    Any June Bandsters???

8 days post op and I'm feelin' GREAT!!!
  5. Hi, It's great that you all have begun to enjoy your workouts more and have the desire to amp it up a bit. That extra energy is from all that time not being able to be as active as you'd like to have been andthe strength you aquired from carrying that extra weight on your bodies. BUT... there is a thing of working out tooo much. Too much exercise will begin to canabilize your muscles causing them to eat themselves because there is not fat content on the body. The muscles will also start depleting themselves because that have not been allowed to recuperate. By not allowing your body to actively rest you open yourself up to infection and disease. Without proper rest, the chance of "stroke" or other "circulation" problems increases, and a greater risk of injury will occur. Add some kick boxing, or MMA style exercise to your routines

Hi, I'm still here!! I got banded on the 18th of June. It went better this time. I'm home now, back to work still feelin' the pain but doing better. Since pre and post-op I've lost 26 lbs. I'm so ready to get back to working out. Keep in touch guy's!!!:bored:
  7. Hi, That's cool! I got my surgery done at Howard University Hospital in Washington DC , by Dr.Fullem he's a really cool doctor very personable and a great staff. I'm feeling really well. I worked from home on Monday and went in to work today. I went walking yesterday and will walk again tomorrow morning and later in the evening. I've lost 5lbs since coming home Saturday afternoon (Water weight) I imagine. But I'm doing me breathing exercises to expand my lungs and have redress my sutures an cleaned them. I feel great!! I hope you do as well! 8) :smile2:
  8. I got banded last FRiday on June 18th. I havent told my coworkers and dont intendt to. I've only told 1 family member nad my immediate supervisor. It's not their business, an I dont need or want to be the topic of conversation when I'm not around. I dont care about their speculations, but more that anything else I just dont want them in my business. 8)
  9. Finally, got banded on June 18th. My surgeon had an out of town emergency and wanted to postpone it till the 25th because he would not be there post-op. But if I was ok with that then he would go ahead with the procedure. I was ok with it, and actuall ready to get it done, because it had already been rescheduled twice. Everything went well this time. In an out without incident. Stayed overnight and the Howard University hospital bariatric staff looked after me like I was family! It was really great. I came drove Saturday afternoon and was shopping and everything. I feel great no complaints. I thought the gas pain was hype...but it wasnt! But once the extra internal pressure was released I was fine, and am doing very well.

    Any June Bandsters???

I was supposed to have a surgery on Thursday the 27th of May. They had to call off the surgery. The anesthesiologist tried to force a tube that was too large down my vocal cords to have the machine breathe for me while I was sedated:cursing:. I literally was not breathing for a little over 2 minutes. They place a mask over my face to take me out of the paralysis stage, but were not sure if the air got into my stomach as well as my lungs, because if so then all of the bile and other acidic juices, and moisture would have dire consequences. My surgeon had to come and rescue her, as well as myself I ended up in their ISCU which it a more critical part of the regular ICU. I stayed in ISCU for over nine hours while being monitored every 30-60 minutes and taking continual vital sign checks and blood pressure reading. I also had to perform numerous breathing and lung tests. Needles to say I have to be rescheduled within the next 2weeks after the scarring from my throat heals and the blood is totally gone from my stomach from where she tried to force the tube. I have to cough up the blood!!! :tt2: If I'm a general anesthesiologist, and the tube is not going in within the first 30 - 45 seconds then I'm getting a scope to go in or am going to get the attention of the surgeon. I'm not going to try to force the tube while leaving the patient without oxygen for over 2 minutes. Needles to say I wont be using her for the upcoming surgery. But GOD was with me and placed other capable people around me. I know she didn't intentionally try to hurt me but she should have let go of her pride and call for help. I could have ended up a vegetable ... or worse!! Praise GOD for his mercies!!
