Mostly its gone. I really have to watch what I eat and not eat too much. I have had all my fill removed now for a month. I go back in for a fluro on friday the 16th to see how everything is doing. I sure I was stuck!

I'm from canada and it seems that even the fill doctor doesn't know. I was the one to tell him that he needs to take out the fill. His report reads 'esophagus is moderately distended and tortuous'.... did he tell me to drink liquids....eat soft food.... My Family doctor doesn't even know what to perscribe.... Geesh! I have no liquid in my band! A surgeon wants to take it out!..... After care is important!

Do they repair laporscopticly?

How is you esophagus? Is is ok?

I had this issure and found out that I was stuck. I could not drink, and when I woke there was a bad tasted in my throat. I went to the doctor and they took out my fill and I could feel my band pop! I now have to heal my esophagus. It is inflamed and torturous. They did a fluro scopy.

Go take out the fill!

my goal is to lose 80 lbs. My Bmi is 34 and I have been heavy all my life. Does anyone have an Idea how much a average weight loss is post surgery for a person with my BMI? Just wondering. I know you are not supposed to expect weight loss in recovery.

I have my follow up on Friday to see if my slip has corrected itself, prayers, good thoughts and crossed fingers are very welcome. How are youi doing! My thought and prayers are with you!

Hopefully you are going to follow the rules after surgery. It is not easy doing the 6 week diet of liquids and mushies. I didn't do a good job of it. I lost about 10 lbs after surgery. So far I have lost 30lbs. The weight loss is great I love it. What I love more is not thinking about food all the time. I love my lap band. Thank God. If alchoholics could get a tool to stop them drinking or a drug addict could get this to stop the drugs they would be so happy. Thats how I feel about my lap band. I have been heavy all my life. I have so many bad habits. The lap band is very strict. You have to follow rules. Chew eat slowly Take small bites don't eat or drink after 6 1 cup a food per serving. No snacking. I am going for another fill as soon as I can. My doctor does it under floro and is not very aggressive. The more you are aggresive with the fills the more weight you will lose. I have a 4cc band and my 3 fills total 1.7cc. Everyone is different, but I really started losing weight when I had good restriction. It has been 22 weeks since my surgery. Hope I helped.

Anybody have noise coming from their throat after they eat and drink? It's almost like I have a bird in my throat and other people can hear. ... Is it a burp? Can I do something to stop it? Idea's:confused:

at last. I'm almost able to roll over in bed without pain. My swelling is down and I'M ON MUSHIES. MMMMM. Don't mean to sound like a baby. Down 6lbs so far since april 27th. YEA! Healing and losing.

Thanks Leigha I really don't think 1lb a week is so bad. I recently spent 6 months on Weight Watchers and only lost 30 lbs; discouraged but happy to be shy of 30. I gained it back over christmas (what a rollercoaster). I have a dog and love to walk (He makes me). Thanks for the encouragement it means alot to me. I am not going to weigh myself till June 8th. That's my 6 week mark. Still sore and very puffy:blink: You rock on weight loss, I have faith you will acomplish your goal. Are you worried about maintenance? How do you stop weight loss? It's never been a problem before for me but my husband asked me and I didn't have the answer.

Hi GP Bandsters, I'm getting my band on tues in mexico. Dr. Jim does fills in GP hospital, but you need a GP doctor to fill out the paperwork to send you.

Im female, 21 years old and need to loose 50 pounds to be at my good weight.. im english and living in dubai- where i will get the band done! ] I was overwieght at 21 too and I lost and gained and gained and lost. the statistics are that you have less than 5% chance of keeping your weight off. Why wouldn't you see a doctor for a known illness. Why are we thinking we can do the same thing(DIET) and end up with different results? (I've struggled with my weight ever since i can remember, i always excercised and dieted but nothing worked and every year i seem to get heavier and heavier..i dont want to have to wait until im in my 30s or 40s before getting this doen because i want to start living now. I think im making the right decision thugh i know alot of people will look down on me for getting this done, especially saying im too young..) now that I'm older:eek: I relize that through my constant dieting and execising I have actually harmed myself. My metabolism is shot. I have thyroid problems because I starved myself.... Why would you put yourself through that? You are young take advantage of the technology. If you think people are looking down on you and saying your too young ask them "How long does skin stretch before it won't shrink back?" "Is it better to change my lifestyle when I'm young OR when I have really developed some nasty habits?" "Is it better that I'm Sick with diabetes and High blood pressure so I can die of a heart attack." looking forward to hearing feedback! No young is the best time to really kick the weight to the curb.

I'm seeing Dr. kuri. My Doctor said she would work with me but she really knows nothing about WLS. These were her words as she was backing out the door looking at her watch. I'm so happy to have Canadian health care.:thumbup:

I'm from Canada and have a BMI of 34 I am going to Mexico because Canada will not do Band surgery less the 40 and 35 without comorbids. I am very excited!
