Oh...... poo! I got on the scales this morning. NOT a good thing. I'm not telling how much, but I have GAINED! I have worked harder the last two weeks than I have in the last two months. I have shoveled more dirt, moved rocks, pulled weeds, played baseball, rode bikes, chased the child and generally worked my tail off from daylight til dark and look what it got me. I'm hoping this is muscle mass. I know I didn't have much restriction for a few days and I tried to eat the house down, but I have enough restriction now to tell me when I need to stop and it's working pretty good, so it's got to be muscle mass. Can yall tell I'm trying really hard to talk myself into this? lol Teresa, glad to hear you are getting the hang of all this. Sugarbear.... so it was a hernia, huh? Well, get it fixed soon as you can. Susan, I know you are there. I see you at the bottom of the page. How's it going for you? Yall have a good day, I'm off to shovel dirt again. I will be glad when that pile of dirt is gone. We have made a pretty good dent in it, so it won't be long. Gotta get is spread before it starts raining again this weekend. Stay in the box, and drink your water. Catch yall later! lisa

Oh, how sad. I'll put them on my prayer list. lisa
-
Good Luck Tx Hogwild. You'll do fine, just remember to walk. It's important. Let us know how you are, k? Have a good day everyone! Hope yall didn't float away last nite! lisa
-
Oh, one more thing! I finally have decent restriction this morning. I got my fill last monday, so I reckon it's time. I think this one will work for a while too. It's the first one I have had in six months. Yea for my Band! ljg

Hi Sandra. Glad to have you on board. Good luck with the surgery, Thursday. I felt fine after my surgery. Went shopping, before going home. lol I sure got some strange looks, but I went. lol After the first few days, you will begin to feel a little "blown up". It's very important to walk and keep moving as much as possible. It will keep the gas they use during surgery moving out. Some use a heating pad, some a warm bath, but I think all of will agree, walking probably helps the most. You will be a little sore, but not extremely so. The incision site where the port is placed and that area will be tender for a few weeks, but the others won't be so bad. They are very small sites. You just keep us in mind if you have questions, we will be glad to answer, k? Well, I got my exercise yesterday. Had two loads of dirt delivered to the house site. My hands are kinda achey this morning. They don't fit a shovel handle very well. lol But, I just kept thinking, this is soooo good for my abs, this is so good for that big ole bee-hind! This is really fun and Tanner is having a blast and before you knew it, I was so tired I couldn't move! lol Yall take care today. It's supposed to be bad and stormy. Maybe, it will scare that chocolate bunny away! lol Stay in your box! Oh, and Plain glad to see you post too! I try not to scold very often, but I like to keep up with everyone. Hope you are doing ok! See yall! lisa

I wonder why? I guess they don't love us anymore.....:mad2: I really needed to talk to one of them tonite, too. Guess I'll have to call. Way to go Shannon!!!!!!! Have that sale and get rid of all those old clothes! Remember, that chocolate bunny is still lurking..... And he has laid chocolate eggs. OH NO!!! It's worse than Thanksgiving and Christmas! Yall be very, very qwite, I'm hunting wrabbits! Stay in the box today. I'm trying, but my band is not co-operating since last monday. Have a good day, everyone! lisa

Hey Susan! Glad to see you post too! Yes the meeting is Monday nite. I hope I can make it. I'm gonna try. Since I quit my day job, (lol) I'm back in my routine of going to Wally World, so I'll probably see you now. I promise I'm not so skinny that you won't know me. Still have that big ole lard butt. It's not hard to miss. Man, look at your ticker. It's moving pretty well now. Way to go! Teresa....... girl. Start keeping a food diary. You may be stuck cause you aren't getting enough calories and your body is in starvation mode. You have to manage to get at least 800 per day. NO LESS! 1,000 to 1,200 is the best range for me. And try not to eat the same thing everyday, so you can trick your body into thinkin different. Different caloric intake. You know, you're a nurse and I didn't have to say that, but it was just a reminder. We all need reminding sometimes. Glo..... I'm with you on the bikini thing. That is just gross to think about ME in a bikini. I think I have been having that same talk with God. lol I gotta get moving again. With summer coming on, maybe it will be easier. lol Hey everyone else!!!! How are yall? Sugarbear, lo2us, Hogwild, plain and ALL the people that don't post anymore. Where are you and how are you? Yall have a good day. Remember, stay away from that chocolate bunny! He's bad news! Hide in your box! lol lisa
-
Well, Glo. You need to post more often. I miss you. And how am I supposed to keep up with "our support group groupie"? I got the biggest kick out of him the other nite. lol He was just too funny. Saw Lou at the dr.s office. She and her daughter. We had a support group meeting in the office waiting room. There were several people there asking questions and we just had ourselves a "seminar of sorts". lol. I think I might just be rushing my fill some. It usually take about two weeks for restriction to hit. I just had lunch and I'm feeling tight now. Strange, huh? Oh well, I hope it works. I need to lose some more weight. Spring is here and baseball season is upon us. Gotta shed some more. I got Leslie Sansone's "Walk at home" dvd a couple of weeks ago. Since I don't have a job now, I can start using it more. There was a set of bands in there that are really cool. Made my arms sore the first couple of times I used them. Plus, I have other things going on that will help tone and get some of my flab in shape. I think it's about time to get started, so, talk to everyone later! lisa

