  1. I am day 3 post op and I already cheated!! I had to get that off my chest! My doc has me on clear liquids and jello for 1 day pre op and a week post. I was so hungry yesterday that I had 2 tablespoons of hummus. I mean, that's not going to kill me, right? Today I am not very hungry but the fact that on day 3 I cheated has me nervous. I know I have serious food issues and I am seeing a psychiatrist but is this a sign of things to come? I want to eat healthy and i enjoy working out. I think once I get through the liquid phase I'll be fine. Any thoughts? Am I doomed?

Hello folks! Banded April 2nd! Sooo happy the surgery is out of the way and I can now begin my journey to the new me. Incisions still sore and not too hungry today. Yesterday I was starving. My doc has me only on clear liquids and jello for a week. I did have a tablespoon of hummus last night though. I was craving it. oops! It's tough not eating solid foods! Is anyone else having a hard time with just liquids?
  3. I'm in NJ and I paid $13,500. $5000 to my dr and $8500 to the surgery center. I believe the first 2 fills are included in the 5 grand and every fill after that is $120. My dr is excellent. He does not advertise...goes by word of mouth only. If you'd like more info feel free to PM me. ps Where in NJ are you? Or how far are you willing to travel?
  4. I wish I saw this thread sooner! I went out last week and bought a brand new blender from Costco for $50. Should I get the bullet too? Or will my blender do the trick?
  5. Hi Guys! I was banded April 2nd. Feeling pretty good so far today but incisions are still sore. I am having a little trouble breathing too...its strange, i have a weird heaviness on my chest. But I'm sure its cause I'm sore all over. Todays going to be a challenge going to family to celebrate Easter and all I will be eating is chicken broth. Ugh! Well have a good day all!
  6. I don't know much about surgery in Mexico but that sounds a little scary to me. I picture you going to there to get a lapband and leaving without a kidney! Sorry to make a joke but I guess I've seen too many movies. What can you afford? I paid for my band since my insurance wouldn't cover it. My BMI was 37 but I only had 1 co-morbity. I needed 2 for them to cover. My Dr is in NJ and is excellent. He does not advertise...only goes by word of mouth. I paid him $5000 and the surgery center $8500. My first 2 fills are included in the 5 grand. Then I think he charges $100 for each visit after that.
  7. I forgot to mention they told me I could have Isopure protein drinks from GNC. They're liquid and have 40g of protein. The blue rasberry tastes like smelly feet! I am having no luck :bored:
  8. I wonder if anyone still reads this thread...I see the last post was in December. I could really use some help. I'm having some very similar issues as the post above me and I'm only 2 days post-op. My nutritionist (who I only saw for about 5 minutes) says for the first week only jello and broth. I've been doing this for 3 days now and I'm starving. It's also 3:30am and I still haven't slept yet. Would it really hurt if I had a scrambled egg for breakfast? I don't know how I will survive on chicken broth and lime jello for another day let alone a whole week! She never mentioned protein shakes and specifically said no milk till week 2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Gina
  9. Hi Guys! So glad I found this place. I had my surgery this morning and I'm home feeling great besides the fact that i'm starving!!! I thought for sure I'd be in pain and not wanting food at all but thats not the case. I assume everyone is on a liquid diet the first week? What have you eaten besides jello and broth?? Is there anything else I can have besides decaf tea, coffee etc?
  10. Hi, I am new to the site. Could you explain what you mean by prolapsing? As the others said, you lost 77 lbs! That's amazing. Try to stay positive and good luck on your journey.
