  1. Thank you all so much for sharing. I am going for a consult with a doctor with a great reputation in March. I am excited but scared about the money aspect of it. My insurance will pay nothing but I don't want to wait too much longer. I will continue to exercise no matter what, I have worked too hard to get where I am to blow it now. Thanks again.

    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

I have not been on LBT in a few months. Can't get used to the new format. Things are going slowly for me but okay. Christmas was really hard but I also got back on track. I have 8ccs and think I am about at the sweet spot for now maybe .1 or .2ccs more. I want to have plastic surgery so bad but know I need to lose about 30 more lbs and save up some $$$. I've never been too shy about surgery, $$ was always the obstacle. I hope everybody is doing well.

    How You Doing?

It has been a few weeks since anyone has checked in. How are things going for everybody? My weight loss is slow and my restriction is not as good as it was last month before my last fill. I hope my fellow March Bandsters are doing well. I look forward to hearing from you all.
  4. I didn't quite make the Christmas/New Year's Challenge, but I'm in for Spring Break. I'm going to be conservative and realistic for myself (plateauing often) and say I'm in for 10lbs! Thanks for setting this up and good luck everybody.
  5. Hey guys, I NEED to drink more water, continue to exercise regularly despite my busy schedule (it is so easy to skip a day), and eat more protein (I want to get more than the 60g I average).

    Weight loss can be embarassing

Too cute bodyfixer, mine would fall off without a belt. Congrats!! keep up the good work. This made me laugh out loud for real.
  7. Hey Joycie, I found it on this site. It was in the list of avatars. I had Garfield posters all over my room growing up and had to have it. Let me know if you don't find it, I did it back in March or April but will try to remember where on here exactly I got it. Good luck, let me know.

  8. I feel a lot like you, I supposedly have 8ccsin an 11cc band. When I went for my last fill on 12/12, the FNP said I had .5cc more than I was told I had on the previous visit with the MD. So, I either have 7.5 or 8ccs, at any rate, I have very little restriction. I hope it comes soon. Good luck!!!

    Recommittig for 2011

Count me in. My weight loss has almost stalled since Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving and Christmas have been very hard going out of town with family not exercising as much and eating more. I have to refocus in January, I have come too far to turn back now. Cheers everybody and let's do this!!!
  10. I have had 6 fills and still very little restriction. I hope and pray the next fill will be better especially since I will have to start meeting deductible over in January. Hopefully you won't have to have your port moved. Good luck.

  11. Nice to meet you. When did Dr. Avara do your surgery? Are you pleased?

    Anyone still here?

Its looks like some of the more recent posts didn't get moved over after the LBT changes to the site. I posted here a week or so ago. I hope it gets going again.

    Pickles?

I have no problems with pickles. I like them a lot as well. Something I was warned against that I don't have issues with is celery (because its fibruous). I love celery and light ranch together. I don't eat it often but I do enjoy it.
  14. After not losing weight for almost two weeks, I finally lost 2lbs. Whoo Hooo!!! I got a fill on Friday and hope that it continues.
  15. Everyone in my office has noticed and most have commented on my weight loss. Therefore, they make comments like, "she is being so good, that's all she is eating" or "no wonder she is losing weight, she only eats soup and no fried stuff." I talk about working out 5-6 days a week and journaling my meals (calories) so they seem to take it at that. I have 8 co-workers and only 3 know because the others talk way too much and tell their business and anybody else's they know. A lady in our work system, not our office, had gastric bypass and I commented about her having lost so much weight and one of those "talkative" co-workers stated, "oh, she had gastric bypass." I had no idea, but knew I would never tell her anything personal. I don't know if that lady wanted everyone to know. Most of us bring our lunch and/or go get it and bring it back to the office to eat, so we are at a table together. When I do go out to eat with co-workers, it is almost always only the ones (3) that know. I only eat out with the other 5 is for a special occasion.
  16. Bariatricadvantage.com has a lemon and raspberry I like.
  17. Thank you for posting the pics, they look great. Thank everyone for all the great advice. I actually forgot to add a breast lift and implants. Heck it sounds like I need to just do a body lift. If I had the money I would do it either in March (bandiversary) or next summer. I have met with a consultant ($30) but not the doctor ($70) yet at a minimally invasive clinic. I have an appointment scheduled during the Thanksgiving holidays with another doctor ($100), but I will probably cancel and reschedule later. I think I need to get closer to my goal before seriously considering it (30 more lbs.).

Advice needed for when to tell family....

Don't tell them until you are comfortable doing so, if that is never then sobeit. I told very few people and hope no one else finds out. I also am eating less and exercising 5-6 days weekly. That causes weight loss with and without a band as long as you burn more calories than you take in .)

    Thanksgiving Challenge?

I'm in for 5 lbs. for the turkey day challenge.
  20. Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs is awesome. The staff there is great.
  21. Ditto...it is amazing. Hipbones, veins, a little definition to arms, etc.

    How You Doing?

Soy, I hope you do get your mojo back. I have had a few plateaus and they are so hard to get through. I haven't had much real restriction since the first couple weeks after surgery. So Sandi, I haven't felt anywhere near that way in months. I have a lot more in my band than you but still not much restriction. I was so glad to hit the 50 lb. loss mark. I can't wait to lose more. It seems to be going really slowly but hopefully it will stay off forever. Good luck to you both.

Great job, keep it up. Good luck with your education as well.

    Halloween Challenge

Because I failed the last 2 challenges, I was slightly more conservative this time. Therefore, I am revamping my goal for the second time. I originally set it for 5 lbs, then 3 lbs. more, and now I am going for another 1.5 lbs. by Halloween for an even 10 lbs. since Labor Day. I am counting this one as a success finally:biggrin:.
