Hi! I was banded on 4/15/10, Dr Fegelman did the 'deed', and have had a learning bell-curve experience! First of all, I work on my butt all day, so I just took 1 week off. Returning to work was a tad painful, but thanks to the liquid Roxicet, i didn't care! LOL My first true lesson learned was rather scary. On week 2, I thought I'd try some Greek Yogurt. Things went ok, until I started having gut pains, that radiated through my chest, and up/out my left shoulder. My BP was good, and I was able to breathe just fine, so I layed down. Next day, the Dr said to go to ER...JUST in case. On top of that, I hadn't gone to the bathroom (#2) in a week and was miserable! So, X-Rays didn't see any blockages..and they put a liter of Fluid in me by IV. They called in a liquid laxitive, Lactrilose. Man..talk about making some serious gas! LOL But it did it's job...well I might add. The pain turned out to be that the yogurt was just too thick to squeeze through the opening..and it wasn't done healing yet. But..at my 2 week post op, I lost 19lbs thus far..I go back on the 12th for the 4th week, and can't wait to see how much more I lost! Only advice I can give, is listen to your body! You'll KNOW when enough is enough! My choice of Protein drinks are from Jay Robb. Both the chocolate and strawberry are excellent! BUT they are rather pricey. I found one that Meijer's carry made my BodyLogix, which is a LOT cheaper, but just as good. Doesn't mix up as well as Jay's does, but $13 for 2lb, VS $28 for Jays? I can just shake my shaker longer! LOL Good luck to all of you, and keep your heads high! :bored:

Yes! Thanks for being 'upfront' and brutally honest! I was banded 4/15..losing..very happy thus far..and am learning the 'signals' this ring is telling me. Some days, I think it's the ring from Lord of the Rings with the pain, and other days, is docile and does it's job. The learning curve/trick, is listening to your body. I had some scary pains that I even went to the ER about, and it was just the band doing it's thing. Greek yogurt is still too 'stiff' the second week..so the stoma being stretched gave me chest pains that radiated to my shoulders. Good luck to all, and keep up the excellent posts! -

Hello all! I'm to be banded on the 15th. (Tax day..yay? LOL) and am excited as well. It's been a long time for me..job changes..starting the process(es) over and over again, but this time, it's gonna happen! A tad apprehensive, but I too, feel it's a tool and am prepared to the changes!