Yall, I think I have a problem. After gettin that fill monday, I don't have any restriction to speak of. I don't know how much he put in, but I had more restriction BEFORE the fill. This is scary. I don't hurt, I'm not sick at my stomach, I don't cough at nite, and I don't think it's a slip, but it's just weird. He told me if I thought I might be too tight to come back and have some taken out before my next appointment (which is in two months), but I haven't been able to tell that there has been a fill at all. Guess I'll still have to wait and see what happens next week. It usually takes two weeks for my fills to kick in anyway. Guess I'm just jumping the gun. Teresa, I try to take it easy after a PB. Liquids the rest of the day and then mushies the next. It just makes me sore and I don't really feel like eating anything for a while. But when I PB, it's a bad one. I haven't done it a lot, but when I do, it's "Katy bar the door" gross. Yall have a good day. I get to hunt eggs in a bit and EASTER Party! Stay in that box and away from that chocolate bunny! lisa
-
Hi yall! I had a fill Monday morning. I don't feel any different. But, today is my first day back on regular food, so I guess we will see. Sounds like everyone is doin ok. Just wanted to check in on everyone. I gotta get outside and get started today. Gonna be great! Yall have a good one! lisa OH!! STAY IN THE BOX! :huh2:
-
you can do it. Just hang in there and remember that you are doing it for a great reason. Drink lots of water, that will help. We are here for you! lisa
-
Hang in there Susan. I'm thinking on asking for a small fill this time. Haven't really decided yet. Right! Shannon...... no where but up! So start climbing. I know you can do it! Yall have a good day! lisa
-
Ok Shannon. Today is another day. Just jump right back in that box and start over. Believe me, my box has busted a time or two. Get out the duct tape and tape it back up. Mine has so much tape on it, it's not funny. Yall have a good day. Stay in the box! lisa
-
I've been taking biotin forever. I know it's helped cause my nails are strong enough to be used for screwdrivers and scrapers again. lol I'm tough on my nails. lol Yall do it too. lol I hope the protein kicks in soon. I get to go see Dr. H on monday the 10th. I think I will ask for a small fill. I haven't had one since SEPTEMBER! Yall have a good day and be careful making snow angels. lol You thought I was gonna say Stay in the box. Well, do stay in the box. :rolleyes2: lisa
-
OH yeah, I forgot..... My BMI says that I'M "overweight" NO LONGER OBESE!!!!! lisa
-
Congrats, Plain. I never "lost" my appetite. Just misplaced it a couple of days. Yours will return. Just a matter of time. How's everyone else? Now, I tried the Body fortress protein powder. Vanilla. It's not bad. I think I will stick to that for a while. My hair is coming out by the handfulls, so that is a real good indicator that my protein intake is NOT sufficent. I kinda squeak when I walk when it comes to spending money for some things and I have been squeaking about the protein things. I just can't turn lose of that kind of money for that stuff. But I bit the bullet Thursday and bought the protein powder that I mentioned above. I'm only drinking one serving per day. I'm afraid of gaining weight with it. Sorry for not posting in a while. I got this mail from lapbandtalk saying that I needed to post. Yall ever get that when you don't post for a while? Talk to yall later. I have been so busy lately, that I haven't had time to check my e-mail, much less post, so yall don't think I've quit on ya. I know you haven't heard it in a while so...... STAY IN THE BOX!!!! lisa
-
Well..... it looked like a test tube to me, but others kept on messin with me, and got me all embarrassed. Jamie started it. lol The stuff in mine was green. I think Lou's had a bluish tint to it. When I tried it the next mornin, it tasted ok. lisa
-
