Women with pcos and lap band

I have PCOS and with my band I have lost 175 lbs. I am 2.5 years post, ans I am 19 weeks pregnant. I had so many failed pregnancy's and trouble with my periods. My DR's told me that it just would not happen for my husband and I. But here I am 19 weeks with a healthy pregnancy. Don't loose hope. Loose the weight and before you know it, a baby. Good fortune to all of you hopeful mommies out there.
  2. Anyone experiance gall bladder issues after loosing a lot of weight?

    Gall bladder

Yeah I am down 121 lbs. But I don't have insurance, lost my job...so..can't have it romoved. Were you on liquids when you had your gall bladder problems?
  4. We are all differant. I have only had two 1ml fills. But my husbands boss had to have like 10 fills. I am glad that your surgery went well. Keep me posted on your success. Have a great day!!

  5. So, I had a de-fill, un-fill, whatever you want to call it. I only had two cc's anyway. I am still experiancing super sluggish gastic emptying. Has anyone experianced this? Still experiancing reflux, no heartburn....just gastric Fluid flowing up my throat and causing me to cough. Unfortunatly this is occurring mostly at night. I went on liquids for a week and progressed slowly on to solids, using the post surgery diet as a model. Now a month later after having all of my symptoms disapear, they are back, not as bad as they once were, but reoccurring again. Help, anyone ever have this happen?:confused:;)
  6. How are you doing post op??

  7. I am two years post-op. I have lost 100 lbs, and I can tell you that I have cheated, I have eated too much, I have vomited, I have done it all. I have also reaped what I have sown. I am an emotional eater, for me I know that, I still get caught up in what ever is happening and forget that I cant just eat to make it all better. So I suffer some pain. I am however getting better at this, every day that passes I am gettting better at realizing why I eat what I eat and what my triggers are. I thought that I would never cheat because I had gone through so much to have the band in the first place. Everyone cheats...just like every one picks their nose or scratches their butt. Don't be so close minded that you think "It wont happen to me" cause it will. And when it does you will feel like crap, just make better choices. That my friends is all any of us can do. Try every day to make better choices. Peace, Ang~
  8. Make sure that you walk alot. Eat as many icy treats as you want. Post-op, you will be in alot of pain. Make them give you the pain meds, Stock up on childrens Ibuprophen. Sleep as much as you can, sleep elevated. to move from sitting put a pillow to your stomach and hold it there with strong pressure. Oh, gas-x, No one tells you that you won't be able to burb, and when the gas gets stuck at your back you think you are dying. The swelling goes down after a couple of days. And the diet that they give you post op, DO NOT DEVIATE! I did and I thought I was going to die. The mental stuff is where this lap-band is a pain. Your brain will tell you that you are so hungry, that you need 12 donuts, you will order food that you cannot possible consume, and you will do it time and again. It took about 8-10 months before my brain started to catch on.

Good luck. Oh one more thing, tell your wife to drive slowly back from the hospital when she takes you home.

  9. YAY!! 96 lbs. But I am experiancing some problems. I go to sleep on and empty stomach, drink only Water, no soda, no coffee, water and hot tea thats it. But I am regurgitating clear liquid in my sleep, it goes into my lungs, sinus cavity, and mouth. There is no color, completly translucent, nothing solid in it, and it is not acidic. I am not drinking anything after 8 and I am in bed by about 10:30pm. My stomach is constantly making this sound that can only be described as a frog like "ribbit". When I relax and start to transition into sleep my stomach makes alot of these "ribbit" sounds and I belch, with the air coming up my throat comes this liquid. I have begun to take two gas-x before bed. This helped for about two weeks and I was able to sleep the whole night through. However, the last three nights I have been waking up coughing, vomiting, or to have my nasal cavity filled with this liquid that then runs down my face. I lost my job and currently dont have insurance, so I need a little direction. I have no problems with reguritation of food, during the day I am fine. This is a nocturnal issue only. But I would donate a kidney if I could just get some sleep. Thanks.

    New and Nervous!

No worries, I too went through True Results out of Phoenix. And it was great. You will have an EKG and a sleep study most likely. They will have you begin a special diet to lighten your liver for about a week or two and then you will have your surgery. GOod Luck!!

Post op 2 yrs, down 96 lbs

I have only had two fills. I have 2 mls, in my band. Not to mention that my last fill was a year ago. I really really dont want to have my fill pulled, only to gain back my weight. I am going to try to change up my meals. Try to change what I am eating and see if it makes a differance. If not, then I will go to the doc. But I have to say this sucks!
