Oprah Today: Weight Loss and Obsessions
Katgirl replied to skyeblu79's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jacqui, how did you start the running? Did you start with walking? or? That's what I envision myself doing with my dog. Kat. -
What about soft boiled eggs? Do they go down? Thanks in advance. Kat.

25 days post-op & I can eat anything - help!
Katgirl replied to sweetsue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, there. I am trying to follow my Dr's. instructions to a T! I don't want to take any chances on destroying my band. I think the biggest problem, it seems, is some Dr's. do not explain the very important do's and don't and why's about the band. I rely very much on this site and another I belong to, for advise, info., etc. Give your body a chance - just think, down the road you will be able to eat the things you did before, but you will only feel like having small amounts. You can do it! Kat. -
I am so excited to have found this thread! I am not familiar with everything yet; how do I find this thread easily again? Can I save it somehow as a favourite or? Thanks in advance, Kat. "In Him"

I did not have to follow a pre-op diet. I ate whatever I wanted up until the evening before my surgery, and loved every minute of it *grin*. However, all Dr's. are different. My Dr. is very strict now (post-op); I must stay on clear liquids for 30 days (actually it works out to 40 - my first fill isn't until Nov. 23rd). You just have to keep telling yourself that "this is not forever". Eventually, you will be able to eat near everything you want (my understanding), but in smaller amounts, which allow you to lose the weight. Cheers. Kat.

Help, I've fallen into some weird depression
Katgirl replied to derbygirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was feeling a little like that, but with prayer and help from my friends, and being able to come here, I fam now feeling better. It's hard to say goodbye to "constant eating". I have heard from many that a few months down the road, eating becomes a new experience: no more McDonalds..only quality food is appealing because you can eat so little. I can't wait! The depression should pass. -
What are considered full liquids? Thanks in advance. Katt.:girl_hug:

I've already starting looking for a "hobby". If anyone is interested, check out the website listed below. It is knitting/crocheting blankets for animals in shelters; and of course there are others: knitting/crocheting for battered women; homeless, etc. I am going to check out a couple of these others too. Some of them supply the materials too, you just donate your time and labour. www.snugglesproject.org
