I have been over weight all of my life. When I reached my 40's my health started to decline. When I reached 50 years old I was taking 23 pills a day for all kinds of health problems. I was insulin resistant, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and a million other things. I was at the Dr.'s office when a friend told me she had just had the lap band surgery and I should mention it to my Dr. I did and she agreed it would help me. I did not want to take that many pills for the rest of my life.So I took the next step and went to a seminar. I had my doubts about the lap band but I figured this could be a way I could get off all that medication.I did a lot of research before I made the commitment to do this. I decided to have the surgery and so glad I did. Today, I take 2 pills a day besides my vitamins. I haven't lost all that much weight (34lbs) but the key for me was to get off the meds. Bottom line is; I'm not where I want to be with my weight goal, but I'm not where I used to be either.
