Had surgery April 2010 my max weight was 271, today I am 198 . My goal weight is 170 , I am close to 5'9 and large frame.

Right now my focus is on more core work and weight lifting to try to start toning. I am 48 years old and not sure if age has anything to do with

whether or not I will be able to get rid of the bat wings on my arms.

I have had a slow weight loss and at times was getting real discouraged. I had to take a good hard look at what I am doing , how my eating habits are.

My eating habits were pretty poor considering I use to weight over 270.

My eating habits are still questionable . I still tend to eat real fast and a lot and ultimately end up "slimming" or vomiting.I work evenings and eat dinner at work pm and often am very hungry by the time I get home around 10p. I always would eat something. At first I was able to get away with this until I was going to bed on a full stomach and started having acid reflux and waking up at night choking ... it was pretty nasty. I took a good hard look at what I was doing and had to get honest . Because I am hungry at night I started to eat something around 7 or 8 p at the latest. Things were getting better ,unfortunately the damage had been done. In Dec 2011 I was diagnosed with Bacterial Pneumonia and was hospitalized 5 days. It was caused from aspirating (when I was getting the acid reflux at night and choking).

This was all my own doing , I had a lot of support preop post op etc.. it was made pretty clear not to eat before going to bed.

Currently, I still need to work on eating slower, chewing my food longer. I still have slimming or vomiting daily and I believe it has to do with

not paying attention . I am getting better but it is not a science yet. After all I went 46 years with poor eating habits and I need to exercise patience , but continue with self awareness and modification.
