  1. Happy 32nd Birthday MLBL!

  2. I also haven't been here for awhile. I have lost about 45lbs. In the last six months I haven't lost anything, but I also stopped tracking my intake and started eating off limits foods. The band does still keep me from over eating, which is what I wwant it to do. I really do understand that the band is a tool and I still need to do what everyone else doees (watch intake and exercise) to address my weight. I am still very happy that I got the band, and I feel very lucky that I haven't had issues with it.
  3. My husband is due to deploy in a few weeks. I atopped tracking my food for awhile andI have gained 2 lbs, but think once my TOM is passed I will level out. I have been back to tracking it for 5 days now. I use the MyFitnessPal app, and if anyone would like to add me my user name is marielblewis. I have been battling head hunger for the last two days like crazy. yesterday I ate 1800 calories which is the max I can eat without gaining. Today I am at 1000 and I haven't had dinner yet. I am going to hit up a protein shake and pray it helps. My calorie goal is 1200-1400 a day.
  4. I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much. On the bright side, you are so much healthier now and the surgeries will be much safer than they would have been before. I'm sure you already knwo that, but it really is a big deal. That's what we got banded for - to live. (((hugs)))
  5. I also wanted to add that after the first 10lbs or so my weightloss fell into a pattern. I will lose 1/2lb or nothing for a few weeks. Then in a week I will suddenly drop 3-5 lbs. It is not in sync with my period, so I'm not sure what is causing the pattern.

  7. I have been realy bad about getting with my online support. However, today I hit 50lbs lost. That is such a big deal to me! The best thing is that I know I will keep it off. Soon my DH will be deploying and that will be my real test. I usually gain 20-30 lbs while he is gone. This time my goal is to stay even. If I lose anything that will be a bonus.
  8. I wanted to post a quick update. First, at some point there was either miscommunciation or I was confused. I have a 14cc Realize band. That makes it s totally different thing. Second, I am now at 10cc and I am VERY restricted. I am actually thinking of having .25cc removed at my next visit. The band is suck a roller coaster - one miute nothing the next too much. At least now I know it is working and will work for me. That is a huge relief!
  9. I am at 9cc in my 11cc band and still have no restriction. Totally depressing. I have lost 22lbs since surgery, and 5 of that was on the pre-op diet.
  10. I now have 9cc in an 11cc Realize band and have no restriction. I have to admit it is getting depressing. What happens when I get to 11ccs? I asked my surgeon if it was possible to be totally filled with no restriction and he said no. I have read otherwise online and am worried I will be one of the people who say this never worked for me. When I say no restriction, I mean I can eat and drink like always. It is like I didn't have the surgery. I just realy don't know what to do about it
  11. If your Dr sent you for an independent barium study that shows the band is slipped that should be enough for your insurance to cover the removal. Get the Dr that ordered the study to do the referral. If I am misunderstanding and that is the same Dr. who will not admit there is a problem, removal or not, I would switch bariatric clinics ASAP. They are clearly not looking out for your best interests.
  12. I am also an emotional overeater and know I will struggle even with the band. It will be great for me to see how your journey goes. I will be one of the people you help
  13. That is great. Send some of that weightloss magic my way!

    Very Discouraged

I am two months out and lost 10lbs pre-op and only 3-4lbs since then  I feel ya. But, I do think it is because I don't have enough restriction for the band to be working yet. I am hoping to get somethign better next time.
  15. I felt that way before being diagnosed and treated for sleep apnea. If you haven't been using your CPAP maybe it is catching up with you? Sleep with it for a night and see if you feel better.
