You will get there. Don't get discouraged. Have faith. You will reach your goal of 259, sooner than you think. Good luck.

R U kidding me? 27lbs is fabulous. Don't sell yourself or the work you are putting into losing the weight short. Every ounce is a victory, so shout it to the world. I HAVE LOST 27LBS! Keep it up - we fellow bandsters are very proud of you.

You gotta do what you gotta do. If you find you have cravings, I found sugar free jello or ice pops really do the trick. Also, make sure you are getting all of your water. Best of luck to you. Enjoy the new gym.

Good for you! It is challenging, but always portion out your food. I actually listened to my doctor and nutritionist and don't use a regular dinner plate, but the smaller salad size. It tricks your mind, honestly. Keep up the good work. It isn't always easy, but it will make such a difference in your life. You go girl!

You go girl! You will be in those pants sooner than you think. You had your fill on my surgery/birthday. It is a good day - keep up the good work. I can't wait until I can get into a 16!

Shonette, you go girl! You are doing what is best for you and that is the way it should be. Perhaps you husband thinks you will leave him when you get to your goal and he is scared? Have you discussed this with him? I am so lucky my husband is right by my side through everything. Isn't it amazing that you now know when you are full? I never did. As a "reward" I would stuff my face with a huge bowl, or 2, of pasta or french fries. Tonights dinner was 5 large shrimp. Go figure. We all know we have a long journey, but if you need support you have it here. We are all in this together and we all inspire eachother to stay on track and get it done. Keep up the good work.

I had my lap-band surgery on my birthday, 6/21/10 and I paid over $13,000. I have not felt this good in years. I was 268 when I first started my search for the type of surgery I wanted. I thougt the LB was a healthier way to go. I started to lose weight prior to the surgery - I was 254 on surgery date and am now 232. I have not needed a fill yet because I am eating the right portions, drink plenty of fluids and I am not hungry between meals. I exercise - joined the gym and I go a minimum of 3x a week. I love it. I love hearing people tell me how great I am looking. Visit my blog - bklynike, and you can view some photos and read my blog. I love the LB, I love this website and I couldn't be any happier. Join us, it will be the best gift you could ever give yourself.

The pain only lasts a day or two. Just get up and walk, walk, walk, it will make it easier and helps you get rid of the gas. Take your pain meds today, but tomorrow you won't need them. Good luck newbie. We welcome you with open arms. LB is the greatest give you could have given yourself - enjoy the new you.

You can get through it - all of us have and we lived. Drink a lot of water, eat a lot of jello and sugar free ice pops. If you can't do protein shakes, get some Isopur - 40 grams of protein per bottle. this is just the beginning - YOU GO GIRL!

You will go to the seminar and be so impressed by what you see and hear that you will be even more excited for the surgery. If you choose Lap-Band, it will be a slower loss than Gastric Bypass or the Sleeve, but in my opinion the Lap-Band is less invasive and much more healthy. Plus, you will return to your normal life so much quicker. As you said, the LB is a tool, but you have to do all of the work. Your diet will change greatly - no more bread, potatoes, sugar or carbinated drinks. You MUST exercise, which I never thought I would get to do at my size, but I do and I love it. What will you get? You will lose the weight and get healthier, have a better quality of life and just feel so much better about yourself. Good luck, it is the best gift you will ever give yourself.

There are a few words of advise I can offer. I was banded on 6/21/10 and have lost around 22 lbs so far. First, you must drink your 64 oz a day. That will help keep you full. You can do 2-3 of protein shakes a day and if you make them thick that will also help. After surgery you will be filled with gas for about a week. Make yourself get up and walk during TV commercials - its the only way to void the gas. This is such a gift - the week or two of liquids is a pain, but your goal is to lose the weight and this helps. Good luck.

You Never Know What is Waiting Around the Corner

Remarkable weight loss. Congratulations to you. And your attitude is so right, it won't come off over night. You have to work at it and being someone's gym buddy is great. It is working and you probably feel and look amazing. Keep it up, we are all pulling for you. -
I really dislike protein shakes, but after my first fill which may or may not be on Aug 19th, I will have to go back to liquids for a week. My normal breakfast is the equivalent of 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled with a large pinch of shredded Mozzarella cheese fried in a little Smart Balance spread. Lunch is usually a can of tuna or chicken mixed with lite Mayo or 4 oz of meat or fish with some steamed brocolli or a cheese stick and for dessert a Jello cup. Dinner is pretty much the same as lunch. I have a sugar free ice pop while watching TV at night. Lots of fluids all day. I feel great and have been losing steadily. Talk to your group, I am sure they will give you plenty of ideas. Good luck.

I would also consider another facility. I could understand 1 delay, but 4 is not acceptable. If they can't get your surgery scheduled properly, I would worry whether or not they could get the surgery done properly. Did you check out the center? I would.

14 months and down and you've lost 125lbs. That is another human being! My goodness, you look great. Keep up the good work. We love hearing that kind of achievement. It is inspiring. Thanks for sharing and I hope the economy turns around for all of us and you start selling homes quickly.

Youa re doing remarkably well. Don't look at the "big picture", take 10 lbs at a time - no more, no less. Everytime you lose 10 lbs, you have not only made your goal, but you will feel so good. The rest will come off, but give youself time. It took a long time to put it on, and working hard, you will eventually take it off. Remember, small baby steps will still take you to the finish line!

Please check out my album and see the change in my "green top" photo from 5/20/10 to the new photo taken today, 8/1/10. I think the difference is pretty amazing. Went to the gym today and I have lost another 1.8 lbs. I don't think I could be happier with my progress to this point. Everyone tells me slow and steady and that is what I am trying for. I can't wait until I am in the 220s. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

That is great, isn't it? Just be careful because I almost lost one of my rings. It slid off my finger at work and it took me over an hour to find it! Keep up th good work.

Best of luck. and you probably won't need the robe. I had my surgery at around 7:45am and was home by 11:30am. Try to drink as much fluid as you can, but don't make yourself sick. Walking goes without saying and take your pain meds on day 1, you probably won't need them for very long. Welcome to our little bandster family.

Fantastic. Keep on track and you will lose without even noticing. I keep a weight loss log and every Sunday I log my weight for the week. Best of luck, enjoy your new life and new posture

If your doctor did not send you home with a liquid pain medication, get on the phone right away and request some. You should not be in pain - especially not for 4 days. I had pain the day after surgery, but I got up each and every commercial and walked around my apt. It got easier to get up and down and the gas went away quickly. Protein shakes are the saving grace in this stage, and you must be drinking a lot of water. If you don't like the protein shakes, get yourself some Isopur. There are 40grams per bottle and it will fill you up, although it just looks like colored water. Good luck, it will get better. This is the best gift you could have given yourself.