Hey Everyone! How's everyone this morning? We had a hum-dinger of a meeting last nite. That's the only way I know how to discribe it. lol Very good. Glo, just so you know..... the stuff in the "test tube" was not bad at all. Of course, it wasn't fantastic, but it was tolerable. Mine was cool melon splash. It doesn't have a really bad aftertaste. That's important to me. I'm not good with yucky aftertastes. Now, I don't know what to do with the "virtually unbreakable" tube. I said I was gonna put in on my desk, but I work in a place that is mostly men. You do realize what kinda comments that would bring up. lol Oh brother! To clue everyone on things, last night Jamie was our meeting "leader". She brought the Profect protein beverage tubes and we had a drawing for "door prizes". Well, guess who won one of those door prizes? I don't ever win anything, but last night I was one of the lucky ones, if you wanna call it that. Jamie started it! lol Anyway, lets just say that we had a little fun out of it. I don't know if the men will show up at the next meeting. lol Glo's might. I saw him giggling a time or two. Better go. Yall have a good day and ............................ do I have to say it? STAY IN THE BOX! lisa
-
Morning yall! Sounds like a very productive meeting. Julie, unloading horse feed is a work out in itself. lol I know bout that too. You do realize that even though you might not be losing pounds, you might be losing inches (then the pounds catch up) Yall, I hate to say this. (you know I do, lol) I am going to have to go get even smaller jeans. The smaller ones that I bought in the last week or two.... I pulled them off last night WITHOUT unbuttoning or unzipping. Just slipped them off. I think maybe they are sized wrong. lol Yall know I'm being funny, right? Hey plain. Congratulations. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck with the pre-op diet. Hang in there, it gets better when you can have the salad. We will be here if you need someone to cheer you on. Oh, Teresa. I did get out and walk this weekend. Forgot to tell yall. I haven't had the energy to do much lately. Got some liquid vitamins (that taste yucky, by the way) that have seemed to help. Yall have a good day and if you have lost that box or yours, find it and get back in. You too, Susan. lol  lisa
-
Yeah, yall! I have got to start doing more exercise. I have a real problem in that area. It's called "lead butt". lol Man, I have got to find time to get some type of exercise in. I wanna see some pounds come off. Yall have a great day! You too Susan! STAY IN THE BOX, YALL! lisa
-
One more thing, Dawn. The water you are drinking will help flush out the impurities in your system. The more you drink, the faster you will lose. I know you can do this....Once you get used to eating properly, it will be a cinch! You won't think a thing about it. It will just come naturally. I don't even count calories anymore. I just count protein grams. I promise it will get easier. lisa
-
Dawn, Please remember..... you are 11 days post op. You have a band, yes, but there is nothing in it. The reason you have not been hungry before is because you have had swelling where the band is placed. The swelling has gone down and now you have hungry feeling all the time. This is the most difficult time right now. When you start getting fills, it will get better each time. But the most important thing right now, do not test your little friend. It has not "scared" into place. Yes, it is sutured in, but it will take time for it to heal. Be sure to eat 3 meals a day. Don't skip any meals. If you skip a meal, the next one you eat WILL BE stored as fat. Drink your water. Carry it with you. Set it on your desk or somewhere you will be able to see it during the day. It will remind you to drink. You can get past this. All of us here have been in your situation and we know how it is. Just keep a positive attitude and you will be ok. Believe me, I know how you feel. I had a lot of trouble at your stage being hungry all the time. This is the time where your will power MUST kick in. You have to be determined. I know you can do it. After all, you were wise enough to get a band. You knew that you had to do something. Now, you have the tool to help you. Don't leave it in the tool box. lol Hang in there. lisa

Teresa, I have size 4 in my closet. Yes, I said 4. I'm not even close yet, but some day...... I would like to be in a 6. lol That would put me at goal. I told someone that the size I'm in now is confidential information and will not be disclosed at this time, but rest assured when I get to single digits, EVERYONE will know. lol Yall have a good nite and stay in that box! lisa
-
Oh yeah, I WISH a 8 or 10. But I'm gettin there! ljg

Well sounds like you are a very busy woman. And since I'm not a master gardner, dirt is the word I use. lol (I wish I could stick my tongue out at you) lisa
