    437 lbs Yikes!

    I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I started my journey on april 8 , 2010 . I weighed 436 the week before surgery and as of today I weigh 288 so you can lose good with the band. It is work every day, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have slowed down some now on the weight loss but atleast it is still going down. Congradulations on becoming a bander.

    you are right but my weight loss has slowed downed for two months now. I am just trying to figure out how to speed it back up some. I still have about 90 pds. to lose. I was to tight last month and the dr. took some fluid out. Now this month he sayes I still did good because I had an unfill and still lost weight. I joined the gym to try to speed the loss back up some and I guess I need to learn to take one day at a time and not rush it because it didnt come on over night .

    Thanks so much for the reply and advice. You are so right about the food journal. I have not had to keep one in the whole time that I have been banded but something has to give. I will be checking in to a personal trainer at the gym . I am just wanting to get the scales moving again. I lost 3 pds last month and 2 pds this month. I just have to figure out want I need to do to speed it back up some. Thanks again for your advice.
  5. I had the lap band put in on 4-08-10 . I have lost 148 pds. and have really slowed down on the weight loss. I need to lose another 80 pds atleast. I joined a gym this week. I have worked out three days in a row and all cardio . The problem is I have gained 3 pds. in the three days. I dont understand why. I can honestly say that the scale has always went down or stayed the same not went up. I guess my question is , is this normal and will it start going back down.

    Reached another big goal!

    thank you all for your replies. It really is an great feeling. One year ago i couldnt even see myself getting to this point so quick and I no I have a long ways to go still, but not near as much as I did.

    Reached another big goal!

    I finally reached the # 2 in front of my weight. I couldnt be more happy. The last time I posted I had hit a stall and was going back to basics. It worked I am now down 138 pds. woo hoo. I have around six weeks till my one year mark. I really want to have lost 150 pds. by then. I hope every one is doing well . I will check in later. Rhonda

    thanks for the support and responses. I finally lost 2 more pds this morning after about two weeks. I think I may be a little to tight but I have been reading up on being to tight and one thing I am trying is to drink something warm about 30 minutes before I try to take my meds. and will also try it before I eat when I try to eat again. After being sick for two days I really am not ready to eat yet. MrsMustang thanks for you comment and good luck on your surgery and I will say a prayer for you. Keep us posted on how everything goes. Gorda123 Thanks for your comment and I think you are doing great. I have so much weight to lose that I am only half way with my weight loss and I love the way you look at this process and will diff. try to remember to look at this the same way. I have been overweight since the birth of my daughter and she is 26 now. Wow When I look at it that way it really does help .lol It may take a while but it has been here for ever so that is ok.

    stalled out !!

    Hey everyone!! Just needed to remind myself of how well I have done so far. I have stalled on losing weight . It is the first time since my surgery that I cant seem to lose . Im not gaining but not losing. I think I may be to tight right now but Im not sure. I cant eat in the morning which is not a problem because I dont really like to eat breakfast anyway. I try to eat lunch and the first few bites come back up . The dinner does the same thing. I wind up snacking on peanuts which are not all that great for low carb diet I have been following. I started exercising more and still not losing. I guess this will pass also. I have lost 130 pds but still need to lose 120pds. I am going to go to full liquids again to see if that will bring me back to losing again. My one year mark will be April 8 and would love to be lost 150pds by then. Well I guess I will go and do some exercise or something. I hope everyone is doing well and losing weight. God bless everyone and keep on keeping on.

    still trying to figure this new stuff out.

    wow !! I am not very good with the computer in the first place and now I am learning all over again. I havent posted in a while so I thought I would let every one that I am still here and still losing weight. It has slowed down some but that is my faught I am sure. After this last fill I think I was to tight. I couldnt eat much at all and I think my body was in starvation mode. I would get sick and the bite or two that I would get down would come back up. Then I had to learn how slow and how well chewed the food really needed to be. I am just now getting where I can eat a little more. I have lost 117 pds now. which is 16 pds in the last six weeks. So I cant complain. I am 8 months out tomorrow and I can honestly say that I am still learning. I no one thing I need to work on is getting more exercise. I am working on that one. I hope every one is still here and still doing well. God bless every one and I hope every one has a blessed Christmas. Thanks for reading. Rhonda

    Finally reached a 100 pds down!!!

    I cant belive that I am down 101 as of today. I was banded april 8,2010 . I just had a birthday this past week and that is such a great gift to myself and to my family which I can do so much more stuff with. I love my band. I hope everyone is having a great day and keep up the great work everyone.:w00t::smile2::smile2:

    I am so proud of you! I wish I could manage to even run and the 5k wow . It sounds like you had great support from the family. Keep up the great work. Hope the rest of your weekend goes great.
  15. Thanks for your comment . As far as what I eat I do the low carb diet which my dr suggested. I do not have any carbs except what is in veg. I was told to have no more than 30 carbs a day so I try to leave those for hidden carbs that I dont no is in something. I also only eat the 3 meals and try not to snack inbetween meals. If I do have something I make sure it is 0 carbs. I hope this helps.
