Kelly, I'm so sorry you are having so many issues. I hope you recover and feel better soon. I can't imagine having drains in so long. You are in my prayers. I feel bad for complaining about my upper abs with all that you are going through. I am frustrated after paying so much all out of pocket and not be satisfied. Keep us posted.

Ladies, how do your upper abs look? I'm disappointed in how my upper abs look? My lower abs/tummy looks good, but I want to look uniform. My left flank looks good, but my right flank still has a little flab left on it after liposuction. So, I have scheduled another consultation with my PS in October to discuss further procedures. I think that is a bit ridiculous too to have to do another consultation with my PS. He looked at me when I did my initial consult. Please offer me any advice you can, I will be 6 weeks post op (TT/MR/Lipo of flanks) Tuesday. I restarted exercise this past Friday. My PS said he didn't want to get around the port much. Be sure to ask your surgeon about his experience with lap bands. He said he had done some but that's not evident.

TMI question about tummy tucks...
SVM10 replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I wish I had known to ask as well. I'm 3 weeks out and mine are pretty chubby. The nurse told me I'm still pretty swollen and it will get better, but I don't think I'm that swollen. I hope it gets better but I really can't see it going down a lot. Good luck. -
JulieNYC's medial thigh lift, breast augmentation and mons lift
SVM10 replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
JulieNYC, Does your dad still do surgeries? I live about an hour from Mobile, he did great for you, do you think he would mind you sharing his office info? If you don't feel comfortable posting but are willing to email me personally, please let me know. I've enjoyed reading about your journey. -
I'm sorry you have to wait, hopefully it will fly by before you know it. I got my stitches out today. I still have a little pain at various times throughout the day but have been taking extra strength Tylenol for the last couple days as needed. Definitely have some discomfort at times especially with the compression garment. I'm going to order some Spanx so I can ditch the compression garment per nurse. This forum has helped me get through this, I hope the rest of you find it beneficial as well. Like Jerzee, I'm willing to answer any questions that anyone has about the procedure and recovery up to now (one week and a half out).

Hey Jeerzee, How are you doing today? I am feeling better as well. It is going slow, but progressing nonetheless. I go back to see doctor tomorrow and see if the stitches will come out. The nurse took drains out yesterday. Keep us updated. Hang in there.

I will do that, Thanks again.

thank you so much, they are providing the compression garments. I was told to wear something like a jogging suit. I am going to my parents for at least a week maybe longer depending on how i feel so I won't have to do much other than keeping up with my online students via laptop for that period of time. I am getting lipo for my flanks and TT only this time. My parents are totally against it but thank goodness they love me enough to take care of me while I recover. Thanks again Jerzee. If you can think of anything please don't hesitate to share it with me.

I have a couple questions, my surgery is in the morning. What did you wear? Did you utilize a pain pump? I plan to. How long did your drains stay in? I'm really nervous and excited. I've the pain is excruciating but worth it. Please tell me anything you think I need to know. Thanks!!!

Thank you so much. I am paying out of pocket for my surgery and I have worked hard. I need all the support I can get. We can all be here for each other. This means a lot to me.

Hello Ladies, Thanks so much for this thread, I am getting a little nervous. I am having my TT in June 28th and no one in my family is supportive of it. I know how I want to look and I have lost 70lbs. and would like to lose 10 more pounds. I know it will be painful and mine will be outpatient as well. Please hope and pray that all goes well as i will for you too.

I'm plateauing like crazy. It was that time of the month last week and I got a fill last Monday. This is the first time that I have not lost more than a pound a week after a fill. Here's to hoping the fill will kick in soon.:embaressed_smile:

Disappointing, but no loss this week. I got a fill on Monday but it hasn't kicked in yet.
-
Only down .5lb, going for doctor's visit on Monday. I'm not sure if I will get a fill or not, we'll see. Let's keep our hopes up and weight down .
-
Raven, I pray that your health gets better. Your weight loss is great, especially in the midst of everything you have had to deal with. Hang in there, better days are still to come.
-
Down 1.5, that's a start. I hope it keeps getting better. These plateaus are no fun.
-
No loss, I had Spring Break and went out of town last week and did not exercise much and ate more. Now that I'm back in my element, I will have a loss next week.

Hello Fellow March Bandsters, I have to admit that I don't get on LBT nearly as much due to the new site layout. However, I do miss the comradery. It is so hard to believe it has been a year. It has been full of ups and downs for me, but the ups outweigh the downs, Thank God. I have lost 70lbs and originally wanted to lose 77lbs. I would still be obese and would like to lose about 20 more lbs. I also hope to have a tummy tuck in late summer. It seems so weird, I have never been this size in my adult life. It is taking some getting use to, but I love it. I wish I could have done it 10 years ago. If my insurance company had not decided to do this trial of 100 WLS for 3 years I still would not have been able to afford to do it. I also feel that I need to do well so that if those of us in the trial do well, it will be opened up for state employees in MS.

This is ridiculous and I'm pissed.
SVM10 replied to Lizzy Fu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree you are not getting enough calories. You need a minimum of 1000 calories, but everybody is different. I now know that 1200-1350 calories is best for me. My nutritionist and doctor told me that I would also need 60g of protein from now on. I try to take B-12 and multivitamin daily. Sometimes I run out and have a lapse but never for an extended period of time. Good luck and try more protein and calories after consulting with your physician. -
WTH, I'll give it a try. My bandiversary is Tuesday, down 70lbs! I'm good with that, but I'm hoping for about 20-25lbs more. This could only help.

Hello fellow bandsters, I am contemplating plastic surgery. I want to eventually get a TT, arms, and maybe liposuction (when I hit the lottery OR do a little at a time). The only reservations I have about it is elasticity of the skin past 40. Anyone over 40 that has had any PS past 40 PLEASE respond. If I get it done, I want it to look good and last for a long while. I have lost 50 and want to lose 30 more and 8 months in. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!
