Hi Everyone: I was banded in August and am having a hard time controlling my eating. I work out 6 days a week. 3 spins, 3 runs and 3 weight. I feel hungry all the time. Can you all offer some suggestions on menu items and when I should be eating? I have a very busy schedule. I am up at 7 am take the kids to school, work out for 1.5 hours, go home (clean, laundry, get dinner started etc.), pick the kids up and head to work by 4. I work till 12 am and don't get to bed before 1 am so I am going all day. I will be having a fill in March but need to get my eating under control. I have lost inches and a few pounds but nothing drastic. I started at 236 and an down to 210. Gained a few during the holidays and now am trying to get back on track. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you so much.

I will be starting this on Monday, September 13th. Does anyone run with their iPhone? I am trying to find a holder for mine. I have downloaded the application and think it will help me out to start this. I love the high I get from spinning so I hope running will give me the same high. I need to mix up my cardio. Thanks!

Hi Everyone: I had my surgery on August 2nd. I opted out of the narcotics and have not had any pain meds for a few days. The pain can be bad at times. I think it is mostly gas. I am not hungry but the lack of calories is making me sick and dizzy. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I am drinking two slimfast shakes (low carb) and trying some oatmeal and cream of wheat. I am going back to work Monday and can't imagine working like this let alone driving to work. I went to the store yesterday and had to leave because I was so tired. So not like me not to want to shop. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also know I have to get more Water in but there is no room. Thank you. Debbie

Surgery on August 2nd and Looking for Advice
Debbie72001 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone: I am looking for some advice on how to get off of coffee and diet coke. I drink about 3 to 4 cups of black coffee with 1 sweet & low and drink 1 diet coke a day. I work from 4 pm to 12 am Monday through Friday and have a 6 and 9 year old that keep my busy during the day so caffeine is my friend. I have also been trying the 2 week pre-surgical diet. I use Slimfast Low-Carb 3 times a day and make one meal with a Protein, vegetable and either rice or Pasta. I am thinking of adding 2 salads because what I have read I can have as much salad as I want as long as I stay within 3 tablespoons of fat free dressing. Any advice would be great. I have lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks and hope to lose a little more before surgery. Thank you. Debbie -
Did anyone cheat on the pre -op diet
Debbie72001 replied to TRACIENEW1217's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I start my pre-op diet full force on August 19th but have been trying to follow it the last few weeks and it does take some adjusting. The beginning of any new process is hard. Keep you head up and keep trying. Goood luck and do the best you can! -
Hi Everyone: Did anyone use the low carb slimfast plan for thier pre/post diet? I have been trying and they are not bad but it only comes in vanilla and chocolate. I bought the strawberry but it is not to high in Protein. I like the premade drinks because I don't have to make them. Thanks for any advice. Debbie

Spanks and Other Under Garments
Debbie72001 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone: I will be having my surgery on Auguest 2nd and was wondering if anyone wears special garments to help with the flabby skin. I was thinking of getting some spanks and Dr. Rey has some special under garments that might help. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Debbie -
Hi Everyone: I will be having my surgery on Aug. 2nd. I have my pre-op on July 19th and hope it goes well. I am 41 weigh (GULP)235 and am 5ft 5in. I have high blood pressure and sleep apenea. I was surprised I got approved so fast. I started in May. I could have had the surgery sooner but we are dealing with our house being rebuilt (!14 months!) after a fire in May of 2009 and I want to be in my house all settled before surgery. Anyone else really scared of surgery? I am really making myself ill thinking about what could happen. Talk to you all soon! Debbie

Scared of my surgery
Debbie72001 replied to CurvasPeligrosas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be having my surgery on August 2nd and feel the same way you do. I am so scared. I am 235 with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I know once I lose the weight these issues will go away and that is great but I hate thought of surgery. Reading the posts have helped and most people who have had the surgery have felt the same way so it is normal what we are going through. Keep us posted and I will be thinking positive thoughts for you in 10 days! -
Hi Everyone: I received my approval letter from my health insurance today and will be having surgery on August 2nd at Beth Israel by Schneider. I am so nervous and scared. Totally hate the thought of surgery but I feel this is the best thing for me right now. Anyone have Dr. Schneider as a surgeon? Any difficulties. He seems very competent. Thanks for any information. Hi Everyone: I am having my surgery on August 2nd. My son is being presented with an award on August 4th at 2:00 in the afternoon that I need to attend. It will only be for a few hours. Do you think I will be able to do this? It is sitting at the ceremony and sitting in a car. I will have my husband with me at all times. Thank you for any advice.

Hi Everyone: I am waiting for approval from my insurance carrier, Harvard Pilgrim. I started the process in April and have a surgery date of August 2nd. Can you tell me how long this might take to get approval? I was told by the admin 24 hours. I am very anxious because I have not done much. I have had all my appointments and met with the surgeon on Thursday. Thank you for any help. Debbie

Hi Everyone: I have Harvard Pilgrim and am wondering how long people have waited for approval. I am a 38 bmi with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I have been unsuccessful in losing weight. My doctor suggested lap band last year and I tried to lose some weight in that time but have been unsuccessful. At my recent appointment I agreed to go for the surgery. My doctor has put in the referral and I am going to an information session on Thursday. I really interested in knowing how long you have to wait for the insurance company to approve you. Thanks for any information. Debbie
