  1. Happy 44th Birthday thu1976355!

  2. I had a fill Thursday and My surgeon saw me Friday befre the holiday weekend.. I love my surgeon.. I am able to keep fluids down when they were clear but when i advanced to full liquids on day 2 i felt how tight it is.. So i decided i need fluids.. how about sugar free popicles.or sugar free waterice.. i had some yesterday day and it was good.. I am going to try full liquids and mushy foods today because the surgeon said by sunday i can go back to food as tolerated... alittle nervous about that. I am shcked that there is not a dr on call for your surgeon though.. you may want to call back and ask. otherwise the iv fluids may be needed before tues...

    A word to the wise

I agree completely.. I think I underestimated how stressful it is for some of us post surgery.. Since my surgery in Jan, my husband filed for divorce (which is a good thing). My boss started harrassing me more and more with each lb I loss..It got so bad I started vomitting at work uncontrollably.. I ended up taking leave.. and the vomitting stopped.. I started taking care of my self with my exercise, mediation and rest.. And feel soooooooooooooooooooo much better. I EVEN quit my job.. My last day is June 10 and I start a new one on June 13.... So what I am trying to say is the same as hautemama.. Being successful with this band isnt about counting the calories, and chewing chewing chewing.. it is about taking care of ALL OF YOU.. otherwise you will struggle.... I am now working with a life coach and she is amazing.. I am down 80 something lbs and 4 sizes.. Had my second fill yesterday.... LIFE is good.. But because I chose to make drastic needed changes.. Good luck to everyone.. Traci

    Sliming

Toast is bad.. I had a stuck episode last week on vacation with toast for 4 hours.. NEVER AGAIN.... I agree sliming is gross... And my surgeon never mentioned sliming or pbing... I had vomitting for 4 weeks after my first fill..But the surgeon did a fluroscopy and said it wasnt the band. Turned out to be anxiety. then all of a sudden it stopped.. I am not a good chewer and you must chew chew chew.. I find now I prefer foods that are easier to go down.. I eat alot of scrambled eggs, greek yogurt , and crave creamy peanut butter like you can't image.. salads never get stuck for me for some reason, nor do nuts.. but I hear I am the exception so be careful. Fish is good.. Shrimp get stuck.. I DONT eat red meat or pork anymore.. I cant get it past the band. And chicken on rare occassion.. GOOD LUCK.. dont be afraid.. It is the best thing I ever did even with the vomitting.. You just have to learn to chew and you will do fine. Down 4 sizes since surgery in Jan.2011.

Down 51 lbs., took new photo...disappointed!

Cheryl.. One you look great..but second, I had a similar experience. I still see my self at 310 lbs when I look in the mirror.. I am down 90ish lbs 50 preop and 40 post op, but It wasnt until last week when I did a side by side of my face, I really saw it. It is posted in my pictures if you want to peek... Sometimes the head takes alittle longer to catch up.. Keep up the good work.

    My Transition

    Pictures through my transition.
  12. I was seperated from my husband when I had surgery.. But we remain friendly... after I started losing weight he wanted to come back.... So I asked him if it was because he liked me better this way in my thinner body.. and to my surprise he said yes... I didnt take him back and filed for divorce instead... I obviously wanted someone who would love me at any size.... But on the positive side.. I am dating a wonderful man who has been with me since one month before my surgery and is very supportive... So I am taking it one day at a time with him. Now friends and coworkers.. I am blessed with great friends who have been very supportive.. but my coworkers have been down right mean... I am shocked how my weight loss has become a topic of discussion in the office.. and rarely are they supportive.... it is so bad i am ready to quit my job.

    Your Lap-Band and Dating....

I started dating a wonderful man about a month before I was banded and decided it best to be honest... I am so glad I did. He is very supportive.. And helps me stay on track. Besides.. I figured that if I hadnt told him every time I had to rush to the bathroom if I got stuck or sick, he would think I had issues.... We are still dating.. 5 mos now.. Down 42 lbs since.. And every date is a new adventure....Be open and enjoy the new you.
