  1. OMG! I went through the same thing. I wore the same clothes for the most part of the first 6months. The smaller you get the more distance those LBS go. Don't worry you'll get there.

Band vs Bypass aka What do you say when ppl....

I wanted to be as healthy as possible which, for me, meant no malabsorption. I fear looking sick for the sake of being skinny. Heck, I feared being sick for the sake of being skinny, dumping aint pretty. I am a control freak and the band allows for the maximum in control. I can control my weight loss and have used the band to build a healthy lifestyle. At the time, I was keen on the fully reversible aspect. I am glad I chose the band but if ever I needed to removed it, I would reconsider the more permanent procedures. These were my reasons and I can relate to everyone's reasons for choosing their respective surgeries. I hope for you that, like me, your wls experience has not disappointed.

    My girlie gene is weak!

Exercise and more exercise. That's what worked for me. I work with the band. You can shoot me a PM if you want, I like this thread too much to hijack it.

    My girlie gene is weak!

Touche, I am definately not lacking in the girly gene. So I guess half a tomboy doesn't count:tongue:. But if a potty mouth makes me a bad girl, I'll TAKE IT!

Q for the ladies: Changing body shape?

Mine changed dramatically. Although I carried most of my weight in the middle, I was never a true apple. I had a big soft belly with a defined waist, and proportionately large thighs and upper arms but slim calves and lower arms and a small boned frame. Described on Igigi.com as a figure eight shape. Now, I am somewhere between a pear and an hour glass with a smaller fleshy belly. The belly is still a problem but its nothing another 50lbs and a TT wont cure. On second thought, it could very well be the same figure eight but minus 120lbs. OMG! Catherine what a cool link! I wish I had done it like that!

    goofy signals you are full.....

Maybe its some weird ear/nose/throat connection. I just started noticing it myself. At first I used to hiccup and every now and then I still do.

    My girlie gene is weak!

LOL you guys are hilarious! Im a girly girl, but a well rounded one. I love skirts, dresses, purses, and heels (OMG SHOES!). Yes even though Im a 6fter, I like towering over people. Nothing pleases me more than when Im the tallest person in a subway car. I love video games, I dont wear makeup, I get maybe a pedicure a year (I have nice feet though), never get manicures, my hair is au naturale and mostly wash and go, plus ive been told that I drive like a man and I curse like a sailor. :cursing: I love strong female characters in books, movies and games. My favorites are Eve Dallas from Nora Roberts' In Death series and Starbuck on BSG. I cant stomach a movie where the women are weak. So I stay away from lifetime, anything by Tyler Perry, and Greys (*Pick me, choose me = nails +chalkboard). To the OP: A skirt is cut on the bias just means that the fabric was cut for the pattern diagonally across the bolt. My pink tutu is showing!

Ideal calorie count to lose the most weight?

I take in roughly 700-1000 cals daily. I rarely have Protein shakes but when I do my intake is on the lower end of that spectrum. My biggest crutch has been pre-workout granola bars. Im starting to feel like they aren't cutting it in the energy+nutrition areas. I'm thinking about going back to morning shakes.

What are you listening to right now?

Joga- Bjork My favorite song ever! ahhh......
  14. Ditto. Find an exercise that you like and do it daily (or close to it). Take it easy when you start and be consistent. Ignore naysayers and negative people. You can do it.

post your before & during/after pictures

A2bachik, Sarahthree, Janesays, xtanyax, Mrsebg you all look smashing!. Everyone looks amazing! With a capital "A"! Sarahthree, I cant agree more that B&A's are huge motivators, for others as well as for ourselves. Ive been inspired by so many other bandsters, here is my contribution. OMG WHY DO I LOOK SO CONFUSED TODAY!
  16. EVERYONE YOU LOOK AMAZING! What a difference the band makes! Okay I guess its my turn to take the B&A plunge! Here is where I've been and where I am so far. I'm pretty happy with how the weight is coming off. Still working at getting to goal though. What does a girl have to do to lose this gut! I hope this helps anybody who is on the fence. Join the band! BTW: I had to include a pic of me walking in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! It was AWESOME!:mad2:

    Back to the Drawing Board

So recent events like my slight unfill and this stupid plateau have me desperate. I am trying to be calm about losing the rest of this weight. Its working but I am ready to start losing again. The truth is that I am getting kind of anxious about staying this weight. I am not happy with the current state of my fitness either. So I am giving the 5 day pouch test a go again. I am also going to be trying some different ways of getting cardiovascularly fitter as well as stronger. Tomorrow I am doing 1hr of cardio, consisting of Couch to 5k (wk1) and the elliptical for the remainder of the hour.

THE PLANE! THE PLANE! I finally see it!

Before and Afters have been what has fueled my weightloss and kept me on task (mostly). However, I cant seem to take one of my own. I had gotten so used to taking pictures for various reasons that now when I seem my image I hardly recognize myself. I am so not complaining! What I have learned is that the last 20lbs made ALL of the difference. I look like a different person to myself! The only problem is that I feel that I look sick (not weight-wise). I am hating this winter complexion I have going on right now, I am not to pleased with my pallor. (Yes, Black people can look pale :cursing: ) Hopefully I will be able to take some decent pics soon to post on the B&A boards!
