17 days until you start your new life. How exciting and scary is that? I wish you the best of luck. This surgery is a life saver - and taking control is going to save your life. My surgery is scheduled for June 21st and I can't wait.

I am so glad I found this site so I can read and learn about other people's experiences. I know each of us are feeling the same anxiety and excitement about getting banded or being banded. I can't wait for my turn. I just found out I have to take 2 one-hour classes called Journey 1 and Journey 2. Anyone else have these classes? Since I will be starting the gym next week on the 28th, I had to go out to purchase some gym attire. Thank goodness for WalMart - who wants to spend money on new clothes when, with any luck, I will lose a lot of weight rather quickly and the stuff will be too big. I am so looking forward to my new and improved body and self esteem. bye for now

Are any of you from South Florida? Has anyone used Dr. Thomas Bass as their surgeon?

You sound as if you are doing everything right. 5K? I can't wait to walk 25 steps without breathing heavy. June 21st is my first day of my new life and I can only pray I can do as well as you seem to be doing. I just joined a gym and will try out their Zumba class - it sounds like fun. Keep up the good work. Good luck to your continued success.

I was originally scheduled for my lapband this past December 21, 2010, but then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to undergo a mastectomy on January 5th. I am so fortunate the cancer was found so early and that I don't need chemo or radiation. My lapband has been rescheduled for my birthday, June 21st, which I am calling my re-birthday. :tongue_smilie: I am a little nervous but so excited. Anyone have any suggestions?

2-Year survivor, I can't wait to say that. You do girl! What date is your LB scheduled for? You must be so excited. I know you will do great.

Congratulations. I am so excited for you. 16lbs already, holy cow. I am scheduled for my banding on my birthday, June 21st and I can't wait. I am actually calling it my re-birthday. Stay on track, continue doing what you are doing because apparently, it is working really well for you.

Each day is the start to a new beginning, a better you. Don't give up. If losing weight were easy we would all be skinny. You can do it, we all can. Just hang in there. Tomorrow is another day. Eileen -
I know how you feel and I wish you the best of luck in your search for happiness. Just don't get too hung up on your weight as the only thing that you can do to make yourself happy. Everyone on this site is overweight, just getting banded, waiting to be banded and will hopefully find the strength to be happy within ourselves. The weight loss will be amazing - I am having surgery on the 21st of June, my birthday or should I say my re-birthday. Eileen

I will be banded on June 21. Can't wait to see how quickly my weight will change.

Best of luck to you. I know exactly how you are feeling. My surgery is coming up on 6/21 and I will be a self-pay also. My insurance company will not pay for it.
