My appointments have been stretched to 8 weeks now. I read somewhere in the stuff they give out that appointments are stretched so every 3 months after the first year. I coulda dreamed it. Shannon, glad Gus was able to sleep better last night. Maybe the meds are doing their thing and he will get better soon. lisa

Oh, and I have something to say......... There was a woman called me the other night and ask me about going to a support group meeting in Mt. Pleasant. She is ready to get her band and needs information. She has already gotten all her stuff ready and is ready to file on her insurance....... GUESS WHAT I HAD TO TELL HER?????????

Our rain gauge said 4" this morning. The bus Tanner would be riding, (if he were riding) drowned out down the road from us. We were kinda trapped for a while. Randy said the spot where the bus drowned out was VERY deep. He went across about 5 this morning. Up the road from our house, the water was over the road in three places. It's about 1 1/2 miles to the FM road to town. Tanner had an appointment with his optometrist this morning at 8:30, so we were playing in the water. I sometimes wish I had a 4 wheel drive truck when it does this stuff. Sure would feel much safer in it rather than that little Malibu I have. lol Oh, and my dirt pile..... not a pretty site this morning. lol It's spread out in places I didn't want it to be. I guess that's were it needs to be anyway. Water runs to the low spots anyway. My box floated down river. If yall find it in Texarkana, please send it back. I need it in the worse way. It was getting holes in it but it did help some. I think I'm gonna ask for a slight unfill when I go back. I'm not losing. Before I went back to this last time I had lost pretty well. Of course I always gain some before I go back. (I wonder why that is?) THAT 6 POUNDS IS NOT GOING AWAY. I WANT A NEW BOX! Never mind about sending the old one back. Sugar B...... three??? What are you doing? Are you cutting the old ones out of your signature? Sooner or later, you won't be able to get another ticker in your signature. It will only allow so many lines, unless they have changed it. Oh well, we can keep up with your progress that way. Go, sugarb! Shannon, how's Gus? Yall take care and try not to float away in your boxes today. Lisa

You can do it Glo! Don't worry bout tooting your own horn. That is what this is all about. The down side and the up side. Hills and valleys. You know bout those. I think I'm half way up the mountain. lol lisa
-
The recipes look pretty good too, now that I've looked at them. lisa

Shannon, sorry you are so stressed. I know what that means. I'm dealing with that myself. lol Hope Gus gets to feeling better soon. That's hard on a little guy to be sick and it so warm outside. Glo.... I guess the diet is ok. It sounds like a sensable diet to me. Really, it's kinda just getting back to the basics. And I think it's mostly for bypass patients, but it might work fine for us too. I might just try it myself. Of course the liquid phase is not gonna fun. ljg

Glo, is that site livingafterwls.com?

Glo, you won't do..... Stay out of that kitchen. The pre-op diet on day 3 and 4 is the salad thingy. I think it stays that way up until the surgery, so you are ok. I did the salad thing up until the day before I had surgery. Then on that day I just did slim fast. Thought I was gonna starve without that small garden salad. lol I love being outside. Much rather be out there than cooped up inside. Susan, I don't mind a little dirt. I'll hold your hand. Yall forget I used to work for a veterinarian. I'm used to dirt, slobber and yucky stuff. lol I'm with you on the whinnin thing on the MP thread. I don't think everyone here wants to hear us whinning. Maybe we should start having our own pep rally! I tried to get someone at PS to say they would send our stuff by e-mail, but no one has responded yet. ( just did it this morning) Maybe notes from the Texarkana meeting. At least we could have something from the office. I guess we could do our own research. Who knows. Yall stay busy. I'm going to go outside. TTFN! lisa

Glo, you are supposed to wait 1 hour after eating before you drink. You know why. Sometimes, I wait less. It just depends on what I have been/or doing during the day. I try to wait at least 45 minutes if I'm really thirsty. It's hard sometimes, but I do. Just get up and get started doing something else and time will fly by before you know it. Julie, I don't know what the pouch test is either, maybe some smart person will let us in on it soon. lol lisa

Playing in the sun is fine. Better than staying the house with FOOD! Get out there and have some fun, Glo! And the good thing about it is..... you can stay in the box even when you are outside! lol lisa

Thanks, Susan! ljg

I can't make meetings on second Mondays. I have commitee meetings at church that nite. This is not good. Yes Susan, I enjoyed being outside all weekend! Spring is here and I love it! I hope Maggie doesn't get into the "unplanting" mode too. That sure would be a bad thing after working so hard to get it in the ground. That whole Master gardner thing sounds like fun. Like I said before, I'm really bummed out over this no support group meeting thing. I feel like I've been abandoned. Nevermind.... I won't be negative today. Yall have a good day, stay in the box, and drink your water. lisa
-
Oh... and SugarB, you would NOT have a problem knowing who I was. Still not skinny.(according to my short body) I'm kinda bummed out over the support group thing. I know there are people that have bands that need support. I just kinda like to go and see how everyone is progressing and visatate with everyone. (VIS-A-TATE is a east texas word. lol means to visit with people.) :tt1: Gotta go. I'm wasting my morning! lisa
-
I hope so, dh and the little boy are in a fishing tournament this morning. Little boy has ball practice this afternoon. I hope it's not gonna be windy. As for the hamburger..... I haven't had a real, true to life hamburger since I got my band. A Randy's Burger sure sounds good!!!! mmmmmm Yall have a good day! ljg

