I went for my first visit with Dr. Singh's office in Aug 2008. I weighed at that time 242lbs. I did great and lost 10 % prior to the lap band being placed in Dec. 2008. That is were my success ended. Since Dec. 2008 I have had four operations. My port has flipped three times and I had an intestinal blockage. I decided that I wanted to have the band removed as I have never been able to have a fill due to port flipping. I wanted to have the vertical sleeve done. Well now my insurance will not cover as my BMI is not high enough. I am so frustrated with this process. I am not sure what to do. Having the band or nothing. I am thinking I'd rather have the band than nothing at all. I started weight watchers this morning for extra support and help. I am hoping between the band and weight watchers I will lose weight again.
