I am a 44-year-old female blessed with a supportive husband and wonderful daughter who are my world.  I have struggled with weight and self-esteem issues my entire life and was at my all-time high when I began this journey nearly a year ago.  I always thought you had to be 100 lbs. overweight to be a candidate and was ecstatic to learn modern medicine looked at BMI vs. pounds.  My first consult was positive and I was ready to move forward with the surgeon, but my GP suggested Dr. Moazzez instead.  He had seen some post-op issues with the first surgeon and I trusted his advice.  Unfortunately, I had to go through a second seminar, appointments, etc., and lost a few months.  Then i had to comply with a 6 month program for nutrition counseling, GP supervision, exercise, etc., before insurance would approve me.  That's all behind me know and I am armed and ready to embark upon this great journey.  Part excitement, part trepidation, but totally committed to success.  The fun-loving, spunky and sexy me is about to emerge from this fat shell.  I know the journey will be a challenge, but with some strong support and the grace of God, I will conquer my weight and esteem issues.
