I have been heavy most of my adult life. Growing up in school I was somewhat athletic and was never with the in crowd in either size nor looks. I was what I considered at that time a heavy person as a size 9 (Most of the others it seemed where a size 0/3) I married right from HS and 2-1/2 years later became a mom at 21. I have 4 boys age ranging 25, 20, 14, and 11. They are the most wonderful gifts ever. My first marriage ended in 1994 and my soul mate found me the same year. I have been married 16 years to a man who has loved me no matter how large I was or thought I was. Could things be better? Sure! So many things I missed out on with my children that I do not feel comfortable participating in. Hence this procedure. I have researched this for more than 2 years now and with the change to my husband's insurance, was able to make this a reality. I have lost weight many times, through Dr. RX, WW, Fad diets to no avail. I hope this is the answer, as I KNOW I am a food-aholic. Even now, 3 days post op, sitting here typing, my mind is consumed on when I can have solids...and I FEEL HUNGRY!! Broth, water, crystal light...all tasts bland and I know I have to drink to stay hydrated. So many things I have not shared with my family, but so many things that I DID share with them are no more when it comes to food and outings and meals. It makes me question myself yet again.
