In answer to your question about the rest of my diet, Jack, it's like this: BREAKY: soft boiled egg LUNCH: tuna with mayo SUPPER: fish or chicken with a little broccoli (I usually stuff the chicken with a bit of cheese - oh oh, that could be part of my problem). My diet is not really exciting yet as I'm nervous to try things. I had my first experience the other day with tuna (now I'm super careful). I was talking at lunch while eating and my first bite, I think, was too big. Anyway, I think I know what the PB'ing thing could feel like now as I had to excuse myself, go into the washroom and wait until the pain in my chest subsided - I didn't have to PB, but felt pretty darn near. Maybe I should have some fruit? My doctor didn't mention any fruit right now. He's not very informative. I will try the shredded wheat that a couple of you have suggested. Thanks again. Kat.

It doesn't sound like you can get chewables for the all the pills you are taking. How about throwing them in the blender with protein shake ingredients: just a bit of protein powder, water, some frozen fruit, and your pills! You won't even taste them. Kat.

If I were a member of the black race, I would be ashamed to claim him. Are we not all "members" of society?

Why can't my husband understand????
Katgirl replied to waitingtiljan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Remind your husband of the years being taken away from you because of the unhealthy state of your weight! Proceed with the lapband even if he doesn't want you to do it! He'll be in awe a few months down the road. So will you! Oh, and I guarantee you will NOT feel like sleeping during the day! Besos. Kat. -
Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?

Weird religious people scare me too, Ariel. Kat. -
I love this whole forum, but I too would like to see this as a sticky please. I'm curious as to why it hasn't been done yet; there has been more than one request..... I wonder who started this site? Kat.

Hey, Girl. Don't worry about what this guy has said. If anything, he needs our pity. He is probably not capable of loving anyone, including himself - he's too critical. People that say things like he did just remind me of who "I never want to be". Don't you feel great that you are accepting of people? Love yourself. What he says is about him, not about you. Chin up. Besos, Kat.

I had my first fill today. I accidentally looked at the needle when it was on the counter and I just about peed myself (I'm not usually afraid of needles), but you know what, it didn't hurt a bit! In fact, I felt nothing when it was going in. Anyhow, I think I understand how the Water thing works (when u are getting your fill): the water sort of sits between your "boobs" and then slowly releases down, right ? That's what I felt anyway. I didn't eat during the day, but for supper, a little while ago, I had some creamy Soup (a very small amount 1/4 cup..if) and it seemed to go down. I'm not really feeling hungry, but not sure what I am to be looking for? I suppose I will get a better idea when I progress to solids? I feel so happy...sigh. Kat.

Can y'all explain to me how you feel when you are full? I know we are not supposed to feel that fullness that I used to go for before banding; you know, where you can't even move after eating. How do you feel and what is your indicator to stop eating. I want to feel some kind of fullness! Otherwise I would have been able to do this on my own! Hmmm, I think I am not being patient. Still trying to figure this out. Still learning!:girl_hug: Thanks in advance. Kat. PS had my first fill on Nov. 21st.

I quit couple years ago, and I remember that first month! You are right, it is not easy, but because you have made it a month, it will be easier not go back! Congrats! Kat.:clap2:

Do Scallops go down as easy as fish? Thanks. Kat.

Lisa, what is PCOS? Kat.

You know, if you are having trouble with chicken you could try boiling it to a "shredded consistency". That would be easier to eat, yes? Kat.

Someone posted something on another site I belong to saying that the Dr. filled with part Saline and part air. She had never heard of this, and neither had I. Any thoughts? Kat. One more thing - I have a pain all of a sudden, the last couple of days, around my port sight inside; when I bend over it causes pain on the right side of my port?? What does this mean? Thanks in advance.

Wow, Telly! Are you ever an inspiration. You know, I remember going to an aerobics class once (I could just barely keep up) and I remember there was a woman at the front of the class with the nicest, toned back I had ever seen-I could tell she weight-trained. Anyhow, she was what kept me going at that class as I too wanted to have a back like that. Now I know this can come true after being banded! I can already feel I am on my way. Oops, sorry for going on!! Enjoy your training, Telly! Very exciting! Cheers. Kat.

We are faithful "every Sunday afternoon" Nascar fans! Love it. We are from Canada and plan to take a trip one year to either Taladaga or Daytona. Kat.

Hi, Sunta. I will definately try the recipe you have offered. Do you have any other Indian dish recipes? I love Indian food! Thanks. Kat.

Hey, MyPov. How about knowing that you can look forward to the following and alot more: going for a walk without back or knee pain; going shopping; wearing your seatbelt; doing housework; swimming; lifting your feet up to put your socks on; taking a bath comfortably; using stairs; fit into chairs at: movie theatres, restaurants, hockey games, etc.; get up and down from the couch with ease; run if you want to while flying a kite; bike ride; roller skate, and best of all, how about playing on the swings and slide with your little ones....I could go on and on, but you get my drift. Be excited!!!! It will change your life in a fabulous way! Your new life will be your "project"! Cheers. Kat.

What do you say when you get THAT question??
Katgirl replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just tell them the truth: you are eating better now, and eating less. That's true, right? They don't need to know anything more. That's what I say to people that ask (people that don't know I am banded). Cheers. Kat. -
2 months post-op new to forum...Hello!
Katgirl replied to rastephen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Dollybird. I was banded on Oct. 13th by Dr. Wai Leung in Surrey (close for you) 581-2515. To date, I have lost just under 50 lbs. Do it! You know, I called his office the end of June last year and here I am already banded! $13,000 inclusive; cheaper if you don't have to stay overnight in the hospital. I am super happy thus far. Kat. -
I have a list of meds that I shouldn't take, but Midol isn't on the list - can I take this? "That time of the month" lasts forever for me these days! and I stay bloated for so long. I'm hoping if I can take Midol, it will help. Kat.

It's that time of the month and of course I am retaining water. What can I take that's okay? Thanks in advance. Kat.

Perfect food to feel full for a long time
Katgirl replied to prasman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
:hungry: Roxy, may I have the recipe for your turkey chili please? It sounds really good! I can eat that during my mushie stage, right? I go in for my first fill on Nov. 23rd, at which time I can begin my mushie stage. Thanks. Kat. -
chicken or beef???
Katgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What about boiled chicken? Boil it in some hot sauce or something, for flavour. Then it is shredded. Does shredded chicken (or beef) go down easier? Kat. -
I quit smoking 2 1/2 years ago. That was the beginning of my "healthy" journey. Now, to get a handle on my eating, hence the "banding". I want to live a long time! I just knew I had to quit smoking - smoking and being morbidly obese takes years off of your life! Good luck...you can only quit when you, and you alone, are ready. I didn't quit for anyone (not even my child!), I did it for me. Now, I don't even think about cigarettes, and I was a chain smoker! Kat.
