I've eaten a salad and my dietician said it was fine as long as you chew it up especially well. I didn't have any problems with it and it tasted wonderful because I was craving it about 3 days into my solid foods. Good luck!

Good luck to those getting banded this week! You'll do great! Sorry I haven't updated since my surgery on 11/2. I've been staying with my mom. The surgery went well, but I had to stay an extra night because they couldn't do the swallow study because I was allergic to the iodine. Since I tolerated liquids well, they let me go home the second day. My incisions look good except one is red, but I don't think it's infected. I lost 15 pounds at my 2-week checkup. :clap2: I was really excited about that. I'm thrilled to be on soft foods now. I was starving on liquids and now it fills good to have something solid in my stomach. :hungry: Now if I can just get past the head hunger I'll be doing okay.

Hi guys! I'm getting banded Nov. 2nd by Dr. Rodriguez. My current weight is 283 :cry and my goal is 138. I've been really excited, but as it gets closer, I get more anxious and scared. I will only be doing the liquid diet one day prior to surgery plus the colon cleanse. Then the liquid diet will continue two weeks after surgery. I am inspired by all of you and wish you all the best.

Welcome and good luck! I'm set to get banded next week, so I don't have any BTDT advice for you, but just wanted to welcome you.

My name is Christie and I'm a SAHM to Emily (almost 6) and Andrew (2). My Lap Band is scheduled for November 2. I have been overweight since I was about 5 or 6. I grew up with the name-calling and without many friends until I got older. Now I suffer from CFS, arthritis, depression, high cholesterol, HBP, migraines, and B12 deficiency. I take so many meds daily that it's embarrassing. I can't play with my children like I want to and should be able to. I can't go into any store at the mall and pick out a dress or outfit and say "I'll take that one." I have to order everything from a specialty shop. I am having my procedure done at Norton Hospital in Louisville. When I went for my pre-op class and tests, it really hit home how real this is and now I'm getting so nervous. My DH isn't the best support person as he and I have marital problems, but he's my only choice. My mom helps me as best she can, but I have to rely on her to watch the children for me when I have my appointments and surgery. My dad had told me he was going to come in from Florida and be with me during my surgery, but he has let me down and is not coming. No real excuse, just that he's going to wait until I feel better. Gee thanks, Dad, for the support when I'm down. :rolleyes Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. I'm glad my friend sent me this way.
