Snacks or No Snacks?

I also occasionally do a liquids only day. My hope is that it shrinks the pouch a bit, but it may just be magical thinking on my part.... Anyway, it feels right.... -
Snacks or No Snacks?
Betsyjane replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think the ideal is to eat and reatin fullness until the next meal. For me, though, there is good snacking and there is bad snacking. Good snacking is a bite or two of meat to make me feel full again until meal time. Bad snacking is eating the wrong thing or grazing, both of which I unfortunately do very well. I do better when I don't snack at all, but some days, I just need something challenging to eat that will lead to more fullness. -

Need any help with anything Wednesday? In the back of our Tai Chi notebook is a list of the positions of First Part which will be our first test. I dug up an old Tai Chi book here and it has pictures of each position with exact body placement. If anybody wants a copy at some point before July, let me know. -

I hereby commit to doing exercise This Sunday through Saturday, all but one day. I hereby commit to no snacking from 2-5 PM (my hardest time) for the same time period. I will write down those 2 things each day as I accomplish them, and will report back next weekend. -

Yeah, but exercise with Lupus also gives me a high fever and puts me in bed for awhile. Happens every time. I'm a great packer. I always go with some wrinkle proof separates that all go together, usually in navy and cream, rolled up so they don't take up much room, and then whatever special event outfit.... -

Suzanne-it's called off, but you certainly would have been welcome. How is it that we get so busy that health comes last? Guess that's part of how we got into this pickle..... -

I was thinking the same thing. I get tired so easily with Lupus. I've been trying to sort out priorities. I know exercise is one priority, and right now I'm liking Tai Chi...but I'm wondering if I might be better off doing the rest of my exercise at home so I can fit it in in a moment's notice. Not sure if that's the rational me talking or the part of me that wants to blow off exercise. Thinking I might keep my gym membership but see if I can do it at home..... But call me even at the last minute if you ever feel like taking a walk..... -

Barbara-I haven't heard from Lana. Maybe it's not a good time with her building schedule. Let's go ahead and cancel Tai Chi tomorrow morning. Maybe there will be a better time later..... -

About the rule or the time? I get the rule....I know I'm still not doing it completely correctly and they don't want us to teach bad habits or misrepresent the sport. About the time. Sure. If it's raining, though, let's postpone it. i think doing it standing by the lake would be the right mood.... Wear old shoes..... -

What could it hurt! If we fail, we've lost all but 40 pounds! If we succeed, to whatever extent, we've lost more! -

I'm with you! I also have 40 pounds to lose and I'm in a plateau. I'll kick some butt with you! I'm going to push exercise and be better about my food. We'll get there! Hey beachgirl. don't be discouraged by "averages". There's always someone who beats the average. Let it be us! -
24 hours post-op, a little more sore than expected

Welcome to your journey. Yeah, walking, a heating pad, and Tylenol were my best friends for the first few days. Did you get some Better Than Boullion? That stuff tasted so good and hearty to me during the liquid stage. Congrats on getting started! -

Well, it's not like we've gotten very far... Barbara and I are equally capable at the er, 6 or so moves we've learned. Did they ever straighten out your bathroom plumbing? Barbara-can you come help me catch up this laggard? I think part of my frustration is that my stomach doesn't seem to be decreasing, and as other things do, it looks even bigger to me. -
I thought the same things you do! One of them is really tightly restricted and likes it that way. One is barely restricted and likes that. It's really variable. These are all people who were banded 5-7 years ago in the experimental phase. I dunno. Maybe after that much time you just lose your interest in food..... I don't get it.
