How much have you lost 4 weeks out?
woodie221 replied to candy rain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is very true! I am not quite 4 weeks out... I'm just over 3 weeks and I'm down 16 lbs. There are a lot of variables (how much you have to lose, how much you exercise, how you stick to diet). I lost 10 lbs first week after surgery, 4 the next week, and only 2 this past week. Current weight 224 -

Weight Gain immediately after surgery?
woodie221 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Thursday, April 22 and have followed the post-op diet very strictly, but I have gained about 2 1/2 lbs. I know that this is a time for "healing" not weight loss, but I'm just surprised that I went up a little, rather than down a little. Anyone else experience this? Thanks! -
Other bandsters weight loss schedule
woodie221 replied to dees-only-girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you exercising? It is a good way to jumpstart your weight-loss. Remember that you lose weight when your body is taking in less that it is using up. If you only reduce intake, without increasing the amount of calories expended, then weight loss will be very slow. Keep at it... no one said it would be easy! -
I guess that I'm one of those "Crazies". I got banded yesterday morning at 7:30 and by noon, I was ready to go back to work... but I didn't. I felt great... no nausea and only minimal pain. Today, I really feel great... almost normal. I could have easily returned to my (desk) job today and been fine. I just got back from a 2 mile walk that I had to take to avoid going stir-crazy. I realize that everyone is different and I certainly don't knock those people that take several days or even a week. I just wanted to sat it is possible. I'm definately going back to work on Monday.

Barbee... I believe what you are going through is normal "cold feet" stuff that everyone experiences before a major life changing event. I am due to be banded in TWO DAYS and also have the jitters. I started the 'program' in November and have already lost 46 lbs... sounds great, but now it's got me wondering "can I do it without the band?" I haven't been able to for 40 years, so what makes me think I can now. I know that this tool (the band) will be life-changing and will help me from slipping back into old, bad habits. Know that you are normal for feeling this way, but remember what made you consider the band in the first place... you know you need help and the band WILL HELP!
