn't had an ins. cover tt since 2005 and just be careful they don't get me in a loophole. I said well actually I double checked with them on the codes that are covered and they are for both a panny and tt, and I said I guess you could call it an act of God bc I did alot of praying. He said well I'm not out to steal other dr's patients and I won't interfer with an act of God. So what do you think of that? Do you think he's desperate for business? He was the one with the beautiful classy facility but the outrageous prices - about $4k more then most ps. Crazy life I live.
-
I think he charges 13K - I think thats what it was when I had mine done back in Dec 06, so I'm not sure what it is. When do you leave for Mx?
-
Jackie, no - I go in tomorrow before the support group. Have fun with the babies. I just had my great great nephew here in Feb. It was so fun having a baby in the house. Jill thats an easy b-day to remember, 10-10

Karey, how tall are you. You sound about my size. I'm 165 and a 10. I went walking with my neice tonight and I was telling her I'm addicted to those before and after pics of tt's. I keep trying to find the one who is my size and hope my surgery comes out that good. -

hey girls - I'm going in for a fill tomorrow. I was just looking at my signature, I haven't had a fill in 6 months! no wonder I'm not losing! I was 185 at my last appt. I'm 20 down since then. wow - I just never thought about it before. I'm getting a little excited now, maybe I can get 10 more off this month.

Thanks for the answers - the standing straight thing has me worried bc I don't want anyone from work to know I got the tt. I want to be able to walk in there with a smile on my face. Ok - theres another question for you - do you think you are walking normal now... with a smile on your face? LOL -

Hi Jill - do you go to support group? I'm there every month. I went to Dr Borkow in Johnstown, I hear he's really good, even from friends who work at the hospitals. So I feel really confident with him. And - big AND he got me approved. I'm going in for a fill tomorrow at 3:30 - 4:00 before the meeting - hope to see you at group. Tracy - want to hear a wild one? I just had a phone call from a plastic surgeon I had seen back in Oct. When I had gone in he didn't even want to talk insurance and really discouraged me, said I'd be lucky if the panny got covered. Well when I was having my meltdown and upset that I couldn't get my surgery until next month I called his office and asked how soon they'd be able to get me in, she of course said I'd have to come in for new pics and then it'd be 6 weeks for the insurance to ok it, even tho I've already been approved. Well apparently the PA told him I had called and he called to just "warn" me that insurances don't cover the tt - HA - I said well it must have been an act of God bc I double checked with them and they gave me insurance codes that I was indeed covered for both the panny and the tt. He said well I guess I won't interfer with an act of God. Crazy world we live in. What does it make you all think of this ps that called me? I'd love your opinions. -

Thanks Tracy! I've been doing the same thing in front of the mirror, I think we all have. I have even done it for my dh, sister, mom, neice, dd's and said just think how nice I'd look with out this! LOL no modesty here. I think that you should start consulting WAY before you are ready for the surgery. I went to my first one last Oct., that was with a different surgeon, but I had also called for a consult with this ps and couldn't get in for the 1st consult until Jan. then he has me coming back these few months so I was really frustrated. And theres the whole 6 week insurance approval time line too. All in all I thought starting back in Oct would have given me plenty of time but now I wish I would have started months earlier.
