    A decision to Trust!

Wonderful post, and oh so true! Thank you so much!

    Info or Advice?

Your post really made me think -- I tend to give a lot of advice on the blogs and I'm really in no position to do so. I try to make it encouragement, but re-reading some of my replies sounds a lot like advice to me. Its hard. Other people (outside of us LBers), love to give advice. I hear it all day. Most of it goes in one ear and out the other. The only advice I listen to is mine (LOLOL), my trainer, my doctor and my workout buddy. Sorry on the flaking friend, but you did really well by going to Jazzercize instead! I probably would have just gone home. Throw me over some of your motivation, please :-)

Almost 2 years out and back to surgery I go.

I am so sorry! Do you have an idea about what you did or didn't do to cause it? Your blog implies you think you need to be more careful? Is it eating or the band? Are they just going to move it back into place or do they need to take it out? I don't know that much about it. Please know you are in my prayers.

    Random ramblings @ midnight

You need to think of yourself -- your health, peace of mind, well-being. Like you said you are only 22! You have your whole life ahead of you, and that life will be full of making healthy choices and active lifestyle changes. I hope you got some sleep!!!

Two weeks and a day out!

Congratulations! I'm so glad you recovered so well from your scare after surgery. I read your profile and I am in awe of your dedication and motivation both in banding and in life. Thank you for your update, best wishes..........

    260 how I hate you!

It feels like forever when you are going through it, but trust me soon you'll be reading back through your blogs and trying to remember why you posted that! Our bodies don't seem to follow the rules of simple science -- 3500 calories less in than out = a pound lost. But lots of factors contribute to that. Stick to your plan, try to cut yourself a break, and try not to weigh for another week. You'll get there, and we'll be there with you all the way :-)

    Strange way of eating

Wow you guys eat much less than I do! I'm definitely getting a fill! LOL. I find (good or bad) if I drink coffee I'm more hungry. I also eat more when I'm bored. I don't think I'm really hungry, I just eat. I have had 2 fills and have 7.25cc in there already. You are both doing fantastic!!!

Where did July go? Checking In.

Great blog, and good news things are turning around. Congratulations on getting to the gym and having some new sizes fit! You are doing fantastic, thank you for checking in and providing motivation :-)

First fill was a complete failure

That was really uncalled for. I'm sure I'm in the same circumstance and I never got that comment from the doctor or the PA after 3 post-surgery visits (including fills). He's being lazy and mean. Maybe its just a bad day. I'm having one today so I'll lay off him now. Good luck at radiology; I'm sure it will all work out :-). Take care of yourself!

    My Addiction

I went to one class and I liked it, but I have no coordination and I haven't gone back. Good for you! Enjoy the class and the awesome exercise :-)

To Fill or Not to Fill.........

I had my second fill on 7/19. For the next week I stayed on liquids and when I strayed at all I had major issues with PBing/stuck/etc. Starting about Friday of last week no longer felt any restriction. Hungry about every 2-3 hours and although I never ate more than 1 C of food every 3 hours I was still hungry when I was done. I do have to chew more and eat more slowly. Drink good water (70+ oz a day). Probably eat 4 meals a day? (1 is a little grazing kind of thing?) Didn't work out as much last week or the week before as I was weak and unmotivated. My next fill appointment is Friday afternoon (8/6). I think I'm getting closer, but I don't know if I should fill or flee for now. I'd like the band to work a little more at restricting amount and number of times, but I'm worried it will be too much. Here's my fills: Had 4cc in 10 cc band at surgery (5/26). First fill to 5.5cc on 6/28. Second fill to 7.25cc on 7/19. Two fears: overfilling and what happens if I get to 10cc and I'm still not getting the restriction? Its a quandry, I tell you :-) Your input is welcome and appreciated........

    worried

I think you have to do what you are ready to do! If the only thing you get from the forum or the blogs are people unhappy about weight loss or pains or negativity, you might want to rethink where you are. I read those, and realize there are many many more positive comments. No big decision, like this one, comes without a price. Whether that is post-surgical pain, financial, depression -- you have to be ready for that and face it. When you do (and you will) and you overcome those things you will be a stronger person inside and out? I don't really know if my weight loss is above, below or at the average. I just know that I feel a TON better than I have in years -- energy, blood pressure, lighter, fun with clothes ----. I get a lot of support from co-workers, friends, family and lap band groups here (online) and at my surgeon's offices. I could not have felt as good as I do without this support. Good luck to you! Best wishes on making your decision based on your heart :-).

