    Please help!!!!!

Using a civilian doctor. I live in New Jersey and don't feel like traveling just to get banded.
  2. I rather liked my "mess up." The hospital billed Tricare with my social instead of my husband's (even after I told them to use his). Got a $2000 bill from hospital Friday. Had to call billing and hope they correct it..soon!

Back from the trip from hell

Lol. Been there, done that. I don't think it was the kids who were the problem (other than being ill) but rather hubby. Mine's the same way. Drive til you get there at top speed. He should have been a fighter pilot.
  4. Talk to your Tricare specialist. They will have all the answers. I've heard BMI over 40, over 100 pounds with co-morbidities, over 200 with no co-morbidities, etc.

    Please help!!!!!

My husband is AD military and I'm scheduled to have surgery May 5. Just waiting on Tricare to approve. From what I have heard, you must have a BMI higher than 40 (mine's 41) or be 100 pounds over with co-morbidities but Tricare is cloudy on their requirements. Talk to your Tricare specialist. They will be able to help you. Good luck.
  6. I'm scheduled with a civilian surgeon and am covered by Tricare Prime. My BMI is 41% and I'm hoping that Tricare will cover me. So far my pre op has been covered (except the nutritionist). Has anyone been denied?

    Need Advice Re: Co-workers

My problem isn't co-workers but my family. I've told my husband's family but have not said anything to mine. My dad (who must weigh close to 300 pounds) would counsel me to "cut portions, drink more water, stop baking (hardly bake anymore anyhow), and exercise". Hypocritical if you ask me. Plus he refuses to see a doctor. I have a wedding in August and my surgery is scheduled for May 5th. I don't plan on saying anything until then. My husband's family though is very supportive.

    Starting my journey

Congrats on starting. I'm a month away from surgery and I'm both excited and scared. I have 40 years of bad habits to change. Pre op stuff doesn't worry me just what happens afterward (including "what if I fail?").
