  1. Happy 46th Birthday ssmanzo!

  2. Happy 45th Birthday ssmanzo!

  3. 5 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 5th Anniversary ssmanzo!

  4. Thanks for the reply. I can feel a little tightness in my chest, but I can eat WAY more than I could yesterday. I read in another thread that sometimes the band absorbs some of the saline the first fill. Since my Dr. doesn't do any fill during the surgery, and since I only received around 1.2 ccs I wonder if the band absorbed some of the little bit they put in...
  5. I am 4 weeks post-op and I received my first fill yesterday of 1.5cc. yesterday I felt a little restriction. I was worried about getting overfilled so I didn't get a big fill. However today, I feel less restricted. Not sure why?
  6. I just experienced the sharp pain thing the past two days. I was doubled over with pain at times and could not move or take a deep breath. I called the nurse and we figured out that I was somewhat constipated and that the bowels were getting 'backed up' (gross, I know!) which was maaking me bloated and I THINK it was making my port (mine is on my left side) hit my ribs or SOMETHING because it hurt like you-know-what! Turns out, I am not drinking enough Water, sooo guess I will have to work on that. I too still have a tough time bending over... I also have trouble laying on my right side (the port is on the left...) at night...I am 2 weeks post op. Has anyone had this issue? It seems if I lay on the left side, it shifts my port out and away from my ribs. I dunno...crazy stuff!

    The downside of being banded.

I am with the rest of the gang, I have everything in my closet from size 8 to 16s so I am set. Also, Target has great clothes that are stylish but won't break the bank. BetsyJane, Glad to hear you are doing fine!
  8. BetsyJane, Good luck tomorrow. You will do just fine. Dont forget your pillow for the post op tomorrow. It comes in handy! You are in good hands with Spivak and the SurgiCenter. They really take great care of you.
  9. Cool. I am in Houston. Banded 11/1... I have lost about 5 lbs...From 196 to 189-191...and an inch on my waist...42 to 41. Any problems with cravings? I have been BAD today with grazing. I seem to be eating everytime I turn around...popcorn, saltines and butter, reeses mini cups...my 'meals' are nutritious...breakfast was oatmeal, lunch was cottage cheese and peaches...are you guys experiencing anything similar? I know I was bored and somewhat worried about some nagging personal issues today...that seems to trigger my eating...
  10. Yippee! Another Dog lover!!! I LOVE Golden Retrievers! Never had one but always thought they were beautiful and would make a great companion. We have a min dachshund that is our dog-child. He's the sweetest...Just so you know, I am back to normal today from my surgery on 11/1. I just took it easy the rest of the week and weekend and I walked Deuce (dog) almost every day. I feel 99% today.
  11. You're gonna do great BetsyJane! Are you located in the Houston area?
  12. Hi Christina, I was banded on Nov 1. Where are you located?
  13. I am a Dr. Spivak patient too. I love him! I am 3 days post op and am not having too many issues with the soft food diet. I ate my first scrambled egg this morning with no problems. What I cannot believe is the total 180 degree turnaround about my relationship with food. I was so scared I would feel like I was starving...but so far, that has not been the case at all. I was scared I would be obsessing over chicken fried steak or something... It's funny that I am eating 2-3 oz of food and it is filling me up!
  14. I just had my first experience with PBs this afternoon. That will make you slow down and not try to cheat the band! Not really THAT bad, but you'd better be close to the toilet or sink...:phanvan
  15. Yes, I was probably a little dehydrated as I was so nauseated that nothing was staying down. Thanks for the tips on the chewable tylenol. I think the liquid is just too hard on my stomach.