I'm with Glo. Gas prices are a big thing for me too. Maybe, we can find a solution to this soon. I guess I can understand why....it is a long way from Texarkana for a 1 hour session with 5 people. Maybe, we can find a leader and have Mrs. Betty or Jamie e-mail the "stuff" to them. Or maybe just e-mail the stuff directly to us..... just a thought. I haven't missed very many, but when I did, I REALLY missed them. Know what I mean? lol Dr. Hekier, you are right..... there's much "worse" hobbies to have. lol Some of which, you can't do when it's raining!!! Man, I'm tired of rain. I thought I was going to go crazy yesterday. I had to stay in the house all day. I wanted to graze all day. And I did on some stuff that was fairly healthy. But I hate that. Cravings..... I have them too. Sometimes, I just want a hamburger. That seems to be my craving. Can't eat the bread, the lettuce and stuff sometimes sticks, and I can't possibly eat a whole hamburger patty, so I don't know why I crave them other than the protein thing. Chocolate is a big thing for me too. It will go down too easy, way too easy. It's one of my monsters. Have yall tried strawberries? Fresh strawberries. I can't do them either. I don't think we are supposed to be eating them anyway. (seeds) Well, I have rambled enough.... Yal stay in the box. Drink your water. (I'm having a problem with that water thing) Have a good day! lisa

I sent an e-mail to Jamie yesterday, she forwarded it to Mrs. Betty. I guess we will see. Glo, send me a private message from this site and I will send you Mrs. Betty's mail address. My box is floating today! lol I haven't checked the rain gauge, but I know we got a flood. Talk to yall later! Stay dry! lisa
-
Let's send Mrs. Betty an e-mail and ask WHY??? Jamie and her sister were supposed to be taking over our group. The last meeting we had (January) they told us that. Guess we could have one without them somewhere. Thanks Lynn for the advice. I talked to Angie at PS and I think I will try it a couple more days and see. I haven't gotten sick since Sunday. I have eaten better food this week than last week. Last week was TOM and that has a lot to do with my tightness. We'll see how it goes this weekend and if I still can't eat right then I promise to go see the docs! Yall have a good day. Be safe and stay in the BOX! lisa

You probably have the new and improved band, Arkie. I think it has something to do with tiny ridges along the inside of the band to help grip and prevent slippage. And I read something somewhere that they already have a small amount of saline in them. THAT POSSIBLY COULD BE WRONG, SO DON'T QUOTE, K? Discuss it with the Docs, they can tell you for sure. I have seen the old style and even then I saw it once before I had mine placed. You know how they have to improve on everything. Cars, phones, klennex. Everything is new and improved. lol lisa

How's everyone this morning? Did yall have trouble getting on our thread yesterday afternoon? I couldn't. Could get on all the others fine, ours was just not accessible. Well, I'm still tight this morning. I think I'm just getting to big of a bite now. I had a baked potato last night and it went down ok. I had a "breadless" ham and cheese sandwich yesterday at lunch and it went down fine. I just think I might in to much of a hurry. YALL KNOW HOW IT IS TO BE IN A HURRY! Talk to everyone later! Have a good day! I'm not preaching this morning, but yall know what to do.............. :tt2: lisa
-
I will. I sent Mrs. Betty a e-mail yesterday. Things are a little better this morning. I don't know if it's just stress or if I really am too tight. We have a lot going on in our lives lately and I have been stressed to the gills. I know, don't stress. But it seems like I have to hurry up and wait a lot lately. Know what I mean? With the house, baseball practice and all that other stuff, man, I just can't get finished. I know I'm not talking about anything yall dont do either. I guess I'm just over stressing. I keep telling myself that I'm too blessed to be stressed, but my body don't cooperate sometimes. I hope everyone made it thru the night ok. Did yall have storms? We just got a couple of little down pours that lasted just a couple of minutes and that was it. Yall take care today, stay in the box and drink your water! lisa
-
Susan, absolutely! Have you ever gotten your down coat wet? Them suckers weigh a TON! lol Are you wet, by chance? lol Yall..... You are not going to believe this, but I think I'm too tight now. This ain't funny either. I got sick twice this weekend. I'm not so tight that I can't hold anything down, but I can't eat a much of the foods we are "supposed" to be eating. Ain't it funny..... the foods we aren't supposed to eat go down fine and the good stuff gets stuck and yucky? What is wrong with that picture. Lynn, I'm so proud of you and Billy. Yall are the greatest! Keep up the good work! Sharon, you need to go and edit your signature. (user CP on this site) some how you have your ticker pasted twice. Just cut one out and save the other one and see if that works. If it doesn't, try cutting them both and starting over. I think just cutting one out will work, though. Shannon, does the cereal taste good? That should be just the thing for us. Fiber and protein all in one. Well, time to get started. Got lots to do today and I can't get outside to do it. Susan, I'm beginning to think I might need to go back to WalMarts and get some rubber boots, what do you think? lol Yall have a good day and try to stay out of the storms and stuff! Box, box, box. Drink water too! lisa
-
Hey Lynn! Glad to hear from you. You made it! 1 pound from goal??? That is great! How's Mr. Turtle? I know he's made it to goal. Men always lose faster. Glad to hear your sister is jumpin on the "band" wagon. lol Yall take care today, stay in that box and drink your water! lisa
-
What are you waiting for? If you think you need some taken out..... go and get some out. You can always get a fill later. Don't risk erosion and the loss of your band completely. I don't think you are doing anything wrong necessarily, it just sounds like you have too much in your band. It's fix-able.... get it fixed and start over. You can do it and all will be ok. Stress causes a lot of people to be overly tight. I get that way when I'm stressed out. Don't stress over this, k? Just go and get a little bit removed. You don't have to get everything taken out, just enough to give you relief. Hang in there, it's gonna be ok! lisa
-
My suggestion...... Call the Doctor. You could be too tight. You are NOT supposed to be choking on everything. especially on the stuff you listed. You could be one of the lucky people that don't need very many fills to get results from their band. Call the Doctors and see what they say and let us know, k? lisa
