  3. I had my surgery in April 2010. I have only lost 25 pounds post op. I haven't gained any but I haven't lost any either. What sucks,I can't eat very much food at all with out vomitting it back up. My last fill was Oct 2010. I excercise, eat right.. no weight loss...

    Just got banded

I was banded April 2. Last night I slept uninterrupted for 7 hours.. I am so happy! It was until day 10 that I felt normal again. But I didn't have a hernia repair on top of the lapband. This two week liquid phase is no fun. I am surprised that your liquid diet is so restricted. Especially with fluid intake. Do you have a nutritionist? I spoke with mine a few times post op.. she said that we could do phone contact . Good luck! It gets better!! I have had 5 other abdominal surgeries , in hindsite this one was the easiest..

    1 month until "B"-day. Band date 05-12-10

I didn't tell too many people I was having the surgery. As the psychiatic doctor who did our evals and runs the support group says.. " our health is private information". The statics show that with conventional weight loss programs a obese person has a 90% ( number can be a little off) chance of gaining all weight back within a year. A person who has bariatric surgury and follows the program has a much higher rate of keeping that weight off. Too early can't remember those exact numbers. Have faith in yourself. I myself did not do this surgery to fail. I am following the book. So far so good. Much luck to you!

    Help/complication after complication

My heart goes out to you. There is nothing worse then being that one person who has all the problems. Any given proceedure can have complications even routine dental work can turn into a nightmare. Be strong and our thoughts and prayers will be with you!

Desperately need lap band removed Erosion Insurance will not cover

I don't know what you can do. Have you gone back to the Dr. who placed it ? BTW how did you know it was eroded? I am so sorry to hear you are going through this.
  11. Hello, I saw that you had the same surgeon that I did for lap banding. How are you doing now? Do you do to the meetings? I was just banded less than two weeks ago. I still have some soreness. Weight is pouring off. Eating is not all that interesting to me.

    Take care Robin

    5 days post op

Just wanted to say hello my name is Robin . I just had my surgery last Friday April 2,2010. I was held over night ( my doctor said I looked too green). I was glad he was being careful. I have a history of vomiting after surgery. I was given a seasick patch behind my ear, seabands and I still was green. I didn't vomit. YEAH! Post op I had the left shoulder pain. That was a 8-9 at times. I had so much gas. Unfortunatly the other problem I had was a IBS attack. Although it doesn't take much to bring one on . Shoulder pain is gone, diarrhea as well. The surgery itself wasn't a problem. BUT.... the port is on my right side at my waistline and because I was having extreme diarrhea for three days the port location is SORE!!! Hopefully this to shall pass. Especially when the belly folds of fat decrease. Time for rest. Robin:blushing:
