How long does bloating last?
kirstie replied to mousek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tony: I was banded on the 26th and I definitely agree. I have found the bloating to be the worst part so far. The pain is subsiding and even then, I can deal with it; but the bloating just makes me constantly uncomfortable. Hard time sleeping, and most definitely affects my energy level. I have also wondered a few times if I made the right decision... Overall, I'm pretty anxious and excited about the whole thing.. but some days are hard for sure. Looking forward to not feeling bloated (it's already been a whole week!) and resuming normal life. -
Banded on the 28th feeling sore
kirstie replied to cathyhall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone, It's a pretty big relief to know that everyone is essentially going through the same thing... I was banded this Monday and definitely feeling similar things. I had also had a hard time taking deep breaths.. even at the urging of my nurse. I was prescribed pain meds, but haven't had to take many yet, thankfully. I find it's really more uncomfortable (internally), and the most pain I feel is at the port site. Really having a hard time deciding whether I feel full or I'm hungry sometimes?? Such an odd sensation.. Wishing everyone quick recoveries! And looking forward to helping each other along the way.. -
So, my surgery is in 10 days. I made the mistake of seeing the surgery being done in a movie a few weeks back... I am now nervous. I am currently on day 5 of my pre-op diet, and doing pretty well. Seems everyone's diet is different.. mine is low fat, no starch, no sugar, no caffeine, no fruit. Essentially I'm on veggies and grilled fish and chicken. My only slip up was on day 2 with a coffee. I have successfully quit smoking and drinking, and lost 5lbs in the last 5 days. Hoping the next 10 days fly by... I'm excited to get the band, but I'm just finding it hard changing essentially my entire life all at once.
