Tricare - requirements / nutritionist
Rsilversea replied to Taraj2004's topic in Insurance & Financing
Your best bet is to contact your Tricare repesentative. I didn't have to go through any monitored weight loss before surgery but I did have problems with Tricare stating I wasn't fat enough (or rather, I didn't meet their requirements). Eventually, my representative called them and read them their policy stating that I was indeed covered. Please contact your representative. They will know Tricare policy best and can help you. -
Jennifer Hudson did Weight Watchers. She's their new spokesperson.

Hoping to get back to WW by Oct 1. Been a busy month. Moved out of rental this week and getting our new home Thursday. Our furniture arrives on Friday then we have to go back to NJ for hubby's retirement ceremony on Sept 24. Done fairly well so far. Haven't really lost a lot (might have this week since there's been no food around) but I haven't been able to work out like I had been. That's going to change real soon. -
Your best bet, once your husband has gone through basic, is to contact your Tricare representative. He/she will be the best one to speak with as their have been changes (or are going to be changes real soon) to the plan.

You can't increase the weight just work faster. Not good. Free weights are much better or weight machines.

Time for a Revision??

Even after that description of what dumping is, I still don't know why anyone would consider themselves lucky to have it. It sounds awful but if you think it's helpful and it keeps you from eating wrong, then more power to you. -
My doctor and nutritionist approved the Cars gummy vitamins. They are the only ones I like.

I've been wondering how you were. Glad to hear you have such a great doctor. Keep us informed. I'll be thinking of you.

There is a policy change coming that will mean they go by BMI. Otherwise you will need to be 100 lbs overweight with co-morbidities. Please check with your health benefits advisor for the current policy. They will be able to help you out best.

We are in the final stages of buying our house. I found the nearest WW meeting--it's held in a pub! Oh well, it will be about a month before I can start up again. Had my first fill this week so maybe that will help me out in the meantime. -
Ouch! I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Congratulations!

She's stressing over a second job because getting fired sucks. Doesn't matter if it's a second job or not. I've been fired and I'm not ashamed to say I acted immaturely when it happened. I was never told over the phone that I was being fired just not to show up until I had spoken to the supervisor. Her supervisor wouldn't speak to me. Claimed ignorance. My immediate supervisor was an ass. I eventually tracked her down at work and asked what was going on. After getting fired, I went out and got some booze. Got buzzed and "forgot" to give my key back (I threw it out). I have never returned to the place and never will.

Very cool! Looking at it right now and checking out spots to walk (or ride my bike).

Taking a break from WW until we get settled in our new place. We are currently looking to buy our first home and I don't have the money for WW (ok, maybe we do but I'm not pushing it just now). Still going to journal and try to get my exercise in (exercising has been keeping me sane). -

I haven't had a fill yet so I still get hungry, even with the protein. But then again, I may not be getting enough. Prior to surgery, I actually kept track of how much I was getting. Since then I've focused more on how I eat as opposed to what I eat. I'm trying to change that now. My doctor refused to give me a fill since I had just gotten over being sick and he didn't want to make me more miserable. I have finally started getting back to eating around 1200 calories (or not using all my points). Being sick didn't help. All I could tolerate was my son's chocolate milk (low-fat at least) and WW ice cream. Then I had to get back into the swing of things. Took about a week but I'm doing it and I've cleared all the bad things out of the fridge again. Even better, we are going house hunting this weekend in MA so now I get to figure out how to eat on the road and watch myself while we're gone. yay -
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I haven't tried it but my doctor "yelled" at me for not eating enough protein last visit. I decided to cut down on how many carbs I eat and focus more on the protein. I'm still doing WW but I try to stay around 1200 calories as opposed to using all my points. Funny thing is, if I focus on the protein, I find I use a lot more filling foods and I'm not as hungry during the day. -
Members speak-- whats in your fridge??

It's thicker than regular yogurt and not as sweet. I usually add Splenda to sweeten it unless it's the fruit variety. -

What's in my fridge? Lots of leftovers, lol! I usually keep lots of water (with Crystal Light mixed in), Greek yogurt, cheese stix (not all for me, my 2 year old lives off those) and snacks for Daddy and son (usually regular pudding, kiddie yogurt and applesauce). I don't keep a lot of sugar-free pudding in the fridge. I'll eat most of it in one day. I try to keep fresh fruit around but not too much since I don't eat a lot of it. I keep some frozen fruit, frozen salmon patties and whatever I think we will eat for supper in the freezer. I try to keep lots of canned tuna and salmon in the cupboard because I love those. -
Tricare Approval or Denial??
Rsilversea replied to JamieNP's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It didn't take long to get the letter in the mail but I kept (well, actually my husband) kept after the Tricare rep. That's how I found out if I was approved or not.
