I was watching the news and there is a new Lap band Dr in Spokane. :clap2: He's just moved here but has lots of experience. I talked with his office and he will do aftercare and fills for patients that have had their bands placed elsewhere. I did forget to ask about cost. His name is Dr. Trotter his number and address is Valley Outpatient Surgery Center 1414 N. Houk Rd, Suite 204 Spokane, Wa. 99216 phone 509-922-0362 or call Lori at his office 344-3100

is the support group in liberty lake still going on? April -
Titantiff, do they (Dr. Spitz) fill Mexico banded patients? Do you have a number I could get from you.

Ok so I haven't posted in quite awhile due to disgust at myself. Its time for me to come clean and ask for help. Over the last year I have been holding my own with no loss but no gain until recently. I'm sure I need a fill but due to the economy and my business teetering on the brink of closure, I just don't have the funds to travel, let alone get fill. I'm sure my pouch has been stretched to a certain extent but I'm wondering can I start over. There's been days that I tell myself I'm going on liquids then I find myself eating something I really shouldn't. I've fallen into the old habits of diet soda, coffee with cream and sugar, a glass of wine at dinner etc. I really can't afford to go to a doctor so I'm asking for you opinions, and suggestions to get me back on track.

I would love to try and get one together in the valley starbucks on sullivan... any day is good for me, Lets do it....

I hadn't heard the valley was having a support group but would love to join in. Whats the days and times, do you know? I haven't been able to get up north to the Holy family support group. I have a bit of night blindness so I hate to go to far from home. I made my original "back on track" goal of 10 lbs, so I increased it another 5 lbs. I plan to reach this by V-Day.
-
Ok so I did the pouch test and joined in the Valentines Day challenge. Much to my surprise the scale has started to move. I'm down 8 lbs with 2 to go to reach my challenge goal. I think I'm one of those who put goals so high, I'm bound to fail. Thanks to all the great ideas, I'm back on track. I have been using Fitday.com to track foods/carbs/calories and exercise.

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals
amom replied to ukcatsfan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Haven't checked in for a while, been a rough few weeks. My mom needs open heart surgery, my 16 yr old foster daughter ran away, and refuses to go to school or come home, so she's in juvenile hall. She has choosen to live with her pot head uncle on her real mothers side. But through it all, I've eatin, it seems everything in site, but to my surprise I still managed to lose and have 2lbs to go to meet my challenge goal. I'm thinking I may push it another 5 or so lbs. I know if it weren't for this challenge I would never have gotten back on track. -
Well I'm back, had a rough week. My 16 yr old foster daughter ran away. After several days of searching, we found her. She refused to stay, so she was taken to juvenile hall until they can find other options. Through it all I was eating everything in site, Cookies, Pasta, M&M's etc. and I still lost 1 lb. I don't know why I lost the lb. It may show back up in a day or so.

Thanks so much for the info. Yes, I did the pouch test and I'm now back on track. I'm down 6 lbs. I do well using the fitday website. I have to keep track of carbs and the site really helps.

Hi All, Haven't checked in since the 14th. My husband has been home and left out today. Anyway, I ate what I wanted, didn't write down my intake, or do any real exercise. Even though I didn't keep track, I was still very aware of what I was eating. Anyway got on the scale and didn't gain and didn't lose, so I'm really pretty happy. We went to dinner had a birthday party etc. I'm happy. Now its time to get back to the basics, write things down, exercise, watch the carbs, etc. Tabithan, you were saying that when you eat more you lose and when you eat less you don't. I'm the same way so what I do is trick my body. They say sometimes your body thinks your starving it, so it holds on to the calories. What I do is; Day 1: I eat 12 to 1400 calories. Day 2: I eat say, 9 to 1000 calories. I just keep flipping back and forth. It seems to work for me. You might try it. Hope it works for you. I do have to still watch my carbs.

Thanks Tabithan for the idea of GNC Isopure. The Adkins shakes taste like chalk. YUK.... I'm going to try and get over there tonight. The ones I used before made by Stallone have been discontinued. It seems just when we find something that works for us they take it off the market. LOL..

Hey everyone, I'm doing great. Just a question for everyone. How many protein grams are you doing per day. I was told, try for 80 but I'm having a tough time of getting that many in. Down 6 lbs Yeah Baby!

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals
amom replied to ukcatsfan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK, so I went back to the basics and did the pouch test, counting calories by using Fitday.com and exercising. I'm down 6 lbs 4 to go and God willing I'll be able to up my goal a little, and reach it by Valentine's day. If it weren't for the support of all my fellow Lapbanders, I'm sure I'd still be sitting on the bench. Thanks to You All. -
Just a quick check in. I started using Fitday and boy what a plus that has been. It seems funny at how much I've forgotten in a year. I'm down 6 lbs. Thanks to all the support of my fellow Lapbanders.

Congratulations Keep up the good work.

I figured out where the gain came from, at least I think. When I had surgery I was given pineapple juice and mango juice. Well to make the story short I didn't even look at the label and I've been on a pineapple juice kick, :yikes:OMG never noticed it had 30 grams of carbs in each glass. I've even been putting some in my Water just for taste. For a person that stays away from carbs this is a lot for me. I figured it out, with the juice I've consumed, its like 150 carbs in 1 day. I promised myself I will always try to look at labels... Scarlett, Welcome Aboard.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I did read your post from earlier and that's what gave me the courage to post my issue. Like I said I will brush myself off and TRY not to let it get to me. Thanks Again

Ok so I got up and stepped on the scale. I want to throw it in the trash. How in the world can I go from ?89.8 to ?91.2 (1.4lbs) in one day. I always gain after that time of the month. I know its water gain but oh my gosh it sure made my heart drop. I'm just like you Tabithan, I was going to just ignore it and not say anything but then that's what got me here in the first place. I kept ignoring the small gains until it was to late. You reminded me to face it; good, bad or ugly. I've finally admitted to myself I'm PETRIFIED of what the doctor will say if I go see him. I don't think I really need a fill after doing the pouch test. I find if I over do it my chest hurts like in the beginning. I think sometimes I eat past the band , I found myself eating and when it hurt I'd wait a bit then finish eating. Thats why I say I eat past the band, so to speak. Coming back and being truthful to my failure is very hard. As I've said before I'll brush myself off and go on, tomorrow is another day. As for today I will try and not let it get to me.

I just need to say thanks to you all, Tabithan especially. If it weren't for you finding me and inviting me over I don't know what I've had done. I'm now back on track. So far I'm down 4 lbs and don't feel so depressed being a failure. I even have enough motivation to get in some extra exercise. Thanks Again to you all. I'm here for you as you were for me.

I started with a 10 lb goal. As of today I'm down 2 lbs, 8 to go. I may even press for a total of 20. The weekends are the hardest for me, with everyone home.. -
OMG Tabithan, I thought I was a freak. I made a super prime rib dinner for xmas and was unable to eat a bite. Every time I tried to eat some it would cause me to PB, so I finally quit trying. I had the same thing happen on New Years day also. It also happens when we make special plans for dinner out. I so glad to find out I'm not the only one.. Also just a update on my pouch test, as of this morning I'm down 2 lbs. The scale is finally moving, YEA.
