  1. Hi ! I am now almost 6 weeks post op and feeling great. Once i had my first fill..things started moving quickly. i love my band and am so happy i made this decision. I know there are going to be slow months and bumps in the road...and its not magic. My question is...how much did you get for your first fill..and how much do you have presently. Is it your sweet spot. My first fill was 4.5 cc and i think its great. Restriction is awesome even tho doc says it will loosen and i will probably need more to get to my sweet spot! Thanks for any advice :blushing: :w00t: :)

  2. Hi Im 8 days post op and doing fabulously. I feel awesome and and ready to work at this and get this weight off. My Dr. does not do a fill until the 4th week post op as I have no Fluid in my band at all. I went for my week post op appt. today and he told me that I may not lose any more weight until I have a fill? I was like whhhhaatttt?? Im curious to know if this is always the case and why? And why he said this...I am staying low card high Protein and starting on mushies.

  3. Hey all!

First of all i am super excited to say i am an offical bandster!!!! I was banded OCt. 5th and feel really good. I have had a fairly easy recovery compared to some i guess. My question is...my port is obviously sore and tender as it should be.. but sometimes when i move a certain way..it feels liks something is popping or shifting in my side. It kinda freaks me out a little...so im trying to be careful. Im sure this is normal..but I would love some feedback if anyone has a clue as to what i am talking about :) Thanks

  4. Thank you all! This is so much very worth all of the pain and soreness!!!! I am only day 2 post op...but i know it will get better. I just look forward to excercising and using the band to get to a healthier new me ...that i have never known.. congrats to all who have been banded and you success so far and to those who are still on the journey to surgery!! Good luck and thanks for the comments! YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!

  5. Hi all...I am now officially on day 2 of my post op and can now have Protein Shakes and cream Soups. ( But i have no desire to eat at all) My port site has been the most painful of anything..getting up and down etc. But truthfully I feel better by the hour. I think i might even take a slow walk today and enjoy being outside. I Do have one question for you all. i love this site...I really do..but does anyone else get so tired of all the NEGATIVITY?? I mean it just gets to me. Yeah I think we all worry that we will be the one that the band wont work for...and taht we will be slow losers..etc. But thats the chance we take. I will not complain and whine about my band because I am soooo thankful to have it and to be given the chance to finally be who i want to be. Not to say that i wont have questions and some hard times. But I like to remain positive abou things. Maybe I feel good because i am younger and fairly healthy...and I did my research and prepared for the worst.. Good luck to everyone!

  6. Hey all!!! Well i am officially "A BANDSTER"!!!!! Sooo excited. Surgery went as good as could be expected today. I think i was so nervous about the anesthesia that I forgot to really think about the pain afterwards. IT is nothing unbearable...Im lucky that i dont have the shoulder pain that alot do. It isnt too bad at all because i had my husband move a recliner in my bedroom and it is where i shall sleep tonight...as i cannot lay in the bed. Getting up and down..to pee...etc...is very difficult (The port site) ...so im taking that very very slowly . Some gas soreness in under ribs...so cant breathe really deeply but its not that bad. I am so happy its over and so happy and so THANKFUL to be on the otherside of this finally. Such a trip to get this far ...and now the journey finally begins!!!! And I am ready for it!!!!!! Love all you guys!!!

  7. Well Folks....my time has finallly arrived. Beeen waiting on this for months and months. This liquid diet has been rough at times...ive went from 232 to 222 ... fell off the wagon a few times..lol. I am Terrified of the anesthesia...not at all of the pain afterwards. I hope everything goes well...I would love some words of encouragement..im geting sick to my stomach thinking about it. BUT so EXCITED AND THANKFUL YES!!!

  8. YES! im on the preop have been since last tuesday. My dr asks we do a two week diet...and lemme tell you that every second is like an hour. This next week of surgery is going to be FOREVER!!!! but i am soooo ready for it...lil nervous..but never been this excited about anything ever in my life! What a new start!

  9. Excited! Excited! Excited! I am due to be banded on OCT. 5th!!!!! Cannot wait...only about a week away. This preop diet has been very difficult ...but after a week on it...its gotten easier. Good luck to you all...and I hope we can all have a wonderful, life changing experience!

  10. Congrats on surgery tommorrow Trish!! I think we should really keep in touch. We have almost the same BMI and my surgery is Oct 5th. Due to a lower bmi it has been hard to get my insurance to approve my surgery ...but finally after all this time...it is really happening. I cannot tell you how excited i am for the future. Ive just started my liquids yesterday...its not esy but will be worth it i know. Good luck tommorow. please let me know how everything goes.

  11. I dont think that any Dr. in the US will do lapband if your bmi is below 35. Lapband.com has specific requirements for you to get the lapband. I know that lots of Dr.s in Mexico will do the band if your BMi is less than 35. Good luck to you! hope you find a dr.
