    November Bandsters!

Hi November Bandsters! I did my first walk on treadmill today -- felt good! I just hate to do it I don't know why, but I know it is a change I need to make. I am still on the pureed liquid diet. Only hunger is head hunger and that for some reason hits between 7 and 9 P.M. I did have chicken enchilada soup from Chilis -- brought home and aded the cheese and put it into the blender. It was great! It is great to hear from everyone as they check in. Best Wishes to all!

    November Bandsters!

Hi November Bandsters, I am back from Tijuana. I have to say that Dr. Kuri and his staff were wonderful. The surgery was uneventful and so far really very little discomfort. Still on clear liquid. I feel like I want to burp all the time but dont -- like a bubble in my esophagus. So husband has gone to town to get heating pad as suggested in my instructions to relax stoma. Everybody was right that I've been reading here -- popsicles are the best!!!
  3. I am preparing for Band Surgery on Nov. 11. I am so ready, but a liitle nervous. I am a self-pay traveling to Mexico. Most of family and friends are against this, but I feel.....I have made right decision for me.:clap2: I recently retired (33 yrs. of teaching) and am ready to enjoy myself, but am almost handicapped because of weight. I need a knee replacement broke knee cap (10 yrs. ago), but Drs. naturally want me lighter! Scheduled surgery is with Dr. Kuri! What do you advise I take and know before leaving? I have enjoyed reading posts and am impressed by what so many have accomplished!
  4. I/ll let you know how it goes. Congratulations on your approval!

    November Bandsters!

I am truly inspired by all the posts and the great surgery results for the November bandsters. I am holding on better than I expected with the pre-surgery diet. My husband and I fly out Friday and Saturday is my big day. I don't think I listed Dr. previously -- Dr. Kuri. Gas-X sounds like something I should definitely pack.
  6. Thanks for the encouragement. Just thinking about having an active life again is what keeps me going! My first grand child was born on Oct. 3 seeing him grow up is a great incentive.

    First Entry

I am very excited about Nov 11 lapband surgery.:clap2: I am hearing good things about Dr. Kuri and that has relieved some of my misgivings about going to Mexico. My immediate family is happy with my choice. But sisters and their husbands not nearly so kind. It has been very upsetting. I have made flight arrangements and DH is getting off work to go with me. This is the beginning of the rest of my life. I am ready to take my like back. Golas: Take a both in the tub. Be able to get badly needed knee surgery Less medication Walk for 3 miles Tie my shoes Fasten my seat belt Have my griwn sons not worry about me as much Be active on family outings No clothes wth an X on it:rapture:
