5/1/2010-After many years of doing the yo-yo dieting thing, I am finally sick of it. I am tried of trying to be healthy, only setting myself up for failure. The emotional ups and downs are too much anymore. I had been looking into the bariatric surgery for a few years now. I recently changed insurance plans through work, so that I can be on a plan that covers it. So, hopefully I can set a date for my surgery soon. I am hoping by May! Wish me luck, I am SO excited.


3/24/13- Almost 3 years after my band was placed... It has definitely been a journey. I opted to have my band unfilled Nov 2012... ALL OF IT. I thought I was strong enough at this point to manage my portions, boy was I wrong! I have gained 15lbs back and I am so unhappy about it, I am just glad I am doing something now instead of waiting until I gained more back. I am going tomorrow morning to have it put back in. Wish me luck, again! I have also been having problems with a semi-flipped port. VERY hard to access. I think I am going to have it adjusted as I now know how important of a tool this lap band really is for me. I will update soon!!!