The best decision I've ever made!!!!!!!

Some people, especially those really close to us, have a hard time adjusting to the changes we are making physically, emotionally, mentally. Stick with your plan; you are doing great! If you have access to a psychologist at your surgeon's office, spend some time talking to them about issues with your hubby and ways to overcome them. I've seen lots of posts about this. I'm single, so I can't help, but you are in my prayers! Congrats again on your success so far.
  17. You are doing so amazing! I hope you are doing well!

  18. Hi again! I hope you are doing well! I have 3 books I bought from amazon.com that I read cover-to-cover back in February (surgery in May), and they are gathering dust! I'd love to send them to you if you'd like? My email is sandy.devine@cox.net. Drop me a note. I'm also going to send you a friend request?

I love your blogs. Keep it up!

    Question About Pouch Stretching

I thought I read somewhere that if you take frequent laxatives it can stretch as well? Like ex-lax, not something more organic? I will try to find that this afternoon. Has anyone heard of that?

    I feel fat.

Its hard, I know. There are days where I wake up feeling 60 (I'm not!) and 300 lbs (I'm not!). I feel like its just part of the program -- some days are just simply better than others. There is some great peppermint foot cream by Bath and Body Works. When I'm feeling tired and my feet ache I massage that in at night and put some little footies over. Smoother feet and feel so good! I'm with you all the way! Hope you feel "lighter" today!

    Emotional Eating Sessions

The first emotional eating session held at the surgeon's office by the psychologist on staff starts tonight at 6:00. There are days when I think they are going to be a waste of my time, and more days where I realize most of my eating is emotional and I need to learn how to control it better. Although I'm at or close to the sweet spot, I still find myself reacting to stress/traffic/boredom by thinking I'm hungry. Even if I eat something it isn't much and its healthy, but I can't eat a lot which is good. I'm still basically running for the refrigerator when I get home from work (after a 90 minute minimum commute). Yesterday I tried to drink my favorite vitamin water zero on the way home. I wasn't even hungry when I got in the door but I was hot and stressed and went straight for the turkey meat! After about 3 bites I was full for the time being and I could move on to do something else. I'm hoping to learn better coping mechanisms for the ride home and arrival home. So I'm looking forward to these sessions. They are enrollment only and limited to 12 people so we'll get some great support over the next six (or eight?) sessions. It will never beat the support we all give each other on this site! Take care everybody and have a wonderful day!!! ---- Sandy ----

Well, there it is...a picture of me

Just put my makeup on for the day and I'm crying!!You are doing so well, you keep this picture as a reminder! And you look really good in the picture -- even though you want to look better you have to take heart in the fact that you've taken this step, you are making major changes, and that you have support around you! Your daughter is beautiful! And oh by the way, I have your shirt in hot pink............ You sound like a great mom and a great person. Enjoy this time. Your picture will change every month. Thank you for your post........... ---- Sandy ----

    Maybe too much!!

Go back to liquids or mushies and see if that helps. Maybe the cold is just throwing you off a little? I've read where people go in for small unfills months after the fills -- if you still have problems wednesday i'd call. I'm going in for my third fill Friday! I didn't think I needed it up till last week but now I'm wanting to have the PA consider it. Hope you feel better :-)

    Not Enough Calories?

Turkey and chicken are good sources of protein as well. I like slices of deli turkey or chicken around string cheese or even a low fat sesame stick. My little snack in the afternoon is 1/4 can of the chicken breast, chopped up really fine with some cilantro and onion and a smidge of miracle whip, using carrot sticks or sesame sticks as dip. You get a lot of protein, a little veggy or carb, and it holds you over for a long time! The other ideas are protein shots or greek yogurt. Good luck!
