It's been almost 2 weeks since my first fill. (after many months of being wide open) tried to eat 1 egg and veggie saugsage pattie and all came up. I don't get it. I was able to eat a grilled chicken breast a couple days ago. I am so tired of just drinking my meals. why have I been able to eat at times these past 2 weeks then other times, complete disaster? Has anyone had this experience? Thanks

never know when I can keep something down

That sounds like good advice. I will definitely give it a try. One more question. How do you make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need? -
my dream was so close and now looks as though

I agree with elgrande. Most hospitals will work out a payment plan especially if you pay something. Praying you will get a caring person at the hospital who will work with your finances. -

Hi, I had a fill about 5 days ago. Been having soft foods and Protein Drinks. I am dying for something crunchy. Are there any acceptable foods that are better choices during this time? Was told to stay away from all carbs so don't know if i could have even have a cracker.Suggestions Please? Thanks

Thanks Shirley. I will try to stay with my name here, halesredrose. Will let you know. I need al the help I can get. You are so right about the 2nd time around. I was so nervous and a worrier the first time out! What happened back then?Experienced some major trauma, so I exercised to excess, ate very little, then started throwing up and couldn't get out of the habit. It took it's toll and I finally ended up doing some outpatient eating disorder treatment last fall. I am now in better condition health wise and ready to lose again. I also think since I've been through it before, it is easier in ways. However, the head hunger(as you called it and you are so on target!) is driving me batty! Do you snack any? I am not suppose to at all. that's tough. Right now, I am still having to go back to liquids and it's been a week. I think I am eating too quickly when I do have regular food like grilled chicken. that's what happened today so I had Soup tonight. Can you give me some ideas of good meals that stay down? Kim -

Wow, you've really been through it! It looks like you are definitely on your way now! Congrats on the weight loss! Was it really tough the 2nd time around? I've only been into a week this time. I know I am not really hungry just think I want something to snack on. What's been the toughest for you? I haven't been able to connect with any former bandsters. It has helped tremendously to have this site to refer to find answers. -

Shirley, I had my surgery Oct 2006. lost almost 100 lbs then started having some eating disorder issues about 6 months after it. Doing well now and ready to get back on track. The fill five days ago is the first step. How has your experience been? -

I'm with you. Something is not right. Can you change to a different dr in the practice or research other drs in your area? Don't wait too long to change. you need guidance now.

Do you find it difficult not to drink with your meal?
halesredrose replied to luvinke's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery was 10/2006. It has taken time, but it has been worth learning to drink less or not at all with meals. I was a non-stop iced tea drinker. Now, I order a cup of coffee w/ my meal. Sip on it before my food comes(about 5-10 mins right after I order) then I usually do okay. If I feel I absolutely have to have a drink, I take small sips. Then, I take the rest to go and can enjoy it awhile later. I have pb'd, I have stressed through those early months of not drinking. It will get easier. Hang in there. The results will be worth it! Anything is better than pb'ing! -

Dr. Morton is a wonderful surgeon! I am very pleased with him and the entire process. My surgery was 10/30th. I will be glad to answer any questions if I can help, even though I am a newbie... -
Let me know, I'm in too.
