Self-payers, how long did the process take

What are the soft diet folks having for Thanksgiving???? I'll be one too!
  2. Ha! Funny girl. The discussion has taken yet another sick turn since you last posted, eh, Carol. Keep singing! There are better things to do in life than discuss close relatives and animals marrying each other. Take the high road! We all clearly have too much time on our hands when we should be exercising.
  3. Hey..What if you are in arrears for child support to the child you then marry. Do you still owe child support? Hmmm. Guess not, since you are then your spouse's custodial parent.
  4. I don't agree with close relative marrying----too emotionally confusing and too many birth defects, so we'll have to have a discussion about it in our new democracy. OK. Gays yes. Minors and animals no. Polygamy-needs discussion, and apparently so does marrying a close relative. I'm assuming marrying a dead adult is a No-there's that sticky issue of "consenting", unless a psychic is present. Advocating gay marriage doesn't mean that a person is advocating all this other stuff, or that it opens the door to any of it. It can still be discussed if it becomes a burning issue, and decided. I doubt that marrying animals will become a hot topic. I think the argument about animals and the like is a way to be inflammatory in order to get rid of the issue.
  5. BuSh and McDonald's both. :-D
  6. Thanks. A week from today, I should be just getting home from the surgery, and whining at my husband.
  7. That's good to know....
  8. Er, let's see. Yes to gay adult humans. No to animals and minors. Debatable for poygamy (although I enjoyed that commune in the 60s). So...How hard was that?
  9. Woo Hoo! You can see our pups on our old website from before we retired breeding Goldens. www.shrRoyals.com Glad you're recovering well. Dogs keep us healthy! Funny. The last few days I went from eating and saying goodbye to everything I could fine, but then that seems to have stopped and I'm chewing more, taking fewer bites, kind of winding down to a more soup-laden diet. Just kind of rehearsing. Getting some peace. Ready for surgery a week from today.
  10. It is because of the unspeakable acts of Hilter that we are able to recognize the trend early here. By remembering the Holocaust, we may be able to make a difference in the USA.
  11. I went to a group intro meeting at my Dr's office. A half dozen people who had the band were there so we could ask questions. 5 were successful and 1 had not been, and was going to go fir the gastric bypass. She said that she has a large Italian family-4 kids, husband,. and extended family nearby, and that she is the cook for all. She said she never changed her ways...cooking all day, sampling as she went along, same recipes, and that she didn't lose weight. The 5 other people said that they had varying degrees of difficulty but all said that they were surprised that it was so possible to manage intake. They said it was like a skinny nonfood addicted gal deciding to go on a diet..... All ended up with different preferences in food than they had had before they were banded, and all ate differently but ended up consuming between 800 and 1000 calories a day, and some had been banded for years. My guess is that the group was pretty representative of what we can expect.
  12. Pearls before swine sounds sooo condescending. I prefer Don't try to teach a pig to sing. It won't work, and it annoys the pig. :-)

Nearest beach to main airports. Need help please

That's what I want to hear. I was in Fla twice, once at Rollins College and then at Univ. of Fla. Up to Kent State for Grad school and then also to Houston, where we seem to be settled in for life, for better or worse. Silverthread, I haven't been in Florida for ages, but here's my recollect. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Orlando/Disney is right in the middle, so you can stay AT Disney and enjoy it, and then move on either east or west about an hour or two (?) to get to the beach. If you head east, you can stay in Orlando if you like party beach life, or wander north along the coast to St Augustine if you like history and quaint. Instead, if you head west...hmmm...I think you end up in Tampa which didn't used to be as intersting, unless you like to watch tarantulas walk off the banana boats (Sorry, Tampa). But there are quieter pretty Gulf Coast beaches south of there...Ft. Myers, Sanibel Island... What do you like? Fancy hotels with spas? Cheap hotels ---just a place to leave your stuff? Teenage party beaches or old folks walking around collecting shells? What do you have in mind?

Where were you Hoosierhater? I was in Winter Park for awhile....
  15. Carlene- I really appreciate the offer. I'm not ready at the moment. I'm enjoying the wonderful speaking, without any dogma. I think I'll keep it clear for now. He is an amazing priest....... But thanks. Betsy
  16. I'm not Catholic, but I go to Mass alot. The priest has an incredible brain and passion, and I love to hear him. I just sneak into the back row and pretend to know when to sit, stand and kneel, and what the responses are.
  17. Bless your heart, Eric's Mom! That's what I like to hear! Attagirl.
  18. I heard about it. If we are not in the streets screaming for heads after it airs, we're getting what we deserve. I wonder what happens if it turns out that Gore won the last one. Does he get do be prez next? :-)

  20. Yep. Next to Kingwood, in Huffman. At www.GoldenRetrieverCamp.com
  21. Christian Dominionists, all of them.
  22. Yeah, I don't think anybody can take anything for granted...on either side...in this election.
  23. Ha! You got me, Green! I was waiting for an amazing history lesson from a former Soviet republic. Ever since I was a little kid, I've been going to Canada off and on. I love to turn on talk radio there and listen to the differences in how issues are seen between the US and Canada. Great fun. I remember back when Hilary was promoting a major overhaul of medical care and insurance practices here, and the outrage in Cananda was over the proposal that there should be a copayment. Anyway you guys better watch out. You're getting awfully flashy with all your new oil reserves and diamonds. Us bullies might come up and try to take over...for your own good of course. You know how we are.....
  24. Yeah. Dontcha think we have bigger fish to fry that sweating over whether people who love each other should get hitched????
