he plot: a non-Terran spacecraft sets down outside the Royal Ontario Museum, and an eight-legged alien (named, as it later emerges, Hollus) walks into the museum and asks to see a paleontologist. The paleontologist on call happens to be Tom Jericho, who happens to have cancer. And when he learns that on Hollus's planet, scientists think it's just obvious that the universe was designed by an intelligent God, he finds that he has to deal with his own reasons for not believing in God (i.e. Cancer). Most of the plot is devoted to scientific and philosophical discussions between Jericho and Hollus.

I use a dryer sheet ("Bounce" mainly), just rub it all over you and stick it in your back pocket. never had problems since

I just finished "Rollback" by Robert J. Sawyer who is about equal to Heinlein in my view of sci-fi writers. ALL sci-fi fans must read ALL of his books. His book "Calculating God" converted me from atheism.

I think you are doing wonderful! I told you your kids would need their 'mom fix' sooner or later lol! By allowing the kids to set the pace, you will allow them time to recover and more important, for you to recover. When you decide to reveal your new boyfriend to your kids, my advice is to talk with him beforehand and ask him if he is just willing to be "in the background" just for a little while at least. Again, allowing your kids to set the pace is important because it does not sound like their father is doing that and look at how your daughter feels about it. After a little while, ask your daughter how SHE feels about the situation and take your cue from there. In my experience (remember, there are always variables) If your daughter accepts your new boyfriend, so will your son, he will take his cue from his little sister. Ask your daughter how your son feels about it if you can.

Picked up "The Return" by Bentley Little for $1 at a used book shop. I enjoy his Horror novels more so than Stephen King. Highly recommended for anybody looking for a traditional 'boogyman' story. Before King Fans rip my head off, let me say that "The Stand" (Uncut version) and "The Dark Tower" series are in my top 10

Just finished rereading "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Heinlein I first read "Alas Babylon" in 7th grade, one of the best. I may reread "Trinity" by Leon Uris or head down to the local B&N to see whats new.

While I do not have the experience of years or have any kids of my own. I do hope I can give my side as I am child of a "miserable marriage" and I think I can relate to your kids on a certain level and perhaps may be able to give you insight into the working of their mind. Let me start off by saying, your kids love you, never think otherwise. While your ex-husband may have motives such as "buying their love", it does not work that way. He cannot hurt you like that, don't let him, you gave your kids things money could never buy. Love, Comfort and Security cannot be bought they can only be given and received. Look at it this way, if your ex was emotionally and physically absent in their lives. Can you blame them for wanting to make up lost time? A parent is a parent, if they are not "there" in some capacity a kid will feel the loss. I understand how angry that it can make you. "I was there for my children and he wasn't, don't they see this?!?!" I understand that you are angry (and rightly so!) that after doing these things for your children that it seems like they have discarded/ignoring you, but they have not. In my humble opinion, like a body lacking a Vitamin they are craving their father and will take him however they can get it. Instead of being angry or sad, be Happy! by trying to hurt you he is making your children happy by giving them what they need. Don't worry, your kids will need their 'mom' fix sooner or later. If your ex is a big phony your kids will notice. Kinda like fast food, it may be filling but not satisfying. No matter how many toys and gifts your husband buys he still needs to give love in greater measure. If he does, rejoice! your kids will be happier and healthier for it. If he doesn't, you are vindicated and can enjoy a private little chuckle at his expense. In the long run it seems to me, YOU win.

- Earth's 4.5 billion year history is one long story of climate change. There were several periods in history, notably the Medieval Warm Period and the Holocene Maximum, which were much warmer than today. In the 17th century, Europe experienced the Little Ice Age, where temperatures were so consistently chilly that ice skaters reveled on the completely frozen London Thames. - From the 1940's until the 1980's, the Earth experienced a significant cooling period, despite the fact that industrial production and release of CO2 vastly accelerated during this time. This led to political and media scaremongering about global cooling, the threat that the earth was in the midst of a new ice age. The documentary featured telling clips from alarmist documentaries at the time that implored us to try and reverse the trend of worldwide temperature decrease or face meteorological apocalypse. - Antarctic ice core samples show that the rise in carbon dioxide levels lags behind temperature rise by 800 years, therefore cannot be the cause of it. The documentary exposes how Al Gore, in his film Inconvenient Truth, deliberately reverses these figures to claim CO2 causes temperature change, when in fact the opposite is the case. - If the Earth was laboring under an accelerated greenhouse effect caused by human produced CO2, the troposphere (the layer of the earth's atmosphere roughly 10-15km above us) should heat up faster than the surface of the planet, but data collected from satellites and weather balloons doesn't support this fundamental presumption. - The human contribution to carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is minimal in comparison to other natural means, including volcanic emission and CO2 produced by animals, bacteria, decaying vegetation and the ocean. The human "carbon footprint" is vastly outweighed by all of these factors. - Sun spot and solar radiation activity almost exactly parallels temperature change on the Earth. "Solar activity very precisely matches the plot of temperature change over the last 100 years. It correlates well with the anomalous post-war temperature dip, when global carbon dioxide levels were rising." The increase of cosmic rays produced by the Sun prevents the formation of clouds, which have a cooling effect on the planet, therefore the temperature rises. - The UN's much vaunted IPCC report was heralded as closing the case on the argument of man-made global warming. But as the show explains, the IPCC's conclusion was politically driven and they deliberately censored any dissenting scientists while still listing them as participants, leading many to threaten legal action against the IPCC to have their names removed from the report. Scientists who were invited to participate in the IPCC report expose the fundamental flaws contained throughout the document. - In the 1980's a strange alliance between Margaret Thatcher's right wing government and the environmental left was formed to promote the idea of man-made global warming. Thatcher's agenda was to force the country to adopt nuclear power because she trusted neither the oil-rich Middle Eastern powers nor her own country's rebellious coal mining unions, therefore a propaganda war against fossil fuels was initiated. - The documentary also highlights how elements of the scientific community exploit global warming hysteria in order to receive fast-track funding by simply tagging on a global warming aspect to their area of study. Scientists who attempt to obtain grants for research that could contradict the man-made explanation are shunned by the political establishment and further vilified as akin to Holocaust deniers by the radical environmental left and elements of the media.

Four arrested in Iraq 'honor killing' - CNN.com if the act is evil does that mean the faith is evil? If a person does a evil act then in general we consider the person to be evil, do we not? I have a problem with the argument that if a person does an evil act but does it because he is mislead or in ignorance of the evil of his act cannot be considered evil. God gave us free will to choose between the narrow path and the wide path. It is up to us and us alone as a individual to make that choice. In the bigger picture, can there really be a middle ground between evil and good?

I myself was never spanked, instead while holding me in the air by the wrist of one arm (till my shoulder dislocated generally) my mother used a closed fist while using all of her power to hammer at my backside (generally hitting the region of my lower/middle back) That is not spanking.
